Focus modes also changing what appears in the dock and what can be seen in the app switcher

Folders/Groups/tags in passwords

Tags in shortcuts to show shortcuts in widget based on tags rather than folders

Long press option to convert a single widget to a stack without having to drag and mess your screen layout up

Long press option to replace a widget with another to stop having to delete and drag which messes screen layout up.

Appreciate it’s been likely mentioned prior but I’d like to see the ability to choose things like ISO etc in the Camera app - yes, there are third party apps but something like this baked into the default app itself would be great…

Personally, I would like to see swipe right from the home screen to be an on/off option - as with the swipe to left for the App library. Does anyone even use the App Library? Anyway....................

I would also like to see DI removed and also the cumbersome camera control button - both useless, in my opinion of course.

.The ability to lock screen orientation per app.
.Stability
.Ease of use simplified - IOS has become too complicated and

I'm sure there's many more, but I have porridge to eat..........................

When I download an App, I want to be able to specify what folder it goes into when it downloads, I hate having to keep dragging apps into folders across multiple screens.

Hopefully there will not be many bugs with the new software. Would like to see iPadOS improve. Selecting multiple iMessages should be made easier. Really wish for Siri and Apple Intelligence to improve. Also Apple should make it easier to edit StandBy clock.

When an alarm goes off, can we request it to remain silent for 5 seconds and only vibrate? Many people are already awake and don’t want to disturb others. It’s quick to reach for your phone and acknowledge the alarm within 5 seconds.

My top 5 are

1) Bug fixes
2) Stability
3) Bug fixes
4) Stability
5) Bug fixes

That is serious list :) As I see some others lists it reminds me of saying. When you are healthy, you have many wishes, if you are sick, you just wanna get fit :)

My other top wish is:

Treat other smaller languages as good as English and other world languages. I do not expect Siri in Czech, tho would be nice, but:!
  • autocorrect that do not sucks and is made to slavic languages logic not Roman languages.
  • translator app that supports more languages otherwise it has little use
  • ability to dictate in other language within English Siri prompts, like starting message but dictating in language of receiver not one set for Siri
  • Male and female voices for TTS for all languages, ability to read Sanskrit
  • or ability to install third party voices into system
From list sounds goo: One combined user interface for Spotlight and Type to Siri.

My wish, hello EU, ability to select AI app that I would call within Siri as we may never get localised Siri.

in Books app built in feature read book. Using accessibility feature instead sucks

Compact widget of app icon size or icons row

And then long list of small things could follow for everyone :)

What's Rumored for iOS 19

iOS 19 is rumored to be getting a major design update with visuals inspired by visionOS. It could have a floating, glossy look with a focus on transparency, along with simplified navigation and a reimagining of icons, buttons, and menu bars.

More Apple Intelligence features are in the works, including the updates to Siri that we were supposed to get in iOS 18. We have a list of all the iOS 19 rumors so far in our iOS 19 roundup.

Article Link: What's On Your iOS 19 Wishlist?

I'd settle for some depth and actual buttons in the UI and separate user accounts on iPadOS like we have on the Mac

not holding my breath on either of these

- Make it as smooth as simple as the last really good iOS release, which was iOS 6.1.4
- Get rid of the neons and white screens, the UI is a nightmare without some proper dark mode, and I shouldn't have to use dark mode to enjoy the UI

The current iOS UI is chaotic, looks awful, settings are all around the place, Photos app sucks, Music app sucks, Mail completely sucks, animations are literally giving me motion sickness which definitely wasn't the case with older iOS versions, give me Cover Flow, get rid of this stupid App library or whatever that is supposed to be, I can create my own folders and organize my own apps thank you very much...I could keep going, the current state of iOS is tragic and nowhere near the level of UI refinement we had with iOS 6. Since iOS 7, every release was just worse and worse. The top two are listed, I can sort of get over the rest. I literally have to buy an old iPhone to enjoy having an iPhone again, that's how bad it is. Whenever I use my 14 Pro it's like I'm looking at some oversaturated cartoon of an UI on this giant screen since Apple doesn't make "normal" sized phones anymore, the definition of "iPhone" and "iOS" is really just a nostalgic memory for me at this point...

Besides stability.
But to automatically enact DND or the option when you have an appointment/meeting. Just like Blackberry did.
Also a separate volume control for Alarms.
This, this and this!! Lost count how many times I woke up to an alarm blasting at high volume because I had increased the ringtone volume the previous night and didn’t remember to turn it back down.

- Improved Siri
- Split Screen
- Number Row on Keyboard/Keyboard Improvements
- “Time Until Fully Charged” when charging
- Separate volume controls for media, notifications, etc.
- Dynamic Wallpapers/Apple-curated wallpaper “store”
- Circle to Search
- Remove app names without having to have large icons on home screen.

Things I haven’t seen mentioned:

- Proper spellcheck + predictive typing
- Access app settings via long press
- Widgets that actually update
- Way faster device syncing (EU servers are a joke)
- Spotify-like continuity between devices
- Rethink Screen Time: simpler, intuitive, real app/time restrictions

I wrote this idea a while ago but thought it might fit here…

A crazy idea for Apple.

There're many comments, in various threads, where Apple fans wish Apple would slow down — or even stop — adding software features, and focus on tightening-up their software.

Many often cite Snow Leopard as being the heyday for Apple's "it just works" age, and I'm sure there's a similar reference for iOS. As Apple continues to strive to add more and more bells and whistles to their software, more and more bugs and inconsistencies are bound to come up.

As far as I know, this is somewhat inevitable with such a fast development cycle. I've heard people blame Apple's focus on pleasing shareholders first, and consumers second — drive more sales of the newest hardware models through software updates that require new purchases. I'm sure it's more complicated than that, but you're here for a crazy and fun idea, not my ignorant speculation...

The idea.

Apple announces, in typical cryptic fashion, that the Apple polishing cloths will no longer be available until further notice.

Later, when it comes time for WWCD of that year, the theme is some clever variation on 'the year of polish' or 'our lineup has never been shinier' or something actually good.

The point.

Apple announces that the polishing cloths were no longer available to the public, as they were needed internally. They needed them so they could spend a full year focused on 'polishing' their existing offerings (not literally, of course; I'm talking software).

They announce the name of the new update to macOS as [clever name], and a video plays with a reel like: (with accompanying iOS and iPadOS versions)
  • New features: none!
  • Added functionality: none!
  • Pretty novelties: none!
    ...
  • Bugs fixed: 23,434,543
  • Consistency improved: 3,567,343 instances
  • Energy efficiency: up 363%
  • Crash decrease: 476%
  • User satisfaction: +254%
  • etc... (any metrics which can actually measure these improvements)

The message.

They talk about taking everything they already have, but has objectively needed more time to polish and refine, and then re-offering it in an update which re-commits to the principles of quality over quantity, reliability, and "it just works".

They talk about longer lasting hardware (due to more efficient and optimized software), in order to help with e-waste.

They talk about staying true to the principles which made them the most valuable company in the world.

They talk about defining their software in the same way they have done with their hardware: polished and refined to a level unmatched in the industry.

Then, at the end, they show a room full of Apple employees polishing MacBooks, iPhones, watches, and iPads. All getting shinier and shinier...

"The polishing cloths will be available again on [DATE]." <– the release date for the 'new' OS.

Shareholder relations.

There would need to be a separate, specific, presentation directed at shareholders, so they don't think Apple has gotten lazy and will lose sales.

This would be a long-term gain to offset the downturn in hardware sales, and to get fans to fall in love with their products again. If they pulled this off, then it would, hopefully, pull more and more people into the Apple ecosystem due to it's ease of use, consistency, and reliability — all things which used to be associated with Apple far more frequently.

Not gonna happen.

I know. I just thought it would be fun to write out and discuss.

My wish: less bugs and feature parity between MacOS, iPadOS and iOS ALL OVER THE WORLD please. But foremost: SIRI needs to get GOOD. I'll settle for good, I don't need it to be the best.

Sorry for SHOUTING :p

Not sure if this was said already, but it would be nice if they could put Safari in dark mode. I know there’s NOIR and a couple of other apps, but I get a lot of errors with these. If you implemented Dark Mode pretty much everywhere else, why wasn’t Safari on the list? 🤔
