Some workplaces in the US give employees a paid day off/holiday ("Spring Holiday") at or around Easter -- either Good Friday or Easter Monday -- but it is not a national holiday here. Many, but not all school systems usually have "spring break" right around Eastertime, too, either the week leading up to Easter Sunday or the week following Easter Sunday. That pesky thing in the Constitution about "separation of church and state" is rather awkward and gets in the way.....

Right now the local county school system is wrestling with decisions about the 2021-2022 school calendar, and those responsible are juggling around three or four days which haven't been formally given as holidays in the past, trying to acknowledge our diverse multicultural community here and respecting everyone's customs and traditions. I daresay it's been somewhat of a headache for them!
We have Friday and Monday as holidays here. School kids are off for longer. But seems like they are always off!

Same here in Aus. Which makes for an extra long, long weekend.
Consequences are --
  1. Double demerit driving points for the whole 4 days
  2. Petrol prices go up
  3. Shops are closed Good Friday, open Saturday, shorter trading hours Easter Sunday, Monday
  4. Rabbits are a declared pest in Aus, so the Easter Bunny has to transform into the Easter Bilby when it crosses into Australian territory.

I'm definitely using my LG V60 way more than I do my iPhone. I'm only using the iPhone for bank, credit cards, etc. Every other thing, I'm going with Android on. I'm really glad iPhones have excellent standby times.

Now that LG is bowing out, I should get another V60 from Swappa. I really do love this device.

What's an LG V60? A smartphone? I have an LG thunderbolt 3 4K monitor and love it to bits. I hope LG isn't giving up on the computer monitor business, too!

I have none of my personal banking information, debit cards, credit cards, etc., on my iPhones or iPads in the digital wallet at all. When I want to access my bank account online I do it from home on my own safe, secure network. I do have my Apple Card in the digital wallet, though, for making Apple Pay purchases on the rare occasions I remember to do so, or for actually buying Apple products. Last Apple-related purchase I made was back in December, the M1 MBP, so it's been a while now....

I do still carry the actual physical debit and credit cards with me, but in a small RFID-protective wallet so that hopefully no one can somehow electronically snag the relevant information from any of them. Since the whole pandemic thing I've found myself using very little cash for transactions, preferring the no-touch benefits of a card.

Probably the kids are off for one entire week, either prior to or just following Easter Sunday......
They actually get two weeks... This year it’s after Easter so they’ve just broken up. As Easter moves around (moons etc) it’s a tricky one - sometimes Easter is at the end of the hols - sometimes at the start etc etc

I rarely use my laptop or the desktop my husband has. His wallet has the ability to block readers, mine doesn't though.

The V60 is an Android. I'm not sure about that, only the mobile department is closing up shop from what I've read.

I use cash mostly for tipping at restaurants, car washes, etc. Everything else I pay with card.

This post is in my mind. How to get rid of it!

Ooh, that's nice to have both Good Friday and Easter Monday off as paid holidays! Wow! Probably the kids are off for one entire week, either prior to or just following Easter Sunday......

Yes, (Good) Friday and Easter Monday have always been holidays.

For schools, (in normal times), the break is usually 10 days (perhaps starting on the Wednesday before Easter) to a fortnight; roughly the week before and the week after Easter.

I have to make a trip back to Oregon, have some family issues that need resolving. I got my COVID shot record and negative to make the trip a bit easier. Leaving tomorrow.

C-4 would handle your project in short order!

Now, on a proper Aussie farm, you would have had an old shed, with a wooden box of sweating gelignite.
Gently apply the geli to the stump, make it go boom from a safe distance (mebbe the next county) and you solve two problems -- the stump is gone, and the old gelignite is no longer a hazard.

Spring, Easter, daffodils and tulips (saw a gorgeous flower bed or two which played host to both flowers today), and the farmers' market, which I visited today.

A glorious day, hence, I headed into the farmers' market this morning.

Fruit (oranges, blood oranges, lemons, apples, mangoes), vegetables, (tomatoes, lamb's lettuce, aubergine (eggplant), courgette (zucchini), red peppers, green peppers, chard, leeks, onions, carrots, parsnips, baby beets, garlic, olives, anchovies, and parsley, were bought, as was bread from the French bakery, and organic, free range, eggs.

And I treated myself to a few cheeses today, in the cheesemonger's:

Two different types of Gorgonzola Cremosa, Bleu d'Auvergne, St Nectaire, Camembert Rustique, some young Durrus, a young Comte, and Dent du Chat.

It’s been unexpectedly sunny here as well. Been busy in the garden with Mrs AFB. But after yesterday we both have a lot less stamina.
Having a cup of tea, then off for a walk. Mrs AFB might do another load in her new washing machine.

Sounds wonderful. What a nice variety at your farmer's market. Great to have such a good one nearby.
