It is weird they don't have 64gb.

Just a bit strange. Not a big deal, but it makes you wonder. I'm thinking they may add that to the lineup later.

Maybe it was supply constraint, this being the most popular variety these days?

Maybe

But anyway, i'm going to have go for 128gb then. With the pencil and keyboard.

Geesh this is going to cost me :D
It's exactly the same reason there's no 32GB iPhone.

128GB for sure. I intend to process RAW files from my J4 Nikon camera. Will also read magazines. May also get the Pencil if (and only if) there appears the sheet music writing programme Sibelius for iPad - and this possibility is actually what makes the iPad Pro so attractive to me. I am a music writer in my free time.
But the ability to process RAW files on iPad is really beautiful.

Waiting for the UK pricing to come out, just to confirm that I definitely don't need it!

Me too, but if I can manage on 32g then it could be worth a shot instead of the Air2. Portability not an issue as I have a mini and the performance increase plus pencil may just sway me. Also there is wifi stash for keeping files on, if cloud storage is causing issues.

It is one of the things I do hope to be wrong about, but the fact Apple refer to "Touch iD" and the the "2nd-generation" makes me think it may only have the first. Not saying that the first is drastically inferior but if I were to upgrade, the noticeable features for me that I gained from my 6S Plus would not be present. 1) I have the artistic capabilities of a cruise missile so the pencil will do nothing for me, and 2 I have a retina MacBook so am not overly fussed about having a large iPad. But; lets assume next year the new 9.7" iPad and iPad Pro have all the features of the 6S and newer ones. I would still have to weigh up if I actually would benefit from the larger screen, seen as my mini is basically redundant now my iPad 9.7 is superior in specs I know that whichever iPad I own that has the highest spec will be the only one I use. Which carries on from how my mini 2 became my primary iPad over my iPad 4. Anyhow! I do hope we have the new Touch iD module and it seems I may give a new iPad a miss this year. I wonder if it could be because the Pro is a new product, and as such it wouldn't be next gen Touch ID for it, it would just be Touch ID - while for the iPhone it's an existing attribute and is being upgraded?

128gb cellular space grey with a saddle brown full covered case (if they have one)

No urgent need for the keyboard n pencil

I keep going back and forth between 32GB and 128GB. I know I'll mostly be using this device for illustrating, processing images, and maybe occasionally editing some video, although that's not too likely.

I really wish a 64GB option was available. I don't want to pay $150 more, and I also know I will probably have to factor in the price of a smart cover as well, although I'm hoping the device will fit (albeit snuggly) into the case I currently use for my 11" MacBook Air so I won't have to buy a cover.

Currently on my iPhone I'm using about 30GB of space on my 64GB device. I have everything I need and want on it, and I know I can clear about 7GB of that space used for music, since I use Apple Music now. I guess I'm just worried about how much of the 32GB will actually be usable as well as how large the apps will be that I'll want to be using on it.

Which finish?
Silver. (although rose gold or even white would be nice)

Which Capacity?
128GB WiFi.

Accessories?
Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard + AirPort Extreme

What will you primarily use it for?
Sitting on my home office desk for anything business related. from notes to drawings to Pages/Numbers. No music, video or games.

What of old or existing ipad?
ipad2 demoted to the wife :) *

* or should that read 'promoted' ?

changed my mind - think I'll order a Gold one. Gold looks so nice.

My iPhone I get a 128GB because I want to put all my music on it. It goes with me everywhere, so you never know when you might want all your music, and I'm not paying for Apple Music as of this time. Plus, I never know how many pictures I might take in places without a great connection or an expensive connection to upload, I can keep it all on the device.

However, on the iPad, I don't need to store any music. It might be fun to edit pictures someday, but I probably won't, and they don't have to be stored on it permanently.

Therefore, I primarily need space for Apps and 32GB should be plenty.

Still, Apple makes it hard to choose the 32GB and with 90 percent in this thread choosing 128GB, it might be better for resell later should I need to get a newer model.

IMO, although it's a lot for a storage upgrade, you need to think of it this way - is it worth spending $150 so that you don't have to worry about storage. With 32GB you'll probably run out pretty quick.

I have a 64GB mini 2, which has about 6GB free at the moment, so I'll be getting the 128 (with cellular).

What do you have stored on your mini though?

IF I get one it will be the silver 128GB with LTE so that I have GPS capability. Oh, and the pencil too.

It would replace my Air 2 and be used for a LOAD of stuff that I do on that at the moment.

I like the black front when the device is turned off, but I'll be looking more at screens with white background on my iPad Pro I think, so I'll go with the white front (also no fingerprints). As for the back, silver is just too boring. Gold it is then!

128GB, no cellular (don't even have data on my iPhone...).

Apple Pencil, because that's the biggest reason to get the iPad Pro. Actually, it's the only reason why I'd even consider an iPad at all, because I've had 3 iPads and I haven't kept any of them longer than 6 months. This Pencil should be a game changer with it's sketching abilities.

Smart Keyboard... Not sure about how great it is, maybe I'll wait for 3rd party options.

Will need to check Canadian price before making any decision. And will need to check iPad Air 2 trade in price before making any decision. The Canadian dollar price for 128GB iPad Pro + Keyboard + Pencil will likely be very expensive... i will have to consider other alternative... I also find no justification for buying one...

Get the 128GB, its a big purchase, you don't want to skimp out just to save money just got for the max and then you won't keep worrying you should've got more and can just enjoy it

Who knows how big apps are going to be once optimised for the bigger screen

Still not 100% sure if I am getting one but if I do it will be a 128gb LTE white/silver. I will sell off my iPad air 2 and maybe my rmbp and pick up a 5k iMac. Still not sure though. I wish they wouldn't have gimped it by not having 3d touch when most likely the iPad air 3 will have it.

iPad Pro preorders are approaching and I was curious as to what configurations everyone else had in mind, especially since I'm having a bit of difficulty making a decision myself.

I don't think I'll be doing any serious note taking on it requiring the keyboard, since I'm no longer in school and have a 2011 MacBook Air which functions very well. I will probably choose the space gray finish since I prefer the black bezels for viewing video content. I'm very interested in the drawing aspect of it since I do design work, so I will definitely be getting the pencil. I just don't know if I should spring for the 128GB model. $799 for the iPad is kinda the sweet spot, but I don't know if 32GB will be enough.

So the questions are:

- Which finish? (Silver, Gold, Space Gray)

- Which Capacity?
(Wi-Fi 32GB: $799
Wi-Fi 128GB: $949
Cellular 128GB: $1079)

- Accessories?
(Apple Pencil: $99
Smart Keyboard: $169)

- What will you primarily use it for?

Will the iPad pro + cellular be able to be subsidized through carriers ( AT&T next ) ?

IF I do get one, I'm going to go with a 128 Space Gray, LTE model. Obviously I would get the keyboard and the pencil, those are some of the selling points.

Thing is the keyboard looks like the Smart Cover, which only covers the front. I need to get something for the back as well.

If there was an iPad Pro Mini (Aka Air 3) I'd order the 128GB in Silver.. I love everything about the pro except for the size (ironically).

the ipad pros website makes a mention of a mini 4 style silicon back cover being offered.
