White iPhone 4 DELAYED. Officially

here is some more koolaid for people going crazy over the white iphone, remember this is hypothetical.

Go back to earlier this year when Gizmodo bought/stole/borrowed/raped an iphone 4 and leaked it much to the dismay of apple who releases an iphone every summer thus far, with all the problems that this iphone has seen, doesnt it now sound more plausible that the iphone 4 was not coming out this summer until it got prematurely shown around the world like a cheap $2 hooker? And instead was slated for a holiday release, thus pushing back all iphone releases. But because of Gizmodogate, apple was forced to release the phone early to get over the loss of revenue from the 3gs and even the ipad (since iphone 4 specs are wayyyyyy better) because the black iphone is out now, apple might have planned either to delay the white for holidays to go back to their original plan or they see a better opportunity for HUGE profits, first black iphone in summer `10, White iphone4 in winter `10, updated ipad at start of `11, then iphone 5 in summer of `11 or winter. That is a huge opportunity for profits.

by the way, this would make an interesting poll, see how many people gave up and ordered and how many people are going to wait for the white iphone.

Yep:

27" iMac flickering display - nothing wrong...then silently release several firmware updates.
27" iMac Yellow tint - nothing wrong...then starts issuing 15% refunds
iP4 Antenna - nothing wrong...just don't hold it that way
iP4 Reception - nothing wrong...but now we made the bars bigger for you to see
iP4 Proximity Sensor - still working on that
white iP4 - will be out by July....never mind...later this year
Safest browser on the planet...never mind...auto fill will share all your secrets with anyone.

Not to mention the many MacPro users that have been waiting for an update for nearly two years.

I was going to buy an iMac this past spring but held off due to all the quality issues they experienced. I am hoping that the refresh due soon is of higher quality than the iPhone4 mess.

That said...I bought my dad an iPad and my wife a MacBook Pro and they are both flawless devices that are beautifully manufactured and a joy to use.

history doesnt mean anything....remember apple was the company that stood against who they are today, so try again please. Apple also said it wouldnt get into the cell phone business some years back to btw

  1. For the easily confused, the comment concerning popularity is about the two colours and their PAST performance. It isn't that the black iPhone 4 is more popular than the white iPhone 4 but that black iPhones in general has been more popular than white iPhones.
  2. For those calling Apple and Steve Jobs liars, Steve Jobs is a CEO and there is no evidence Apple lied. Let me reiterate: Steve jobs is the CEO of Apple. He's not an engineer and he almost certainly was just repeating the time estimate he was given. He did not lie, he simply repeated a bad estimate. Likewise, Apple did not lie to you or anyone else. A bad estimate is not a lie, it's a bad estimate.

So the manufacturing process turned out to be more difficult than they expected, so what? It's a relatively new process and the colour has turned out to be tricky. Really, the colour. Who really expected Apple to foresee that the colour of the front panel would produce this much trouble?

After this post, there are still posts made after about how Steve Jobs is a liar and black is popular because it's the only color available.

well if the exclusivity ends before December 21st or 23rd then were good, we can all enjoy iphones on different carriers for a couple months before we go bye-bye
 
Well, I caved and just ordered 2 Black phones.

I was holding out to get 1 Black for me and 1 White for the wife originally. It was gonna be Smoke Monster vs. Jacob all over again in my household (for all you Losties).

But now I am just super excited to get them on order!!

Apple has looked worse. This is nothing compared to when they announced the 500Mhz G4 PowerMac and then had to pull back to 450Mhz because Motorola couldn't supply the chips. Worse still, Apple sold the 450Mhz at the same price as what the 500Mhz was suppose to sell for.

G4 Cube case cracking, G4 iBook Logic Board failures, PowerBook Titanium hinges that broke off, 667 PowerMacs that over heated, G5 iMac capacitors oozing toxic crap inside the casing, Macbook splitting casing, MacPro's that haven't been upgraded in a year and a half.

This has ALWAYS been a part of Apple. No biggie. Just relax and enjoy the ride.
