I don't get this. In my mind all I see is a production line of iphone 4s, but instead of black paint, you replace it with white paint, that's how most products are painted. I really don't see the problem here apple, so what if a tiny bit of the backlight shines through? They may as well not release it now, unless they want millions of angry white iPhone 4 owners when they hear about the 5th gen iPhone a month later.

Oh man, I totally called it on this one- I tried to track down the thread but couldn't find it. It was in a discussion about the Mac pro update. I was joking about Steve talking about the "Awesome" new direction Apple is going, and started it off with him telling everyone that the white iPhone 4 would once again be delayed- this time until March. The whole point of the joke was that if it's going to be delayed that long, they might as well just focus on the iPhone 5 instead... I can't believe it really happened this way. Who's going to buy a white iPhone 4 when they know the next version is only a few months away?

I think the white iPhone looks like crap. I thought that from the beginning, so if they don't release it, it's actually a good thing.

No loss. They're having blockbuster iPhone sales as it is. The white version is just gravy at this point. Those who are taking it too personally can slum it with Android or one of the other also-rans.

Great move. If the white iPhone is a problem then just "move" it to spring of next year, when everyone will be going crazy over some leaked photos of the "new" iPhone 4S or something. Nobody will want it by then anyway.
And, if the white iPhone will still be a problem in 2011.. then just quietly kill it by making the next iPhone come only in black.

If this comes out in the spring, then I would assume that the rumors of a CDMA iPhone releasing in the first quarter are true and probably delaying the white iPhone...and if that released it first quarter I would assume that a "iPhone 5" wouldn't release until 1st quarter 2012 shifting iPhone releases from June to January...idk just my opinion...

Why bother announcing it to being with. If you cannot get the manufacturing right or some solution before release or near after announcement, then why advertise it to begin with.
This entire issue sounds off, if they did not have a white iPhone 4 in production to make sure there are no problems with it, then the above statement should have never occurred.
