Okay, I'm going to ask this again, because TBH I really don't understand.
Why do you need the new iPhone on the release date?
Really. Why? Why is it so important that you get angry, frustrated, and irate over a freaking phone because you have to have it on the release day.
What ever happened to patience? Is it really so hard to wait a month before you get it? Will your life end over it? I doubt it.
I understand being pissed about Apple canceling pre-orders, thats legitimate, but really, why such the clamor for pre-orders? Has our society really gone that far down hill that when we don't get what we want right away its suddenly an outrage? It just reminds me of little kids with grabby hands that want everything, and then throw a temper-tantrum when they don't get it.
Personally, I believe it's more than what you state. The average consumer/voter/American/etc is sick of big business screwing over the general population. Whether it be the banks or oil companies, businesses are now taking the power out of the consumers hands and forcing the consumer to follow their rules. Certainly becoming irate over a simple device that didn't exist a few short years ago is ludicrous. If these efforts were better spent in volunteering in shelters or benefitting humanity in some sense rather than commenting on boards (guilty here), the world would make sense. However, given the recent socio-political climate, I believe most individuals are tired of being screwed by "big business". AT&T has a monopoly on a device, a device that many use with ease on their Mac's and MobileMe accounts, a device that is locked into iTunes for overall usage. It's not just the phone, it's the principle behind AT&T's actions (as well as the immoral and improper actions of many other "big business" organizations), policies and inability to adopt the old adage "The customer is always right".
