Taking half a day off just to receive shipment for a cell phone?
I don't mean to single you out, but people need to chill here. IT'S JUST A PHONE. Are your people's lives going to end if you can't get it in your hands the 24th?

I guess you live in an apartment complex with a doorman who can sign for stuff, right? Some of us have to take time off work if we are having sign-on-delivery goods shipped to our house. Some of us just wouldn't rely on a box sitting on a our front door step for eight hours without catching the wrong kind of attention.

Just got through... mine still says prepared for shipment. Thank god I'll get mine the day of release so I can struggle trying to activate it with all you guys until mid-July when everyone has one anyway.

what i don't understand is that, if they had the white phone already out at wwdc why can't they have any for launch...

i mean did they run out of white paint??

wth just tell us when they will be available..

i think what they expect is for people to settle for the black one and then buy a white one at full price.. i don't understand why they're being so silent on this..

Interestingly, I was able to reserve a 16 GB iPhone 4 through the new Apple Store application for $199. It verified my account, which left me perplexed. I phone Apple today and spoke with a rep who informed me that many customers who are NOT eligible for an upgrade were erroneously allowed due to server overloads. Regardless, I have the $199 price reserved and if Apple states there was a mistake, they HAVE to honor the price commitment (used to work at Apple as a Genius). So if any one else is in this situation, Apple's policy states that the $199 price must be honored if the customer was erroneously allowed to pre-order/reserve their iPhones.:

I said there was a glitch the day pre-orders started. I was able to order three phones at the low price and plan on selling/giving to friends that can't get one the day it comes out or going to eBay. There absolutely was a glitch.

CNET said this entire mess is all thanks to AT&T. Knowing them and Apple's relationship hasn't exactly been the best, its a possibility. So glad I'm getting an Android device soon.

Yes, I've joined the "dark side..."

snip.................
If this doesn't turn out well, I will take my family to Verizon. The only reason I'm with AT&T is because of the iPhone, but the reality is, what good is a phone IF YOU CAN'T MAKE CALLS?

Consider waiting as big V will have the iphone toward the end of the year. :). That's why AT&T is trying to lock in as many people as possible right now.

LOL about your service in LA. I had a similar experience and returned the iphone before the 30 day grace period was up. AT&T service really is the pits.

cheers to the aapl longs

I heard that if you check your order status more than 3 times in one day they will delete your order.

Careful folks.

Not enough white plastic compound in China, we need to ship them more white plastic to recycle

You would give up the iPhone for android because the most anticipated phone in the world ever at this point because it had a shipping delay? Where they do that at?

No. I'd give up the iPhone due to Apple being irresponsible as hell about this launch and giving no consideration at all to their customers. I sold my iPhone 3GS to buy a white iPhone 4. Had Apple given ANY indication at all that they'd not have a white iPhone at launch, i wouldn't have sold my 3GS yet. Even now, we hear NOTHING from Apple. Nothing.

I reserved one for in store pickup and after I didn't think the order went through 6 hours later, I ordered one for delivery from Apple.com. My order is now missing when I check the status on Apple.com. WTF???

Luckily a day later, the email confirmation came through for the reservation, but the online order is now completely gone. It doesn't even show a status.

6/24 is going to be a disaster.

Call the Apple Store where you reserved it. I did this and received confirmation that they did indeed have my reservation there; I got the name of the agent I spoke with and I'll be bringing that with my printed out reservation to the Apple Store at 4am to ensure I get my iphone 4

Has anyone tried calling *639# again? mine is saying I can't get an upgrade till 11/11... So my Order must have been processed. Checked my order stats at apple and it now says prepped for shipment. My credit card has also been charged. I also got a Welcome To AT&T email this afternoon, even though I have had my account for 4 years.

I hope this means It will ship soon!

At the time of my post both my AT&T and Apple orders are still good. AT@T says pending with back order yet when I called it's ready to ship. My Apple order remains prepared to ship. Keeping my toes crossed.

If AT&T is the source of the foulup, check your contract end date. If it was changed (mine now says June 17th, 2012), there could be a good chance you will be OK.

Aren't you people who's order is ready for shipment worried that their phones might be defective?
I mean I'm sure Apple would replace them but still, I would be worried.
