Classy!

I didn't drink for the first three years of college, and I'm pretty glad I didn't. I knew too many people who started off on the wrong foot at school since they were in an environment were drinking was encouraged and not doing so was rather socially awkward.

I drink now when I go out, or sometimes I'll have a beer or two around the house, but I don't explicitly drink to get drunk - just 'cause I enjoy the taste.

'cause I enjoy the taste.

See before I started drinking when I was like 13 or so I used to think that alcohol was gross because my sole experience was with red wine and i'm still not that big a fan, I'd tried beer and it just seemed strong to my noob alcohol free throat, after hanging around with my sister and her friends at university for a week my tastes altered dramatically and now I can drink any spirit direct from the bottle without considering it particularly harsh due to the alcahol content, I used to slowly drink a shot of vodka then drink white wine for the rest of the evening because then it wouldn't seem to harsh, I think that's what got me used to it.

Yeah, I used to think coffee was gross, too, and got all sorts of fancy "coffee drinks". Nowadays, though, I've gotten used to it and just have it black. If you don't like alcohol, you can go the frilly-drink way until you're ready for the harder stuff.

Gave up alchohol 10 years ago. The hangovers were getting to be a price not worth paying. I was so pleased with the results that I've since given up caffeine, cigarettes, milk, etc. In fact I'm running out of things to give up

Milk? What's wrong with milk? Not to impugn your decision, mind you, just curious.

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh that was too funny! I bet you even laughed when typing it!

I knew you and mattscott would enjoy the laugh!

In the 20 years I've been drinking alcohol regularly (with a 6 month period of not drinking any at all) I've been aggressive twice, both times were cider fuelled. Therefore I avoid cider as I know it send me over the edge.

Well, that was part of the caffeine thing. Moved to green decaf tea which is repulsive with milk so it just kind of followed (and I'd never been a milk drinker on it's own anyway).

I don't drink when I go out to bars or clubs and I don't generally drink with a meal in a restaurant either, but I will have one drink during birthday parties, weddings and the like.

I drink black coffee until my heart murmur kicks in... then I switch to beer. Other than that, I try to stick to the four food groups; caffeine, carbonation, sugar, and preservatives. :D

Talk about living life to the fullest and not giving a crap. I salute you with.... with alcohol of course!

But beer is gross. Yuuuck.

People only think beer is gross because you mostly see and smell Budweiser, Miller, and similar bad beers that really are pretty gross. A decent beer or ale is quite a bit different - more nutty/grain/yeasty smell and taste, rather than that stale urine/sulfur that you get in cheap beer.
