Good for you. Short week? Do enjoy your time off. It was my first day back today. Well in truth I’m never really off 100%.

Cold wet and miserable here. Put the brown bin out (garden waste). Now my warming cup of tea is on my mind!
Hope you enjoyed your tea.

Getting our internet service upgraded on Thursday, urgently needed for us, as well as the job. Am hoping to get that and the return of the current internet service providers equipment done Thursday to just enjoy a 3 day weekend.

:)

Hope you are good otherwise.

I wish I'd paid more attention in geography; then maybe I'd understand how this is optimal shipping:

The worst part is knowing that it's actually traveled farther than it would've if they'd just gone the right way.

So the package also replicated itself like a Gremiln. It arrived at 8:58PM and at 8:59AM at a facility, without ever leaving a facility.

I'll trade ya. You can have this heat wave we've been having and I'll take your cold, wet and miserable weather.
Grass is always greener. Or in your case yellow and withered!

3 day weekend. If only they all were!

Does retiring, or moving on, need to be justified?

Good question. It’s a significant effort to pull out so it needs to make good sense. Until a few months ago I planned to work 15 years. Nothing changed in the last 12 months in fact business beat expectations. Yet I find myself feeling a bit weary. I don’t want to go through this effort only to be filled with argument later.

I sometimes think company employees and executives roam fan and news forums under anonymous usernames, ex. Tim Cook is an active member here in MacForums and he reads all the negative/positive feedback about him....

hmmm...Maybe he is that user that always proclaims how great Tim is managing Apple...

I am sure that Tim Cook and team receive personalized reports on what's going on in MacRumors and other forums. They might not come here to check what we write, but they are certainly aware of what people are talking about. Of course, they certainly receive daily news briefings customized for them, as virtually any CEO and/or leader.

My package is in Maine again.

It's gone from Massachusetts to Maine back to Massachusetts, and is once again in Maine.

****.

Needs some time and contemplation then. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll make the right decision.

Spent some time scrolling through a thread on a forum here from 9 or 10 years ago reminiscing about some old (online) friends who seldom or no longer post here anymore.

There were some good times back then.

Neighbor of ours has offered to propagate some cuttings from their various raspberry and other berry bushes. Quite excited. I've grown from seed and we get plenty of fruit but it's always nice to have more variety. Also the fact it costs next to nothing compared to paying $3-5 for a small box to a pound of it.

There's maybe 40-50 lb of frozen berries, discounting strawberries in the chest freezer. Quite sick of having smoothies daily at this point. And before anyone recommends it, already made multiple clafoutis, sauces, BBQ and chili sauce, eaten fresh, jams and preserves, etc.

Not as bad as when I was growing 10 papaya trees because I overestimated how much we'd consume that damn stuff.

Ballet is still on the radar.
Joking aside, I long ago got the feeling you're running your own thing where you are now and not working for someone else. Do you not want to retire because you're afraid of your hard work going up in smoke because the person you sold it to or handed it to messed up? Or do you not see a purpose in retiring?

I can't see myself retiring because of the above reasons, also enjoy having control over things and also my home improvement projects can be a bit too much.

Reading a post about Twitter and domain names suddenly reminded me that the oldest domain in my collection is now 23 years old...!

Thinking about my dog, Nikki, that I put down last week. Also wondering why my psychiatrist decided to deny my refill request for my prescriptions. Moving soon, so packing, cleaning and organizing is on top of the "to-do" list. Curious why I decided to use a TV as a monitor for my Mac mini now instead of when I bought it...

Ballet is still on the radar.

I took a "ballet" class in college, it was awesome. It was like dance and strength or something, but it had a decent amount of ballet-esque movements.

Yes, this was motivated by a woman.

Yes, it may have also been the instructor.

:D

Oh, I also have a huge sign for that company in my garage*, hahahaha, and behind my desk a movie poster for when my partner left.

* I also have a traffic light and a fire hydrant and hose. And some random street signs.

Weren't you a boxer in your youth, @D.T.? I've heard of boxers taking private ballet lessons to improve their footwork.
