tired of waiting...26th or bust

im either getting the new mbp (if it's released) or a current mb to hold me over until the next full redesign

also, does anyone know if the apple store ever has no interest financing? it's the only reason i wanna get it a best buy - then i can max out the options

Keep waiting.

Last years MBP will seem even older and more expensive.

I would also be very surprised at the lameness of Apple.

I'm tired of these Apple-centered polls that don't consider other possibilities, like:

get a Dell
jump off the bridge
join a cult
start WW III

Those are all remarkably equally viable options...although I think I would personally lean towards the bridge or WWIII option before I bought a Dell

If it does not happen by the end of this month aka next week, I'll dig a hole in the sand and stick my head in it.....uh no I fear sand fleas so I'll just hang out with all you guys until summer with hopes that Apple delivers a seriously fierce, redesigned, MBP with optional bell and whistle attachments. If I'm not here I'll be in the corner, curled in fetal position, rocking back and forth, with thumb in mouth...or I'll be at work, wishing I was in the corner, curled in fetal position, rocking back and forth, with thumb in mouth.

I'll consider buying the current model, but since it is already soooooo overpriced, I will also consider buying another PC laptop (which was the reason why I bought this PC 4 years ago, instead of a Mac)... MBP's are really cool but for HALF the price you can get a Dell with has TWICE its features... Come on Apple, wake up!!! The iPhone certainly was the climax of your creations, but you've come to a point where you just decrease your imagination and innovation. Thus, your products become old and overpriced (like almost everything you sell right now)... That's probably why you'll never sell as much as other computer companies.

I want to disagree but it's hard to deny. Just threw together a Dell XPS 1530 fully loaded and it is pretty competitive. I can't deny it's very tempting. If only it had a backlit keyboard (NOTE: Go to software and accessories to remove some stuff like spyware and whatnot).

I'll buy another computer!!! I'm getting sick of Apple being snob to their customers...

I hate how apple acts like they're doing us a favor by not telling us what is coming out and when things are coming out. After this whole ordeal, I'm tempted to not buy from apple just out of spite, but I'm still waiting another week until I pull the trigger on either an XPS or something else that comes along with a good deal.

But would you both still bitch about Apple at macrumors? It is quite a fun past time, and there's a friendly bunch of us here...

If the new MBP isn't out by Feb 26, I'll probably buy a Dell XPS M1530 with the 2.6 Ghz Core2Duo T7800. It can be kitted out with very similar hardware for a better price. It makes me a little sad not to buy a MBP (I have two iMac's at home), but I need a laptop for work by March 7 and I'm having a tough time wrapping my head around the concept of paying cutting-edge dollar for hardware that can no longer be described as cutting-edge.

Besides - my workplace is mac hostile, so I will need to dual boot into XP in any event.

punch a baby in the face

I'll keep waiting until the new one is released. My iBook is still performing good for me and I'm in no hurry right now to get a new laptop. If the new MBP aren't good enough in specs, I might get an iMac or MB instead. It would be nice if they came out in Feb, but I really don't care.

... but seriously folks, all of this hype is natural for humans I suppose in masse but its kind of turning into a blind rant (kind of like Obama supporters). This penryn processor isn't that special- I mean even if it was released tomorrow you'd kind of feel like a sucker on you're 800 MHz front-end bus with 2.6 GHz while I'll be on a 1066 MHz front-end bus with 3.06 Ghz a few months later. It doesn't make sense for me. <--- honestly I only came to this conclusion yesterday so if it had come out 2 days ago I def would have bought it.

That's not even a laptop haha. That's an all-in-one laptop-shaped PC :p Battery life of 25 minutes tops?

Achooley about 45 minutes :D, but it will be plugged in a lot. I really hope the new MBP at least has a top of the line video card. Don't expect multiple hard drives or desktop quad core cpu's. But they would be nice.

I will buy a Dell Vostro 1500 with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB RAM, built in camera like iSight, 128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS, High Def 15.4" Widescreen XGA+ with a DVD/CD burner all for $679 and free shipping.
