White iPhone 4 DELAYED. Officially

I woke up yesterday expecting to find some good news or positive rumors about the white iPhone4, instead I see that it's been delayed indefinitely.

Decided I was tired of waiting, started getting the numbers of all of my local iPhone4 outlets the try and find one locally. Ended up placing a order through AT&T for 2 32GB phones and called it a day.

I'll either sell my Black ones when the white is available or buy the Digitizer/Back and have it changed out.
 
I've been waiting for this iP4 since the first iPhone was released back in 2006. Have been satisfied using an iPod Touch all this time because I don't do much calling anyway. Mostly just emails/text.

I've been ready to pull the trigger for the past month and today I even went to line-up to order one. I left the line-up because I figure I've been waiting 4 years so I can wait another few months until everything is sorted out.

Such a good point, that's why in the mean time my wife got a white 3GS...she'll get the 5 when all te kinks are eliminated and perhaps it'll be 4g with FaceTime
 
I ordered a 32GB black last night.

If the white comes out this year, I'll try and sell my black one to pay for a white one at the contract-free price.

Otherwise, I'll just buy a white iPhone 5.
 
As soon as I heard that the white model was delayed further, I ordered the black one. When the white one comes out I'll think about selling the black and ordering the white.

I totally agree. I really need a phone now (sharing the iPhone 3GS I have with my wife), and I guess I have no choice but to go with a black one. It sucks! :mad:
 
Sick of waiting for White iPhone so I bought a Black one

I have been so fed up by this manufacturing delay that I finally gave in and bought a black iP4. Searching all of these apple rumor/intel sites has taken over my life. I can't believe I had the patience to wait as long as I did, but I just couldn't go without my new toy until "later this year." The good news is that the day I decided I wanted a black one I walked into Radioshack and bought one! No 3 week shipping wait!!:D

Is anyone else fed up with all of this waiting and is FINALLY giving in?
 
I don't understand all the fascination over the white anyway, but to each his/her own... I preferred the black all along

I guess if it were the other way around I would be waiting impatiently on a black one
 
worse than, antennagate, worse than all the shipment drama, is that many of us delayed our gratification and missed out on the initial pre order to get the white and now we are still in the same boat we would have been if we preordered it.

So we missed the excitement of being the first to own it. The excitement of those first few days where you are a star because everyone wants to see it in person for the first time, and we also missed out on getting the more fashionable and trendy white. Getting the black like we initially would have.

So that to me is worse than any of the other fake "problems"

having been strung along. And now, in most markets its super hard to get one. otherwise we could have been one of the people that got it two days early. Now we are in limbo. cant get the color we wanted, cant even get the color we didnt want. And millions of others have one and we cant even buy one if we wanted to. but we know we COULD have.

I did the same as you. I couldn't wait anymore and found a best buy with a black one in stock so I grabbed it and I am surprised I lasted as long waiting for the white one.

Same here, I ordered one last night, should be here in about a week.

I was willing to wait until the end of July, but I'm not willing to wait until the end of this year!

Oddly, none of that stuff matters to me. I think the excitement of being "first to own" lost its luster when I bought the 1st gen on launch day. For my part, I'm annoyed at waiting for the white, only to realize there may not even BE a white. I'm annoyed at what I perceive as a rush to market on Apple's part.


It's all rather disappointing. I really enjoy new iPhone launches. Or rather, I used to. :(

As rabid as all of the white fans seem to be I am sure most of us would have gotten our phones the day before launch day...*sigh* I know I checked the website on launch day when it went down for update and could have had one easily.

I'm glad you got one. I was pissed when I first started calling around and was told 1-2 weeks from certain stores when putting my name on their waiting list. I was soooooo happy when I found one. I was at the end of my rope!
 
Nope. Not because I'm so eager for ip4. It just messes up my upgrade cycle if I wait.

Yeah I checked with every best buy within an hour of me and drove 40 minutes to nab the last one in the area. I got super lucky..

Some of us crazies just think that it is traditional apple if you go back to the iPod. I think the black looks like almost every other smartphone on the market and doesn't stand out.

BTW.....GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I looked into that but I want it to look OEM. Gelaskins can make a custom back skin, but I can't find a good picture of the back of a white iPhone that is high enough quality in .jpg format...ARRRRRGGGGHHH
