Three bins here; and all three shall trundle down the driveway tomorrow morning in order to be present and correct, neatly lined up and in place, to greet their respective lorries when they put in an appearance sometime in the afternoon.
We have three.

Green for recycling (tomorrow's collection).
Grey for rubbish (next weeks collection).
Brown for garden waste (collected yesterday).

All fortnightly.

Bins emptied, (yes, they were snugly set out, in serried ranks, facing the road by 8.30 this morning, and not collected and emptied until well after lunch), and a quick dash to the city early this morning, for French bread, (and a treat of in the form of classic pain aux raisins, which went really well with coffee prepared in my moka pot), spices, a haircut, and to pick up my library books.

Ours gets emptied around 8 am, so I’m always sure to put them out the night before.

I cut my own hair the other day. It’s not that bad. I must have saved nearly £100 on hair cuts this year!

Not a skill I have mastered.

There was a time, when we were at school, when my mother (who herself always went to a hairdresser, a weekly visit), would cut our hair, including my father's.

Well I think with clippers its easier for men. I have changed my style from a graduated to slightly longer on top, to a uniform length all over.

It works well enough. I'm not exactly worried if its considered the latest trend or not!

Probably.

However, while I have always worn my hair short (and today's haircut was almost a classic "Covid convict" cut), mastering the skills needed to cut it properly myself - that is, cut it properly, not just cut it, - is somewhat beyond me.

In any case, I'm more than happy to pay someone who knows what they are doing, and you feel better for it; however, the older guy (a tough, old school barber) who nobly does my hair, had a minor stroke a few weeks go, and won't be back for a while, so one of the others - who used to cut my father's hair, she informed me today - tended to me, this morning.

Since we moved I've only had my hair cut by the new person twice. Both times in her house. But this was before the lockdown.

Waiting on a friend to call me back, pondering another cup of tea and trying to put off opening up the work laptop.

Been busy today and only now getting online to check out what's new in the forums I hang out in....

Thankful that FINALLY I have been able to take my updated backup and archival external drives to the bank, the lobby and basic, customary services now being once again available, and get them safely nestled in the safe deposit box and bring home the ones which, having been in there since March, desperately need updating.

I've been cutting/trimming my own hair for years, and certainly during this whole pandemic thing have been very happy that at least this is one thing I haven't had to worry about over the past several months! It's naturally wavy and I keep it pretty much chin-length so that even if I do make an error or two, no harm done in the long run. I usually blow-dry it just enough to take most of the serious wetness out, then let the hair's natural tendency to wave take over as it dries naturally. If I wore my hair very short, that would be a different matter!

Eagerly awaiting our latest addition to the iPad stable here, a Rose Gold iPad Air, arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to drawing with the Pencil 2 again (the new pencil was the one thing I adore about the iPad Pros).

Mom has had a rough patch, so I am trying to comfort her the best way I can.

A moment ago, a particularly chatty Blue Jay made itself known.

Hope everyone is having a nice Thursday.

I just ordered a Rose Gold Air for my daughter. I expect she’ll like it.

Enjoy your new iPad. First thing I was told as I got home was the birds needed feeding. Fortunately they were able to get a bite in before the sun completely disappeared for the evening.

Note to self. If in the future I invent a time machine I need to go back to the start of today so I can get a days work done.
I literally got nothing done today that I needed to.

My hair cut style was the worst for a pandemic. I keep it very short in the back, long in the front. I'd have it short all the way around but I can't stand my ears. They stick out.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I get to see my mother in law, she's basically a real mom to me, and catch up. My husband finally has a day off.

I'm really craving chips and salsa. Like Pico de Gallo style salsa.

I am buried in car repairs. Nothing but car repairs... I am very close to giving in and buying a new car. My current car was left to me in my brother's will, so I don't want to get rid of it but I cannot store it if I get another. It's a family piece but I can't keep up with this...

I had almost, almost, forgotten how much I actually dislike writing job applications. Turns out it's still something akin to having my teeth pulled. I haven't really had to do it (<- this can't be right..?) in who knows how many years at this point (both the applications and luckily the teeth), so it's quite the chore. Not that I was really any good at it to begin with, but at least there was a certain rhythm there when applying for jobs in the past.

Still, something that needs to be done. There was a time a while back when work seemed to pick up again, even if just a little, but it doesn't look good at the moment, and against all odds I'm getting bored as hell. A bit more discretionary income would be nice too.

It's raining outside, which is nice.

Praying for you man, writing job applications/resumes and going through the process is NOT fun at all.
