The only thing I really need JB for now days is SBSettings just so I can hide icons (Stocks, Contacts, Photos).

Since I'm already jailbreaking to hide those icons, I think I will try out Mywi and 3g unrestrictor.

Mywi and probably firewall IP if it is would be updated to block iAd connections over 3G (switched to 200mb/month plan, gotta watch every byte sent now!)

Edit: ohh and of course iFile to copy files to/from USB flash drives and SD cards provided iPad camera connection kit is compatible with iPhone 4.

It is compatible.

How do you do this? I hate converting...

This only works provided you have adequate hardware, in other words you need a 3gs or an iPhone 4 if you want to do this.

Download vlc4iphone, and then just drag and drop your AVI files into your iPhone's filesystem and load the video from vlc4iphone.

You can also play full HD mp4 videos, you can do this without vlc4iphone just by downloading the filesystem viewer ifile

Download ifile, and then drag and drop your HD video anywhere. And then browser your filesystem on ifile to look for the video and then load it up!

PS: AVI files run fine, but HD avi files run choppy.

3G unrestrictor - facetime over 3G (the first real world use ive seen for 3G unrestrictor)

Quick Reply - once you have quick reply, you are never going back to normal texting on the iPhone again

Categories - 12 apps per folder is a bust

MyWi - grandfathered unlimited plan and going on a lot of trips with no internet this summer

Winterboard - Regular app icons are so boring, plus I love taking like 5 or so themes that match each other and spending a few hours making my iPhone look completely different than anyone elses :D

SBsettings - being able to adjust the brightness wherever I am actually is such a nice feature

Tap to Unlock - Saving me .2 seconds every time I unlock my phone, thats like a total of 7 years of my life or something right?

those are my top reasons, but whenever I get bored I go into Cydia and just stroll through the apps until I find one that looks interesting, then all of a sudden I get to use my phone as a completely new device
Anyone who isnt completely stupid when it comes to technology should jailbreak their device, you are paying so much for it and yet you seem to never use it for all that its good for, like clipping the wings of a bird. Oh so sad, *tear tear*

mywi, 3G unrestrictor, and sms tones will be my main reasons. I probably wont mess with winterboard this time around. Then again every iphone I have had has been jailbroken and some how always ended up themed so ip4 may have that happen too.

With all the people wanting MyWi to tether and you wonder why AT&T want to cap the usage.

I use mywi frequently and don't go much over the 2gb cap so its not like I am hogging I just refuse to pay 20/month for a feature that is already built into my phone.

with AT&T charging $20 a month for a feature we could all use under one of the new data plans and still stay under 2gb, you wonder why so many of us are wanting MyWi

are we jumping the gun bit? does anyone even know if the phone can be jailbroken? thats something apple has worked hard to prevent.

Apple wants us to jailbreak silly child!
its a very smart scheme but not something you need to worry about

Mywi
BiteSMS
3G unrestrictor
SBSettings

That's all i need to make the iPhone 4 perfect!

iPhone 4 is "jailbreakable".. the OS is what is jailbroken, and that is already available. My 3G running iOS4 with multitasking+homescreen wallpaper is jailbroken.

Just because the ios4 is jailbroken doesn't mean iPhone 4 is. The new hardware may have slight differences and different encryption...not to mention, it will definitely have an upgraded bottom and baseband that need to be dealt with..
Im sure it will be jail broken soon enough...but until the hardware is available, it won't happen.

Honestly I don't think Apple cares much. Sure they have to say they're working on it. But the reality is, they will sell more phones so long as jail-breaking is still a possibility.

Ive never had the nerve to jailbreak. If there is a 1 percent chance that something bad can happen and ruin my phone, it will happen to me. I like knowing if something goes wrong with my phone under warranty, I can take it it in with no worries and dont have to lie.

Installous.

I could honestly give up everything else it provides ( and I use a LOT), but I could never give up installous.

You cheap bastard..

Because 99cents is way too much for this stuff..
...right?

I sure hope installous never works on the new iPhone....you guys make me sick

If I jailbreak, I will still pay for apps. How does anyone expect for good gaming companies to make hardcore games on the iPhone if they know they won't make any money at it? Pay for your apps!

and the fact that they can get beta testers and get to see what happens when they allow a certain app to circulate without having to be worried about the media saying otherwise because "its illegal, Apple isnt allowing this, its just happening"

It's basically like a worry-free environment where Apple can see what developers are building, what the consumer likes and wants to get, and if something is really appealing, they can buy it from the developer

nobody really loses except those people who think it is morally wrong to jailbreak

I usually like to download the cracked version of a $10 app to demo it and such, and if it is really that amazing that I deem it worthy of being sold for $10 i'll probably buy it
