When is your MP shipping?

Interesting tip from the Apple rep: don't pay for preinstallation since it costs an extra £16.

Particularly good advice since I'm adding an SSD.

I always prefer to install it myself anyway. All part of the fun.😀

In the US they seem to ship items separately, but not in the UK. It's a shame as it seems to hold things up a bit. I can't believe it saves much cost.

Man, I've been waiting for this thing a long, long time. Optimistic as I was, I already ordered myself an Intel X25M SSD for it in March. I was absolutely convinced it would be released soon 😱
 
I ordered mine first thing Monday when the store had the new machines. (BTO 4-core, 3.20 GHz, 8GB ram, plus Aperture 3) FedEx makes it look like my machine missed the first flight to Alaska and is now waiting in Hong Kong to ship out. Delivery NLT Aug 24th, though I'm hoping I get a delivery notice on Monday. I've been waiting a year for a new machine, and it should last me about six, so three extra days won't kill me.

That being said, how does pre-installed software work? I assumed they just send me a box along with the computer, much like the mini-DVI to DVI plug I ordered. I can't imagine they have tons of different "restore" DVDs with different pre-installed software. I hope the pre-install isn't what delayed my machine! Still could have gotten a student discount just ordering it separately.
 
Same here (Sweden) Initial shipment date where 23:th - Now its shipped. TNT has not got the package yet, just the EDI info. Will go tonight i guess.

Anyone knows where they ship from (Here in Europe) - Is every package going from China or has they already arrived to some warehouse in Europe? How does it look like for you US nerds 😀

Fairly sure that the first batch will be landing in Liege in around an hour. Not aware of any earlier shipment, or one coming via another route.
 
Is anyone able to explain the flight tracker?

My pro is being shipped with TNT, i know the plane has to be in the air (so im told)

so will I be sent / be able to find the flight number from TNT?

How does this work?

Yea. Same thing happened with my Iphone 4, got stuck in Shenzhen (SZ1 i guess?) for four days. It sometimes feels they are on a boat (even I know it takes week to ride the seas..)
I guess they are just trying to get the cheapest logistics possible - meaning filling a whole plane with apple goods (or whatever)

Luckily it would arrive early next week, apple says 25:th but I'm hoping for a quicker delivery, as we all do 😀

Ps. Mafia II will arrive (in Europe) on the 27:Th so its still ahead of schedule for trying out my 2x5770 😀 Ds
 
I looked at my iphone 4 tracking and it was 4 days from HK to Maryland including the weekend, so Monday delivery is most likely IF it leaves HK for Alaska today. If not then Tuesday as predicted. I remember when I ordered my 2008 MP, it came in 2 days from China. No such luck this year.
