new issue, if anyone can give me some insight:
I re-calibrated last night, and the battery went back up to 100%. This afternoon when I got home, it was back down to 99%. Is this normal?
I guess so..mine was in 93% for a few weeks, now it is on 97%...it is not always ""regular" I think..
DOes anyone here trade the original hdd for a 7200rpm one?how does it impact on battery lifetime?I am thinking of trading mine for a 500gb seagate 7200rpm
I have a feeling that there will be more post like mine soon (unless apple updates their macbook pro's).
I've had my PowerBook g4 for 5 years, and I was pretty excited to upgrade to the MBP with my tax return. I just can't justify the extra $500 for the top 13" when it's just because of 2gb of ram and small processor bump.
I can't wait to pick up my new laptop tomorrow!
Mine is horribly scratched up on the entire case and the bottom case is discolored, all I do is use it and ocationaly take it out and about,i have it in a thick laptop bag though and I even have a neopreme sleve it's in inside the bag,of and my hinges are screwed up from falling off my bed to the floor a foot away.I'm really disappointed and fear it will be dead within a year. The lid rubs really bad and now my wifi is as fast as it used to be when I got it.My first Intel Mac and I have tons of problems.
haha, thanks![]()
It really is an easy machine to use, I was surprised at how easy it was to set up and to get comfortable with it. For the most part, I'm doing everything I was on my windows notebook, it's just the little things that most people take for granted that I'm having trouble getting used to. Like copying files (option key needed to help with that), and organizing, figuring out where things go on the harddisk (like how most programs in windows install to the program files directory)
But, man, it's really easy so far, just a few more days and I think I should be up to speed with everything I need to be.
Though... I don't know why they gave me two apple decals, I don't have any idea what I'm going to do with them.
Agreed. Tired of waiting and am REALLY close to pulling the trigger on a MB. Only thing really stopping me is the possibility that they get refreshed too.
I dont think the MB's will get a refresh until later this year or early next, they just updated them in October, like 5 months ago. MBP's will get the next update for sure....I just got the new PolyCarb Uni MB, its a beauty!
How is the palm guard for you? you like it? buy from apple or else where? also, nice mod, the keys light up?
Sorry for the questions but very cool!
I like the palmguard a lot,it is "rugged" wich makes my macbook much more "usable" without fear of scratching it,although the trackpad protection isn't that cool,it makes it loose some sensivity at taping.
I bought it from ebay because my local "apple store" didn't have it,and moshi site didn't ship to portugal I think...
They keys don't light up because I only changed the keys, not the entire keyboard...I think "our" logicboard misses the connector for the "lights",but someday I'll check..maybe when the warranty passes![]()
Agreed -- And while the average # days for upgrades on the MB is 194, you can see that from the other products at the end of their life-cycle, Apple has chosen to go far over the average lately.
It's a feature, leave it alone!
If your device charges to 100% every time the battery is slightly used, then the lifespan of your battery becomes shorter. Mac OS is specifically designed so that it does not charge until the battery charge reaches a certain point (<95% I suppose). That's how they can boast the long lifespan of their internal batteries.
Once again, leave battery management to the device. No micro-management required. That's the entire point of a mac!
I got my macbook yesterday, and I've noticed that the fan never actually stops. iStat Pro says that it idles ~2000, even when I first start it in the morning (no warm components). Does this happen with your mb's too?
So has anyone tried installing
8gb on this badboy?
I really would love to know if it works or not.![]()
