Wow. I can buy 3 used iPhone X units for that price. Might be time to convince yourself to upgrade?Ahhahaha they are insane.

$600 is ridiculous -especially for a 3.5 year old phone- may your SE carry you until you can upgrade.I don’t want to upgrade just a few months shy of the new model! I have an old SE no one is using at home, I might try using that until the new iPhone is released
Woah. Yeah, I'd opt for the SE. I've found these devices used for less on Swappa. I'm assuming they replace the whole device for that?Ahhahaha they are insane.
It’s no fun when the place you call home isn’t anymore. I’m so glad we escaped before the lockdown.Woah. Yeah, I'd opt for the SE. I've found these devices used for less on Swappa. I'm assuming they replace the whole device for that?
On my mind: Today is going to be very long but I need out of this apartment. So we're headed to Cuero Texas with my mother in law for her second dose of vaccine.
We're waiting for my husband's credit score to reflect that we've paid off all credit card debt so his credit score will go up. Then we can move forward with trying to get this manufactured home on the in-laws land.
Worse case, we'll have to buy a regular house but with rent at $1300 (With water, trash, pest included) it's ridiculous. We will be breaking this lease we didn't even want to have to resign. It'll cost us about $2,000 but that's a drop in the bucket. This place has completely neglected all maintenance, leaves gates open, loud music all night, people moving out in droves, and we just need to go.
Thanks. Unfortunately walking is painful due to bleeding sores in a place no man wants bleeding sores.@yaxomoxay if it helps I had a friend who got a iPhone 8 plus late 2018 with a new mobile contract and it has served well, so we are still at the end of March so if you want to upgrade go for it as we are at least 6-7 months before the new ones are available. Then again the SE was a fine phone, my boss still uses one and it is solid so if you want to use it until the fall it should serve you well.
@Apple fanboy I hope your day is better today. As someone with sensitive skin (I had a really bad outbreak of eczema early January that only a cortisone shot calmed) I know when autoimmune issues come up they are really crippling. Try to go for a walk or use a timer so you are not planted in front of your screen (says the guy planted since 9 AM).
@Septembersrain good luck with your eventual move and hope you mother-in-laws second does goes well. Mine is due on April 7.
@kazmac hi! Yes $600 is ridiculous - thankfully I am looking at replacing my 7 plus battery and even at the Apple store it should be pretty affordable. I will see how things go and may upgrade to the 12 or 12 Pro soon.

My iPhone X officially died. Brought to a local tech guy, he tried to replace the battery and the screen and it didn't work. Thankfully, he didn't make me pay a dime despite spending a good hour troubleshooting what is now my new brick.@yaxomoxay if it helps I had a friend who got a iPhone 8 plus late 2018 with a new mobile contract and it has served well, so we are still at the end of March so if you want to upgrade go for it as we are at least 6-7 months before the new ones are available. Sadly, it isn't. Battery drains after about 90 minutes, and the screen is not fully responsive (plus a couple of white lines showing on it). I think I'll get a new phone at lunchtime. Oh well, in the great order of things of the universe, this is truly a minor issue.@yaxomoxay hope the SE holds out for you.
Darn. May you buy a great phone for your use/need. 🤗Sadly, it isn't. Battery drains after about 90 minutes, and the screen is not fully responsive (plus a couple of white lines showing on it). I'll keep the SE as the emergency phone.
iPhone SE soon to be listed on eBay as mint condition!Sadly, it isn't. Battery drains after about 90 minutes, and the screen is not fully responsive (plus a couple of white lines showing on it). Enjoy. I always have the bigger phone. Works better with my old eyes.Writing from my brand new iPhone 12 Max Pro. Must admit this thing is nice, and I guess that I will not buy the iPad I wanted to buy this winter; the screen on this thing is huge!!
Likely not because 5G was designed exclusively for cellular networks using licensed spectrum bands for long range communication. Home WiFi uses different bands for shorter local communication. In addition, frequency conflicts trying to share both communications really intended for different purposes. If 5G is faster than Wifi, why not make home rotuers emit 5G signal instead of Wifi?
Been almost a week since I got my first. Still not 100%. Dreading my second.Wife got second Covid shot and she’s feeling awful. Therefore, Sunday at home. Had to buy a couple things at the local store so I decided to buy the Sunday edition of the New York Times. Strangely, they didn’t have the weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal which they always carry and I would’ve bought.
Basically spent the morning sipping coffee and reading physical newspapers (NYT, Epoch Times). Many interesting articles on both, definitely different point of views, and lots to ponder on.
Ultimately, a nice way to relax while getting informed and exposed to different ideas. Also, a good reminder of how it was when I grew up.

When chatting with Decent Brother this afternoon, he told me that he had phoned my 94 year old aunt - my father's sister, who is still completely sharp, acerbic and utterly lucid - and had asked her which - in her view, was worse to live through in terms of stress: The period of the second world war (rationing, war, stress, sudden and sometimes violent death, curtailed or limited travel, censorship) or now.Been almost a week since I got my first. Still not 100%. Dreading my second.
