Ink cartridges. That’s what’s on my mind..Is it better to subscribe or just buy yourself?

It only really works if your printing numbers are consistent. Personally I’ve not even gotten around to connecting my printer since I moved in December.

Sub is ok if you have a consistent number of pages you print and pick the best plan.

I’m working from home but 90% of what I need to print out for work is sent to the office so I might be more careful of what I print off and see how it goes. I just didn’t understand the deal. I thought I was subscribing to the cartridges but looks like it’s number of pages printed. This seems crazy? I’m being charged for the number of copy (on paper that I buy) printed on a printer (that I own)?.... I just don’t get it....

As I previously posted about the fires in my home area, just learned the fish hatchery located past Glide, Oregon along with 4 worker homes has been destroyed. I had visited it since I was a kid and helped raise funds to keep it open. A shame.

First time using a proxy service to order something from Japan, hoping that they'll place the order soon, as it's a limited-run item though. It's Friday evening though so probably won't be placed until Monday morning.

The horrible news just doesn't stop. A little boy along with his dog in his lap has been found killed by the fire with his Grandmother in a car. What a shame!
That is very sad. The parents must be devastated. Some of the pictures I’ve seen just look so scary. You can’t possibly imagine how they must feel. Hope the family is all safe.

So the proxy service fell through, I'm now exploring alternatives (i.e. asking around at various places to see if there's an individual who can order it for me).

The number of pages you use can change, - it can increase or decrease in response to specific work circumstances or needs - and I think that it is something that you would want to have control of, and autonomy over, rather than something than has been set (by someone else) as part of a subscription deal for ink cartridges.

So, buy yourself, would be my (firm) recommendation.

Have to come into work this weekend. Not too bad, really; I get to check out MacRumors.

Also, the person ahead of me in the grocery store last night was buying:
  • two champagne glasses
  • a pair of sunglasses
  • eighteen single serving frozen pork egg rolls
  • a sign that said… well, see for yourself

I have never been so curious about a stranger's life.

I have never been so curious about a stranger's life.
So now at least we know what unicorns eat. I’m off to build a trap and buy some pork egg roll for bait.
Actually I often look at the things people buy and wonder about their life style! Mind you I’m sure people think the same about us!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think you’re right. I shall cancel my subscription and buy my future ink cartridges myself.

They can't know your work print needs as well as you do; and, while I can understand a subscription for cartridges requiring that you sign up to ordering a specific or set number of cartridges over a given time period, I do think it distinctly odd that this should be tied contractually (by someone else who is not necessarily acquainted with the realities and needs of your work flow) - and set or defined contractually - to the number of pages printed.

It seems both unnecessary, and complicated, and, I cannot see any reason (let alone any advantage) to want to sign up for this.

I'm seriously considering abandoning the Apple ecosystem. I dislike immensely the actions of Apple concerning their appstore policies. I have a fear that they may in due time bring the same controlling nonsense to Apple silicon Macs.

I am completely shocked to learn a video streaming service(Netflix) is worth more than an automobile international conglomerate that builds a percentage of planet earth cars(Toyota).

We can't win.
1) Apple appstore policy
2)Windows...I just can't...
3)Linux...create your software and bugfix it.
4)ChromeOS...Big Brother will take care of you.

headache.

Anything in particular triggering it?

Stress, dehydration, lack of sleep, approaching deadlines?

Personally, I'd recommend hydration - plenty of hydration - (I used to suffer a lot from migraines), rest, and perhaps, darkness, and necessary over-the-counter medication.

And, perhaps paradoxically, or oddly, I'd suggest salty liquids (for example, clear, chicken broth) rather than sweet drinks.

Voice of (lived, endured) experience....speaking, here.

honestly, I think it was beer this time, mixed with a tough week at work. I had only two pints of Heineken but I am noticing that I am more sensitive to alcohol than usual. This is probably due to the fact that I almost never drink it.

These days (actually, for at least the past decade) my rule of thumb with alcohol is to have at least a glass of water per glass of beer or wine.

Plus, to be perfectly honest, Heineken is a horrible beer; there are better beers available.
