Here in northern New England where it's 17F today and blowing snow sideways, we rely heavily on removable shoe/boot grippers to walk (and even run) on the snow and ice. Are those available there?Walking has been my favorite way of excercising lately as well, but that's pretty difficult at the moment. Yesterday we had about +5C, so all the roads were obviously wet on account of the melting snow and some light drizzle. Last night the temperature dropped to about -5C (we're now at -10C), so now it's all just ice, everywhere. I really should start studying the way penguins move, otherwise I'll have to find my skates if I want to go anywhere outside of my apartment.
We actually call it "penguin walking" here too, a method to safely get across an icy patch.
We're so sick of winter by now though that even when it's this cold, I'll open the windows just to hear some birds. Come on, spring, we're ready.
