Brasso does help a lot with the scratches but if your not careful it will get in between the apple logo and the top cover i found that out the hard way and the only way to get it all out is to take it apart but its not that noticeable im just ocd

Dont miss the external battery lights... Never saw a use for them how accurate can 5 lights really be 20, 40, 60, 80, 100% is all they ever did.

Well, I finally bought a mac. I was thinking about purchasing either a macbook, or the 21.5" imac which, in canada, is only about $50 more than the macbook I purchased (4gb ram, 320gb HD) and, I have to say, I absolutely love this computer so far.

I'm still figuring it all out, I just realized what the option key was and what it was for :p, but for someone who hasn't used a mac since highschool, which was a good 10 years ago, this is great.

It's blazing fast. Faster than the notebook I have sitting on my desk, it handles things a lot better than I thought it would, and also the 13" screen is less of a bother than I thought it would be.

All in all I'm really happy with my purchase, and my first mac, it'll probably take me a few more days until I'm fully comfortable with it, but... so far, so good :)

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome back to the light side. :)

haha, thanks :)

It really is an easy machine to use, I was surprised at how easy it was to set up and to get comfortable with it. For the most part, I'm doing everything I was on my windows notebook, it's just the little things that most people take for granted that I'm having trouble getting used to. Like copying files (option key needed to help with that :p ), and organizing, figuring out where things go on the harddisk (like how most programs in windows install to the program files directory)

But, man, it's really easy so far, just a few more days and I think I should be up to speed with everything I need to be.

Though... I don't know why they gave me two apple decals :), I don't have any idea what I'm going to do with them.

I use Windows occasionally (the Mrs. is a PC user) and I have the same problem with trying to remember how things are done. I've been using Macs so long that most of it I don't even think about anymore. I'm sure you'll figure out something to do with the stickers. ;)

Hey guys, got my macbook two days ago -- love it! You'll probably hate me, but I had to Bootcamp WinXP on it (for work reasons, so I dont have to switch between computers) -- Surprisingly, it runs extremely fast, so I'm double happy.

Question, though. After calibrating the battery once, and then letting it fully charge back up, I've noticed that "Fully Charged" only goes to 99%. Is this normal?

Thanks!

How do you calibrate the battery?

Has anyone who opted for the 500gb HD noticed any problems or better performance speed wise? I've read that a larger capacity HD is faster even at the same RPM. And according to some benchmarks (can't find the link) the MB with 4gb and 500gb HD performed almost as well as the stock 2.53ghz MBP. Anyone know if this is true?
