Congrats on the new Strat - I bet it looks awesome and plays even more awesome - love that "quacky" strat sound !

I have an American Strat too - but like Mefisto I would love to add a Telecaster maybe one with the "f" hole - but sadly not in the budget for a while.

Here is a link to "Chord Namer" - I find it very useful and a big time saver for figuring out what the name of the chords I am using (I learned by ear and don't know the names of most of the chords I use) - it's really cool IMHO - just plug in the notes you are using on each fret and it tells you the name of the chord - no more searching chord charts

anyway - enjoy your new strat

Thanks for that. Looks good

Monday mornings aren’t my favourite. So many things to do. Never know which to start with. So I’m procrastinating whilst waiting for a call back instead. Terrible!

Nor mine, and never were.

Apart - perhaps - from a sunny Monday morning in June....

I have my first presentation in architecture this afternoon, and I still need to prep some of the materials.

Wish me luck :p

The very best of luck with it.

A Good Monday:

Work going smoothly, saw Blue Jays 2x so far 😍, cheered mom up, and started a new arm workout.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hope Monday continues to be good.

Here, it is raining, - I a cooking at and listening to the rain - I have (almost) run out of coffee - (am awaiting a delivery), earlier I put on a wash, but now, I am preparing for my French class this evening.

Yes, but the randomness of the English pronunciation ain't much better.
"Lead", "Read", and "Arkansas" come to mind.

I grant you that.

However, that, plus the extensive and peculiarly precise vocabulary make English an easy language to become reasonably proficient in (compared to other languages the grammar is relatively easy as it retains only vestiges of cases, straightforward tenses, no gender in nouns or necessity for gendered nouns to agree with pronouns or adjectives) but a difficult one in which to achieve full fluency.

I fully agree with the statement. I guess all languages have their... foolishness.

Plus, with English, there has been (over the past few centuries) a marked divergence between how some words are written and how they are pronounced ('the great vowel change'); originally, the written form reflected the spoken version, for, the spoken for determined what would appear on the writer page.

However, pronunciation - and accents - change more rapidly than written forms, which can then take a considerable while to catch up.
