What would cause you to leave iPhone for Android

Probably if Apple started eliminating lower cost options to corral people towards paying a minimum of £800 for their phone (I.e. Eliminating the SE, older phone options and making people pay the 799 for 64GB iPhone 8 as the entry option)

I don't mind paying £800 (though that is getting towards the ceiling of what I'll pay as I like to upgrade every 18 months or less) but I would rather have a model with more storage for that price point.

As that's pretty much the quickest way to run the platform into the ground though I'd guess not a lot to answer your question- though if it did all go wrong for whatever reason I think at this point I'd be ok with going Nokia 8/ stock android.

I jump around frequently. I like things about iOS/iPhones and I like things about Android/phones. Both I wish would learn from eachother. I am hoping the Pixel line will keep developing but Google has thier own hubris when it comes to development of devices that drives me nuts.

I just look at what I want at that time and get what I want. I do tend to over-research and analyze purchases though so I delve pretty deep down the rabbit hole. But I do not swear brand loyalty to anyone.

It depends on what is available at the time of uprading. Last year, I went with Android and there is a 65/35 chance I will do it again based on the iPhone 6sss and a notched $1150 phone

I doubt I ever would, unless they just quit making iPhones. I really love Apple products and how everything works together so seamlessly.

I recently started working part-time at an office that is, of course, all windows; it just reminds me every day why I hate all things that aren't Apple.

If they stopped catering to carriers and allowing all this BS to be preinstalled. If they didn't slow down after a few months. If they didn't lose support so quickly. I'm not sure why Android makers let the carriers run all over them though, it's super frustrating when one model of Phone X is faster than the other because of which carrier it's on. I remember my Galaxy S3 on Verizon was slower than those on AT&T and others because of the BS Verizon put on there.

When I got a OnePlus One many years ago I was amazed at how well it ran (eventually anyways there was a lot of bugs but First Gen and all that) I switched to the S6 because I really wanted a fingerprint scanner. And holy smokes. The carrier bloat is real. I am with you I will never understand how Google allows this to continue I get carriers have a lot more control over the various Android makers for shelf space in their precious stores but even Microsoft with its non-existent market share at the time was able to keep the carrier bloat at bay and allow users to remove apps. No reason Google couldn't just force the issue at this point.

The pure android phones the ones close to it like OnePlus and Pixel (I think) they actually run quite well. How Samsug allows this to still happen is beyond me they are not some tiny company beholden to the carriers. They have a presence and reputation to rival that of Apple IMO. But I guess sometimes the cash from carriers is too good to ignore.

It is the one thing I am actually rather pleased about with Apple for-They went out of the gate this way and never looked back. The Android manufacturers had to appease the carriers (which honestly could have been steam rolled since iPhones were only on one network at the time) and they blew it.

I can't say I am wedded to Apple, Android, or anything else.

My first and only smartphone to this point is my 6s.

Thing I like:
iMessage
Battery life
Small size
Everything works with a minimum of fuss

Things I dislike:
Have to use iTunes to sync/copy/backup
Very little freedom to change the UI or to add customizations

So for now...Apple wins. But the lines are always moving.

iMessage coming to Android, and being able to walk into a store and receive the same level and quality of product support as Apple (e.g., warranty repairs, screen and battery replacement, etc).

I've been using the Mac and Apple products since 1994. It feels like home. This is not fanboyism, it's just that this is the environment I love to do my work, this is where my "digital life" has always been as well. I've used Windows, I've used Irix back in the day, but it's always been Apple for me. Now in 2017, I have invested too much in their ecosystem to even consider switching. And there ain't got any notch in the world that could ever change that. ;)

I just want to throw this out there..I was android fan for years, used samsung, LG, Sony.. Had some great experience... I was super anti iphone. Before I started my career I actually worked for T-mobile before they started selling the iphone. But I was so anti iphone. My first iPhone was the 6s.
I'll never leave the iphone ios.

My favorite android device was the first Sony Xperia mostly because of the waterproof feature. However I am now an adult "fanboy". I don't think I'll ever return to an android os device.
From my experience the iphone stays like new for what seems for ever, always snappy like brand new, no lag, excellent battery life. (Compared from my experiences with Android os devices). The only thing I really do miss is the IR blaster or whatever the he'll you want to call it.

Absolutely nothing would make me go to Android. Android is a Google virus. It is a malware infested, privacy stealing, data sucking, tracking machine. Period.

Everything that has happened so far. First dead pixels on 5s, then Samsung VS TSMC battery on the 6s, SE I got two with logic board issues from the same batch at the Apple store somehow, then Intel modem on 7 Plus that has given me trouble.

No gigabit LTE modems. Still using Intel for AT&T and T-Mobile. No band 71 for T-Mobile.

I'm ready to go back to Android.

My wife has an Android and we both hate it. I guess I'd go that way if they were the only phone out there. I might just consider a flip phone then
