@whyike:
@comex the waiting after your teaser remaind me the waiting after @i0n1c trolling "elevat0r", if you have something, please release it...

@comex:
@whyike it's almost ready
:eek:

Just watch, I'll be something like: 'We've done it; it's finished ... ... ... we've managed to fix a bug in the jailbreakme site.' Would anyone else find that funny - after all this time, all this suspense, it's just a update to the site. Not laugh out loud, more like OMG,IWESSMM,BAICDILOIWC (Oh my god, I was expecting something so much more, but all I can do is laugh otherwise I will cry).

I just got my iPad 2 delivered today, ONE DAY early so I am ready to jailbreak this baby when it gets released! I hope when he says "Almost done" like it will be ready tomorrow..I doubt Comex is one of those "Sunday is Funday" kinda people who releases things in code

Might want to get on twitter and throw your support behind releasing it. Others are telling him to hold back

@comex JailbreakMe 3.0 will have more value if it is used to JB iOS 5, iPhone 4S/5, and iPad 2 on release day. My two cents :)

@comex for all devices except iPad 2. Wasting this one for just one device isnt worth it IMO. And yes, I own an iPad 2.

@comex seriously, i suggest you preserve this exploit for the next major firmware release. We already have an untethered JB for 4.3.3

That dude skipper has no clue what he's talking about..there is NO untethered iPad 2 jailbreak for 4.3.3 that is out

@veeence: the iPad 2 jailbreak is almost ready.

@veeence: there's no ETA yet. It's also unclear whether @comex will wait for the official release of iOS5 (I don't think he will)

I love that the community is actually saying something. We've heard more this week than we've heard from the scene in months.

I own an iPad 2, and would like a jailbreak ASAP; however, if they keep this exploit hidden, until the final release for iOS 5, then we can have a jailbreak for iOS 5 immediately; which, I admit, does have good features.

If they release now, for iPad 2 users running iOS 4, then, in a few months, everyone: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users, will be stuck on iOS 4 without jailbreak in the near future for iOS 5 .

If they don't release it then everyone using all iDevices can jailbreak iOS 5 as soon as it comes out - I like this idea.

However, Apple could fix this exploit even if the jailbreak isn't released - but it'll be hard as they have to fix bugs, make improvements etc. in combination with finding an exploit in thousands of lines of code - that'll be hard (if they do release the jailbreak then Apple will take a look at which exploit it's using, and fix it - very easy for Apple)

I'd rather have them wait for iOS 5, as I can see more features in the final version: navigation, voice commands / dictation, redesign home screen for iPad and widgets.

This is pure speculation; Apple want them to release the jailbreak now, so iOS5 is unjailbreakable, until they find another exploit; Apple want people to upgrade to iOS 5 - and iOS 5 looks good, as I don't need as many jailbroken apps from cydia, if I upgrade to iOS5.

I suggest saving the following post, it will come in handy.

I own an iPad X, and would like a jailbreak ASAP; however, if they keep this exploit hidden, until the final release for iOS Y, then we can have a jailbreak for iOS Y immediately; which, I admit, does have good features.

If they release now, for iPad X users running iOS Y-1, then, in a few months, everyone: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users, will be stuck on iOS Y-1 without jailbreak in the near future for iOS Y .

If they don't release it then everyone using all iDevices can jailbreak iOS Y as soon as it comes out - I like this idea.

I say release it,

Because now Apple knows there is a new PDF exploit and they might find it themselves before fall. (however it is unlikely, but it would be hard on me personally if I had found two exploits which were patched before release)

However if I were Comex, I'd say my first exploit that I found was fixed, then find another one, so I could release on on the iPad 2 and one on the next iteration of iPhone. I'm not saying this is what he did, just saying that I would do that if I were an awesome hacker.

You guys know there are multiple people working on exploits, and there's a much larger group more interested in jail breaking iPhones than the iPad 2. I'm so positive they'll have a A5 bootroexploit ready for iOS5 and the iPhone 5 by the time it comes out, I'd be willing to put money on it.

Besides apple now knows comex is coming with a PDF exploit. I'm sure if he didn't put it out, they'd fix it before release. Comex has a history of his exploits getting fixed before he can distribute them to a large mass of people.

I remember that screen after the last time I jb my phone with JailbreakMe. I wish Friday could be Funday!

Stupid question - would the jailbreak be for 4.3.3 or 4.3? I've read rumors else where that it would be for 4.3, which would stink because when I replaced my iPad 2, the replacement had 4.3.2.

Can you post a screenshot, as I'm 'stuck' on my iPad for a few days - without iCab; unless I don't get it and the message to downgrade to a previous iOS is what you're talking about - basically, can you explain what looks promising (EDIT: obviously it show the jailbreak is coming - but how?) :)
