I would do the same, but can’t beat it when my school has Microsoft 365 free to all students and teachers with their school accounts.
I also have that, but I have a personal subscription (also at educator price) because I don't want my uni to have any modicum of control on what I do on my personal computers

I will most definitely subscribe to Creator Studio, because I can get it at the educator price.... for me it's a no brainer
I'm thinking the same.

Even if I'll never use Final Cut or Logic, there's still plenty of value...or potential value, at least, in it.

I do use Pixelmator Pro and Numbers regularly, and Pages fairly often. And even small added value functionality to those will (probably) make it worth it at the Edu pricing.

That is, as soon as Apple decides to make it available, because I have been perusing the app store for at least 45 mins and I don't see even the slightest hint of the bundle.... (10h45 in Spain)

Ohhh I see… cos some files the school may see them right?

But we have no limits on OneDrive space vs personal accounts

I do. My uni is a bit.... ahem, constrained on resources, so we got a 500 GB limit down from 1 TB. As soon as I get an M5 Mac Mini for my office, I am seriously thinking about ditching Office completely... dunno what to do.

Weird they limit space? In my school they don’t.

...To make the most of this break, I’m aiming to avoid boredom, and besides vacations, I’m hoping to snag at least a couple of scholarships and the chance to get certified in AutoCAD.

The AutoCAD certification is my main goal, and I’ve got my exam scheduled for January 13th....

That potentially covers a lot to learn in a short time....so did you end of taking the exam?

Long story short. I had two attempts at it. I studied since Christmas break.

Speaking of which, I passed it today sir. Done and dusted. Now I nailed my New Year’s resolution and got the winter ❄️ certification challenge sorted ✔️

So happy 😁 and now I can get that gift card from Autodesk rewards.

How did your AutoCAD exam go by the way?
Fun fact: my dad used AutoCAD to draw a map of the rivers of Spain for me to learn in geography class while at school
It was quite the adventure to get this New Year’s resolution done, but I made it! I had to visit two schools: one for a college tour to my friend’s community college and back as an alumnus to my high school to take the test TWICE.

The first time, the wording on the questions wasn’t quite what I expected. It was mostly multiple-choice, with less emphasis on drawing on the software, and I was so close to passing it. Plus, I was the only engineering student out of all the students in the testing center at my friend’s school, surrounded by NCLEX and ATI TEAS nursing students, GRE grad school applicants, and other students taking various exams. The ladies thought I was going to crush it like I was closing my rings, but I was in a different state of mind when I walked out of the testing/computer room as they handed me the score sheet.

I had to spend some time emailing and calling Autodesk and Pearson to get me an additional voucher from rewards… but my support system, consisting of my mentors, the Apple Watch community, and virtual fanbases, offered me support. One AW ultra user sent me an e-gift card to cheer me up. And an old mentor of mine, my high school engineering teacher, has gotten back on the grind into my support system as a mentor again and offered me a FREE RETAKE, and to come back to my high school to the class I dearly missed from 2-3 years ago.

The second attempt, two weeks later, went well. I had an extra week of studying than the first time, as my retake got postponed due to server outages. It was at my former high school, a familiar place, at the engineering lab/maker shop. I had extra prep and bonus YT tutorials added to my checklist on the journal entry on my Mac, and I identified the parts I didn’t do well on the first attempt. And I did it! As I saw the score on the screen, my eyes were glowing! My former mentor was so happy to see me pass (and come back as an alumnus, too!)

#quitquitting and resolving my resolutions is the best way to keep this year moving forward, and I am eagerly waiting for my points for the gift card from Autodesk 🙂 so I can get straps, Time Machine SSD, a new MagSafe dock that fits my AirPods Pro.

Sir, your dad used AutoCAD too? How nice ! I did use it for floor plans, my swift student challenge app icon, and some of my iPhone widget art.

Yeah, so my dad used it I don't know exactly for what but he used it. How do I put it... he was kinda of a county assessor? So he used it to draw and control maps of the zones he was in charge of

Surveyors use it too as part of redefining the roads and boundaries with engineering firms
