I'm ready to have a white 32GB iPhone 4 in my hands! Never had any issues with yellowing from my white 3GS or my 4 year old white macbook or almost 8 year old white iBook. The white just looks cleaner.
I was really hoping the rumored "second launch" mentioned on BGR at Apple Stores on July 7 was going to be the white model... My wife and I are still thinking about getting there early. I already have my black 32 ordered through AT&T, but she has her heart set on white.
It just seems odd that the Apple Store would be opening an hour early again and everything just for another stock of black. But who knows... Would be a nice surprise.

Same here. My 3G never yellowed a bit.
I don't think it's too odd. The iPhone 4 is still in great demand. I can definitely see another early opening for the second batch.
Considering Apple said no white iPhone 4s until second half of July, I think you'd be hardpressed to hope for one on the 7th.

Good luck, my friend. I did that when I sold my touch for the 3G and had to wait two weeks for payday. I know the feeling.
For one very simple reason, clearly illustrated by so many people on this thread, I'm expecting the white iP4 to be available as late as possible in July, possibly announced on 26th or 27th, but not available until 30th.
The reason? Apple have had manufacturing issues with white, so they delayed it. They hadn't expected demand to be so high for it, so were probably prepared to launch it as soon as it was available. However, because of the interest in white, and because they've learnt that there are so many scumbags out there who bought black WITH THE INTENTION OF returning it for white, they simply don't want to do that. The 30 day return policy isn't for 'I don't like the colour'. It's for 'I don't like the phone'!
So if they can avoid having any significant proportion of the 1.7 million phones sold in the first three days returned, or attempts made to return them, they will.
So, thanks to all of those morally defective people who think that Apple owes them a temporary phone until the colour they wanted comes out, I don't get mine until the end of July, because I'm waiting.

Same here with my 3G, 3GS and old Mighty Mouse. Never yellowed at all. If that is what is holding anyone back from getting a white one.. quit worrying about it, it won't yellow.
Do the Apple or AT&T stores have the white model on display? I know it won't be out until later this month but was hoping to see it in person. Right now I'm leaning toward the white. But if I don't like it when I see it in person and go with black I'll be bummed I waited weeks for nothing.
You know, I've been hoping that the phones would be available next Thursday/Friday (mid-July), but since the PR announcement said "in the second half of July" and not MID-July, that can mean anything from July 16th through the 31st. Given Apple's track record, along with what you said about returns, I really think the chances of the white iPhone going on sale before July 31st are pretty slim.
I guess alot of black iPhone users are trying to convince themselves that they made the right choice in not waiting for the more desirable WHITE
Not really, I had a white 3GS and liked how only the back was white, not a fan of the white front. I wanted black this time.
The issue was for the initial production run. It's been an issue on the white Macbooks, iPhones etc. I think it's good to wait and see as I'm in no rush. But it's been an issue with Apple. In fact, there have always been issues for the initial shipments on Apple products. It's one the downsides to getting an Apple product first.
I don't know about now, but my Apple store did not have a white iPhone on display on release day.
