Woken up by a weird dream: Annoying neighbors shot at my 2013 iMac, killing it; the Apple logo was destroyed. 🤯 Then, the annoying neighbors and their dogs disappeared off the face of the earth. 😂

Granted, the iMac is in the attic loft so they needed a laser sighting to shoot at it through the tiny window at the other end of attic.

What this means about my iMac future ownership I don’t know, but I’m there for annoying neighbors to disappear forever.

~ So glad I do not take drugs. ~ Good morning! 😝

I may have helped mom understand how to use meditation and such to help her pain. This includes using an iPad to draw (Mom used to be an artist, I am sure my artsy side is from her). She finally agreed to accept the 2020 iPad Air and I reordered an 11” iPad Pro for me. It will be great showing her how to use the pencil, it might help her essential tremor in her dominant hand too.

Drawing really helps me stay calm and focused, plus it’s fun.

Happy Friday everyone!
Good luck with the iPad, your Mum and the interview.
Yes very glad it’s Friday. Enjoy your weekend. 5 hours to go here.

Long chats with mom and sis yesterday and it went really well. Even had a chat with sis about what shows we are watching and joked about my issue with spoilers - sent her the hallucigenia worm youtube video for a laugh. I then found out she doesn't know who the actor Jenna Coleman is and sent a message to my niece (a big Dr.Who fan) and we had a laugh at her expense.

Things are looking up here for me...I wish the same could be said for mom.

Humbled to be working on my first digital art commission (Very nice cosplayer asked me to draw him suited up.)

I always dreamed of being an artist once I fell in love with comic art many moons ago.

Looking to up my game with the skills I must hone, but am so glad I put in an order for an 11” iPad Pro - the extra RAM is a must for drawing in Procreate (Mom will get my 2020 Air, I hope this will help her even just a little bit.)

I hope everyone is having a great Monday. 🤗

My grandpa is getting eye surgery tomorrow to fix his dislocated IOL. Going to be on edge today because I know we are going to be getting a call today as far as what time to report, etc. just ready for the week to be over with and that everything goes well.

Monday is my least favourite day of the week. Not surprised you got the commission. You are very talented.

@heyyitssusan Hope Granddad’s surgery goes well.

@Apple fanboy May your Monday be done soon. And thanks for the kind words. 🤗
Nearly lunchtime here. I’d like to say that means we are halfway done, but I know what I’ll be doing this evening!
At least it’s not raining so I can go clear my head for 30 minutes for a walk.

Went out early for my walk this morning and as I got about 400 metres from home the heavens opened and I got soaked. Rain is forecast for today so take a light jacket with you just in case.

First thing I use the cross trainer. 35 minutes most days.
However one of the neighbours stopped us for a chat so my lunchtime walk was short. Just a mile and a bit.

Best wishes for your grandpa.

Eye surgery is weird. I have had two cataracts and one retinal detachment. You are conscious throughout the whole thing, but they sedate you to the point you can hardly move. Then you have to wear these ultra-unstylish wrap-around sunnies for the next few days when you are outside.

The cataracts were ok, but the retinal re-attachment had one disturbing aspect. The eye doctor and the anaesthesiologist (he's there because of the heavy sedation, they need to make sure they haven't sedated you too far...) were chatting. Now, you would expect they might be talking about work, operations, eye problems and the like, but no. They were talking about the best sort of pebbling to cover their back patios with. If it wasn't for the sedation, I would have liked to have piped up and said "Oy, concentrate on the work here, please!".

Getting home is on my mind or at least to my native home, man its not easy. Mum is 83 years old and has respiratory problems so I waited for her to have both vaccinations and then booked a flight from Philippines to London via Turkey. Then the UK Government put Turkey on the red list and Turkish Airlines cancelled all flights into the UK. So I have rebooked with Etihad via Abu Dhabi and Dublin. Supposed to fly Wednesday fingers crossed.

I contacted the office of Boris Johnson for assistance last month. I received an email advising my concerns would be forwarded to the correct department. I then received an email from the Foreign Office saying they are not the correct department and my email had been forwarded to the Department of Health and Social Security...............who then replied saying that due to current circumstances and high volume of work with the pandemic they could not reply to my email and apologized for the downgrade of service.

I think that pretty much says **** you so thanks UK Government. Still I persevered I have my ECC from Philippines Immigration (Exit Conformance Certificate). Waited 2 hours for it not because of any major inefficiencies in the system, the cashier was late for work apparently due to traffic so there was no one to take the money!

I had booked hotel for quarantine as I am traveling from a red listed country but of course having Turkish Airlines cancel my flight I had to resubmit the request as my arrival time into Heathrow and flight number have changed. Five days ago I updated the hotel booking company, have I received a response? No of course not. All for the princely sum of 175 UK Pounds per night for a room, three meals a day, two COVID tests, no cleaning service and maybe if I am lucky 15 minutes a day being escorted by a security person while I breathe a little fresh air and take some exercise. Not guaranteed mind you. Oh and a bus to the hotel from the airport and lets see how they handle social distancing for that. Even better after I have finished the 10 days quarantine the bus will take me back to Heathrow airport where I can enjoy the increased opportunity to be infected with COVID rather than have a relative pick me up from the hotel.

I had my COVID swab test today, another requirement for International travel. Despite it being a private hospital conditions were appalling. Sitting outside in the blazing sun waiting to be processed and absolutely no regard to social distancing outside or inside. I stood more chance of contracting COVID by going for the test than I ever would have by just staying at home.

Spitting nails grrrrrr

Guess they have to communicate about something to pass the time? 😂 Yeah, we’ll be looking forward to this being over, since he’s been seeing the edge of his current IOL from cataract surgery years ago and it’s giving him blurred vision, so it’s been rough on us. What’s interesting is that the surgeon is doing this in a hospital (probably due to him being a retina specialist, maybe the hospital just has all the advance equipment that’s needed) instead of at a surgery center like with cataract surgery.

Brilliant news; very well done, long overdue and richly deserved and merited.

I'd still take the reaction over death. Well most days. Ok some days. Maybe its 50/50? ;)

Well, yes, agreed: I think I would still take my nocturnal hot and cold shivers, exhaustion, "brain fog", loss of appetite (for both food and er, drink) and a quite sore arm - courtesy of Astra Zeneca, over popping my clogs with this condition.
