White iPhone 4 DELAYED. Officially

I don't understand why people want white iPhones anyway. They are so fugly looking. I can't imagine trying to watch something on it with a huge white frame around the screen.
I much prefer black but the white iphone should have a black front and a white back. Just like the black and white cookie!

i dont think it was a lie, i think more or less Apple was given word by their manufacturers that the white iphone should be able to be shipped by the end of the month, but in the end Apple took that as a definite and well something went wrong in the manufacturers side and now it makes apple look bad....again.

i dont understand people, you do not pick the phone you pick the service, and then the phone. This is why there are sooo many people complaining about ATT because they switched only because of the Iphone, not checking if the service is good in their area. I wanted the iphone, but the best service i get is tmobile so what did i do, stuck with tmobile and got lucky that the iphone became unlocked (up until the iphone4 for now).

Why don't those of your that really, really, REALLY, want a white iphone 4 just buy an official white back from many of the supplies out there.

Yeah total nightmare indeed, phone barely been out a month, and they've sold 3 mill, and more millions to come, yeah worst launch ever, epic fail on their part, only 3 million sold in one month, never seen such an epic fail of a launch
The iP4 has the highest % of sales to existing customers than any previous iPhone - which is good for Apple...but what that means is all the problems have dampened the enthusiasm of new customers joining the iPhone family. You combine that with the ever improving competition and it is not good for Apple.
I think they're probably adding one station to their assembly line. That station adds an insulating coating to the external antenna (or some other mitigation of "the gap"), which will greatly reduce the problematic signal attenuation. That, and they get a grip on the white paint quality-control issues.
The white phones hit the market and show much less signal loss. Silently, the black phones get the same improvement. And the free case offer comes to an end.
People with original-issue black phones got a fantastic phone and a free case (if they wanted or needed one). In the white phone era, the free case is no longer available and the phone signal issue drops (no pun intended) off the radar.
Everybody wins.

with how the world has come along to this point, i dont think there is a WANT vs NEED argument anymore, it is now in the eyes of people that if they want something, they need it.
its supposed to come out January 2011 so if by a few weeks you mean 5 months....
Every since the iphone come out it been "coming" to VZW in a few months or "later this year". It hasn't happened yet but people still hold on to their hope. I would hate to count all the dates it was "suppose" to be released with them..
chillax, just think how much more you'll enjoy it without worrying about discoloration and possibly, an updated antenna fix.

Somewhere on this site there was a discussion about some woman over in Britain who, in fact, already has a white iPhone4. I will probably never find that article again but I know I saw it. Something like Apple gave her a choice of white or black and she chose white.
She probably does not realize that she has the only white iPhone in existence and how rare it is. If she were to put it on ebay, I bet it would fetch 20-30 grand easily.
