I'm confused... What's the difference between swiping to the left to click view or to the right to click open?
Aren't they both going to do the same thing?

Swipe to unlock?

No, they couldn't do anything that intelligent, could they?

And it's just as ugly as iOS 7.

I fired up an old iPod Touch today. Wow, iOS 6 really is beautiful. It's such a shame that Ive decided to completely screw that up.

- WiFi icon - The WiFi icon in the upper left hand of the display that shows when you're connected to a WiFi network has been slightly tweaked with thicker, more uniform lines.

I cross my fingers with every new beta that they will add a fifth bar to the cell signal. Alas...

Apparently, the current day Apple doesn't give as much thought to their UI's details as they do their hardware. While one guy is tweaking a micro-detail such as the line thickness on the WiFi symbol, another is screwing up the Reminder app's icon so that it doesn't resemble the actual app's layout therein. Why are the completion buttons on the righthand side of the icon?

Something I’ve noticed is that in the app switcher once you close all open apps, it automatically returns you to the home screen. Seems like a nice little touch.

If you bothered to watch the video, he explains what he thinks the reasoning is to the switches in the UI display for Reminders.

Just like in IOS10.

So far this is the fastest and smoothest IOS 11 beta. Noticeable right after upgrading, seems now on par with IOS 10.

Also noticed that they omitted a setting under Camera > Formats. I think it’s something for exporting support?

I think that the new full-screen Touch ID screen is proof it will be integrated in the display of the next iPhone!

I was thinking the same thing. For that matter, is there anything hidden in the code that suggests alternate ways to unlock (such as facial recognition), or would Apple keep that out of the beta for now?

View = viewing in a window, not opening the app fully. Open = opening the app full screen.

The article gives you the option of watching a video or reading the article—which makes no mention of it. Since, I’m a beta tester, it’s perfectly reasonable that I noticed the discrepancy.

They explain this in the article. It's a localization issue. Cleverly, these icons are inverted in right-to-left languages, and a current bug in the beta may display the incorrect icons.

Every time I try to use the beta, CarPlay is terribly slow, to a point where it's unusable. Has this improved with the new betas?

Yes I found that too using CarPlay in a BMW wireless. I downgraded because I rely on CarPlay so much and it was awfully sluggish. No idea if this beta improves it though.

Can anyone test the Files app to see if Pages and other iWork files will open in their respective apps even if they are not placed in that app folder? Thanks.

Why are the tabs on the left? Tabs are on the right of a contact/address book. Why are the check marks on the right? Did Apple switch the marks to the right, too?
Exactly my first impression as well.
Unless they changed (i.e. mirrored) the apps UI, these icon changes are beyond stupid IMHO.

Anybody know if it is again possible to enable the field test mode that gives the digital strength of the cell signal? This disappeared in the earlier betas. Some of us really need that as opposed to the vertical bars.

The icons aren't new they are the low-res versions designed for the smaller phones, so a major bug there.

It's not a "major bug" Its BETA! and therefore incomplete. Beta versions will contain elements that are not for final release like low-res or placeholder icons. If they are still low-res in the GM or final release, then it may be regarded as a bug, but thats still a couple of months away.

I see your cell network is project fi. Do you have any information on this? Can macrumors do a story on how to use project fi on an iphone?
I read it somewhere, probably a reply to a similar question on MR. Long story short, activate the SIM on a Google phone, then transfer the SIM to an iPhone.
