Really sorry to hear this. You’ve had such a bad time of it of late.I'm barely holding it together. The pain from my hysterectomy last April has gotten worse. I felt I couldn't overcome it and I tried to take my own life. Isolation, pain, and difficulty finding doctors just threw me.
I'm conflicted. I finally applied for disability and found a new Obgyn I see Thursday. So I'm fighting. Though in my back of my mind, I'm not happy that I survived and if it wasn't for extreme pain I'd be in the psychiatric hospital. They've closed 3 facilities near me too, what a time for that during all this chaos and loss.
My ER hospital bill after I survived, only 1 provider was covered by my insurance. The rest are all denied claims. We really have to do something about healthcare. That is the only thing I agree with Democrats on. However, if it's government run it'll be a mess. They got into college loans and look at how that went.

I’m sorry you are suffering, and know that plus $2.50 will buy you a cup of coffee.I'm barely holding it together. The pain from my hysterectomy last April has gotten worse. I felt I couldn't overcome it and I tried to take my own life. Isolation, pain, and difficulty finding doctors just threw me.

Well glad you’ve stuck around. I’ve been here around 8.Today is my 10 year anniversary on MacRumors.
It's been an interesting ride.
I’m sorry you are suffering, and know that plus $2.50 will buy you a cup of coffee.I would never try to council anyone to stay alive “just because”, but I’m happy you are still around vs gone, although we will all go at some point, it’s just a matter of timing.
Since I have retired, I better understand those people who are compelled to work to stay busy, when they don’t have to for the financial support. I often feel that I am just finding ways to occupy/entertain myself.
Was your original Obgyn working with you regarding this pain?
As far as government run health care, the payment end of it will be handled by the government, but all the health professionals will still be out there as good or as bad as they maybe. When I switched from my company’s health plan, to Mecicare, I noticed virtually no difference other than who is involved with billing and moderating the bills. It’s not something to fear, this versus a government made up of Representatives who think you’d be better left to whatever financial means you have, including being one illness from bankruptcy.
Sounds like the original doctor was a douche bag. Hope your feeling okay today. My original Obgyn did the surgeries but he now says he has no idea why I'm in so much pain. He basically disregarded me. So I see a new one tomorrow. It feels like my former was really happy to do surgeries but doesn't care the outcome at all.
I think my worry about the government handling all the payments is if all these doctors, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, etc won't want to lower rates the government will either pay the exorbitant prices or we'll lose certain options. Medicaid/Medicare is not accepted everywhere right now. Private insurance has the highest rate of acceptance in all facets.

And OMG, it’s government managed health care!Sounds like the original doctor was a douche bag. Hope your feeling okay today.
I won’t pretend to understand how the US medical system works. Here in the U.K. the NHS takes care of everything. It’s a nice worry free system.
It's not perfect, but when I read of the horror stories of other systems I think it's pretty good. I have private health care at work, But obviously Mrs AFB doesn't as she doesn't work. And OMG, it’s government managed health care!![]()

That must be so frustrating to have your surgeon not able to fathom why you might still be in such pain!!! I hope that the new doc will be more helpful to you.
Yes, that is a problem with Medicare/Medicaid, and has been for a long time, that these are not accepted across the board by every treatment center/care provider, which really limits a patient's options. Private insurance has the highest rate of acceptance but they also can be very discriminating in what they choose to cover and how much they will pay, etc. etc. They also often make patients and physicians jump through all kinds of hoops to prove that some procedure or test is indeed truly "medically necessary." If, heaven forfend, the wrong ICD or DSM coding is used when filing a claim, denials are going to be forthcoming regardless of the actual validity of the need for inpatient care/procedure/test/need for a particular device.
The US healthcare system really does need a complete makeover and overhaul, but that is easier said than done......
