Grocery stores are packed with people, but not goods, because restaurants, schools, etc. are closed. Almost everyone is eating three meals a day at home. Those who need to go to a workplace are taking food along since the usual options are unavailable right now. The distribution system is messed up. More stuff needs to go to grocery stores, because purchase volume is up (see above). Sure, there's probably some hoarding, but I suspect that is having less of an impact than being forced to buy all your food from the supermarket.

Well, we have a constitution. The government can’t just suspend our rights like that. That’s why the court is letting Wisconsin folks go out again.

And it’s pretty packed where I’m at too.

That’s been the trend. There’s a huge demand for going out

Don’t worry it won’t be them tgat get real sick. It will be their elderly relatives who surfer so people can go bar hopping and have freedom.
Madness.

Unless they’re not hanging out with elderly people.

Let’s be real, how many young people hangout with older people??

Courts should let medical personnel refuse treatment to people they suspect willingly put their lives at possible risk, too.
As a medical worker...I disagree entirely. If you don't want to do the job you signed on to do, which is treat everyone...find a different job. Medical workers even have to treat criminals. Cold blooded killers, robbers, abusers...all get treatment if it's needed. Our beliefs and personal feelings...are NOT to get in the way of our job. I am so sick and tired of seeing people say "if you go out, sign a waver to be denied medical care". **** that. I would love to know where the hell people even got that bs talking point from. Because in the medical world...that "waiver"...doesn't exist. It's a fantasy in the minds of people who see people doing things they don't like. My job is to save your ass. Not let you suffer because you did something stupid.

And I find it ironic that a country full of people who want guaranteed access to healthcare for EVERYONE (even if they aren't a legal citizen of the country) there are still those who say people should be denied medical care. Sorry...not how it works. The "healthcare for all" talking point doesn't work when you have people saying it should be refused to people who don't play by the rules. It's not my job to play God and pick who "deserves" treatment based on actions. My job is to basically fight God and do the best I can to keep your ass alive. Guess what? It is almost a requirement in the medical field to be "selfless". I truly hope people who say that others should be "refused treatment"...don't work in healthcare. There isn't room for attitudes like that in our line of work.

I think a lot of states have eased restrictions or completely done away with them.

In my state the “stay at home” order is over thank goodness. Finally.

What’s the first thing you’re doing now that we’re free again? Haha

Continue to stay at home unless I have to leave for essentials and camp on the weekends in remote places.

Sounds like I'm going to be punished for other people's carelessness. Should be fun!

This is my biggest fear right now.

You're completely right. There aren't any young people in the world who have parents or grandparents. Not one.

I don't know any old people, nor does anyone I know. So I think it's a complete myth that people over old people even exist.

And I know more people than you can imagine. Old people? Fake news.

I take my hat off to you and I’m glad I don’t work in healthcare. There’s quite a few people who I would gladly deny treatment to for their selfish behaviour and also their characters that I know personally. But hey, it’s not about them lol.

I’m not going anywhere anytime soon despite restrictions starting to ease. My priority is keeping my family safe. I’ve already got a 6 year old daughter terrified she’s going to come to harm after hearing snippets of the news. When all this is sorted, I can’t wait to go and have a pint down my local pub.

Those that still live with their parents?
Also those who have young children who rely on grandparents for childcare.

Those who have been raised by their grandparents.

Excellent (and, unfortunately, a necessary) post and one that is beautifully expressed.

I don't have grandparents any more but I do see older people everywhere I go.

I tell you, old people are real! ;)

Sometimes I wish, but yeah, never going to happen. Our medical system and its people are way too ethically bound to ever consider such.

Where in the Constitution does it state we have unimpeded freedom to do whatever we want, at all times, regardless of the harm it may cause to others?

I keep seeing this old guy in the bathroom mirror!

And I absolutely respect your decision to remain at home! You are doing what you view as the right choice for you. Hats off to that one! I'm in the same boat with my daughter. She's heard a liiiiiiittttle too much. Do I think this virus is bad? Absolutely, hell to the yes, I think it's a monster. I treated some of these people. I definitely wouldn't want to have it myself. That being said though, do I think it's being blown out of proportion by the media? Yeah...just a bit. They need to shut up about certain things.

What I look forward to most when it's safe enough to venture out? Oooooooh man, I want a haircut 😂 It's driving me CRAZY. But I can still wait for that. If I had to choose between a haircut, going to a bar, movie, or going to a restaurant...you'll see me getting a haircut first 😂

One of my neighbours is a consultant in our local hospital and she worked in infectious diseases for years. She worked with Ebola patients and dealt with those suffering with SARS too. She said COV-19 is worse in that it’s so unpredictable and hard to prevent spreading. I can believe that as a guy I work with has been at home since the end of March, not been out at all except for walks in the fresh air. He tested positive earlier this week after coming down with a cough and a very tight chest. The only place he could have caught it was from his home delivered shopping or deliveries coming to his house. It’s a very scary concept really and I’m giving it the respect it deserves.

I do hate that the media are still giving us the daily death toll which is shocking in its own right, but very little positive news too. We need a balance even if we all know the levels will undoubtedly rise again once restrictions are lifted.
