It's on the package right next to it, but not on the same silicon die.Isn't RAM on the Apple silicon chip?

The iPhone Face ID components are twice as thick as the MBP’s lid.Yet it still won’t have Face ID.
No.Could Apple use an iPhone-esque Dynamic Island on these new machines? With…gasp!… FaceID?
For me it would be nice because I have large family videos and photos, as I think most people do with kids these days. And it would be nice to have the full res files downloaded if I ever wanted to view them. I knows. It’s excessive but it would be nice to not have to reach for the external when ever I wanted to watch a clip.It is not able “storaging” but rendering. One project can take up a lot of space, depending on how long your time frame your video is and how many shots you have.
Apple understood the need for 8TB of on-board storage. They listened to the Pros. 4TB and up are for Pros who can afford paying the costs, not you-tubers or general public usage.
Because "most people" have the ability to use, or even need the speed of WiFi 6E? Doubtful.Wifi will probably be good for the most people. All that other stuff will just be for the ones doing stuff that strains the current CPU/RAM.
Thanks and yeah regarding the nas as I’d like to be able to ditch cloud service as I’ve been reading up on it but I’ve never really seen any videos that show off the Wi-Fi speeds. They always seem to just show off the i gigabit Ethernet speeds.DangI'm sorry to hear it pal. That really sucks. It's always the hard working lower and middle class that suffers eh? The backbone of society and we're the ones left to pick up the pieces when it falls apart.
Referring back to your previous post, 8TB standard would be amazing. I mean, that's just absurd but I love it. I'm a little bit of a data hoarder myself. You know what looks like a lot of fun? Setting up a NAS at home. Have you ever looked into one?
No, that’s more spring 2024.Minor spec bump, this is probably gonna be like a Mid January 2023 MacBook Pro
Then in October, they will release the Late 2023 MacBook Pro update with M3 based on 3 NM.
There are many scenarios where faster Wi-Fi can be used like Pro-photographers uploading a thousand photos from a shoot to the cloud. These are pro, not general purpose, computers.Because "most people" have the ability to use, or even need the speed of WiFi 6E? Doubtful.
I didn't say that no one would use it. Obviously there are very niche uses for such high speed. I made a point of objecting to the notion that "most people" would benefit from it. They won't. WiFi 6E hardware is still very pricey and "most people" don't have it nor need it.There are many scenarios where faster Wi-Fi can be used like Pro-photographers uploading a thousand photos from a shoot to the cloud. The answer to that is always going to be no. It's generally never worth upgrading one gen in tech these days. The only time it would even remotely be worth it is if you use the laptop to make money and it's actually faster enough to be earn back the cost in a short period. These are going to be a fairly minor bump and unless there is some new feature that wildly accelerates what you do it just won't be worth it.I thought for sure we would be looking at updates once every two years... Is it worth the upgrade from the Oct 2021 MBPs? Still runs decent, but 6E is attractive. Thoughts?
TL;DR: case in point:The answer to that is always going to be no. It's generally never worth upgrading one gen in tech these days. do you frequent many places that have 6E and the bandwidth and purpose to use it?I thought for sure we would be looking at updates once every two years... Is it worth the upgrade from the Oct 2021 MBPs? Still runs decent, but 6E is attractive. Thoughts?
I agree with the sentiment, however the current MacBook Pro redesign is exactly what it should have been throughout the entire Touch Bar era. They nailed it. That’s certainly something great that came from the Tim Cook era.i can tell there won't be any WOW big redesign factors of the products anymore until Tim Apple retires
Which “excitement” are you talking about?I'm not so sure what the excitement is about the M2 14" and 16" MBP. It's just a minor spec bump.
The M1 14" and 16" MBP was a much better update.
