Just wondering how many already owned an iPad 1 or 2 and decided to pick up the Touchpad as an additional tablet.. :)

There are quite a few of us. I own an iPad and 2 iPad 2's. Got 3 of the Touchpads. One for me and the other two for family members. It doesn't matter if WebOS is dead or not, cause at 100 bucks, it is a great ultramobile websurfer and video player. Something I could care less gets scratched up or dropped. Unlike my iPads.

I wanted one, but they were gone fast at those prices. I am already content with the Pixi Plus (AT&T) for $60 which I got brand new and prefer seeing the name Palm on it instead of HP. I'm not much of a tablet fan. I'm more of a cell phone guy.

But for anyone who picked it up, I say ENJOY! A low risk/high reward gamble. It will make a great spare tablet to your iPad. You are not losing much and webOS is such an underrated platform simply plagued from bad hardware and bad miscues from HPalm. QNX and webOS is the future of how multitasking will look like and don't be surprised if iOS or Android take cues from webOS just like what QNX did. TouchPad is basically like a bigger and less polished version of the BlackBerry PlayBook at a much better price.

Make sure to download Preware and check PreCentral forums or YouTube videos to help you. It can take days to get into any OS and understanding it. Overclocking using Uberkernel/Govnah or adding patches should polish the hardware issues a bit. You can overclock TouchPad to 1.5GHz. The webOS homebrew community are a passionate bunch. Enjoy Palm's swan song...

I bought three today when the deal for the Smart Buy small business branded ones came up for sale on amazon. I hope they don't cancel my order for getting multiple ones!

The first thing everyone needs to do with their touchpad is install preware and install the logging patches (and the overclocking kernel if you desire). It makes an absolutely huge difference in the speed and fluidity of the tablet. The alternative tabbed browser is also a must.

At the very least, open your dialer, dial ##LOGS# and hit send, then change your logging options to minimal logging. Big speed boost from that alone.
Spoken like a true webOS fan and longtime user of it. ;) The potential gets higher when Preware is installed.

Best mobile OSes (IMO) -
1. QNX
2. webOS
3. Meego
4. iOS
5. WP7
6. Android

iOS might obviously be the most popular with the best ecosystem, app support, and most responsive touchscreens, but QNX and webOS are my favorites and should be the future of what a user interface might look like when battery technology catches up to more advanced multi-tasking. QNX is better at running FLASH, but they did copy webOS even if QNX has technically been around since 1982.

Went to best buy today and bought the last one they had. They also had the free galaxy tab with tv purchase today. I was walking out of the store and some loading their new tv into their truck asks if I wanted to trade my touchpad for their galaxy tab since they have a pre 2 and like web os. Im like sure and he hands me the galaxy tab and I had him the touchpad.

I ordered 2 from Barnes and Noble about 8 hours ago. My status is still "in process: not yet shipped"

In the last hour many people have been posting that they've got emails saying their order was cancelled. We should all be worried! :p

I'm waiting for Amazon to say my order is shipped now the DVD I ordered at the same time. is on it's way tracking number etc. The touchpad order still shows I can cancel it so I'm nervous. My order stats it's coming from Amazon not one of there vendors.

Anyone had their B&N order cancelled? Mine hasnt been, but i havent gotten my second email about shipping, either.

We ordered 2 at around 7:50 am and have not received a shipping notification either. I hope they didn't run out when we ordered them.

I ordered 2 from B&N around 8:00am. Received order confirmation only.

Same here. Does anyone know if B&N takes a while to ship out order confirmations or if they come immediately after purchase? It says they have run out now so I'm hoping we get them.

What I find funny is yesterday around 2:30AM EST it was sales rank 4700 and now it is #1 on B&N website.
