Returned the 12 Pro and useless MagSafe charger today. I was really hoping the 6.1 size would be the sweet spot for me, but it’s not.

Once you go Max, you can’t go back.

I’ll be using my 11 PM until I can pre order the new beast on November 6th.

YES YES YES!! hate to say it because I absolutely love the 12! But after the weekend at the moment I’m restoring my iPhone 11 Pro Max... and returning 12 tomorrow. I absolutely love the design off the 12, but I’ve decided I’m going to trade in my pro (instead of selling) and get the iPhone 12 pro max. I actually thought I would prefer them smaller form factor... but It’s starting to bug me already! When I pulled my 11 pro max out, I was so happy again.

it’s so hard when you love a phone design though, I also really prefer the Matt backs, I’ve been using the 12 naked and it keeps sliding out my hand! I’ve also realised I’m not a one handed phone user anyway, so the size isn’t as big an issue as I first thought. Can’t believe I was gonna get the mini!

I agree with this 100%

100% Agree. For months I was saying I can’t wait to downsize and get the 6.1 Pro as the Max was uncomfortable to hold sometimes but like the old saying goes you don’t know what you have till it’s gone. I miss the Max size especially for typing. Retuning the 12 pro tomorrow and waiting for the 12 Pro Max

Small update from me, I’ve got more used to the squared edges now and it’s not bad

still, returning the regular 12 tomorrow.
Will stick with the 12 pro for another week or so but likely will return.

Im going to decide between mini and max this year.

I am really looking forward to the mini

I think I’m just used to the 11PM battery life. Everyone else about the smaller 12Pro is great.

I get 2 days out of my 11 pro so guess i would be sweet, main thing i am looking for before i swap is better reception in fringe areas.

Already returned my 12 p and went back to using my 11pm. No killer features IMO and I don’t like the form of it - the flat edges don’t sit as nicely in a human hand compared to round edges of my 11 pm.

While I am going to miss the max screen size I am sticking with the 12 pro. I am tired of caring the max size phones around, the battery while not as good is getting substantial better by day 3. At the end of the day it's a phone, I am not a heavy user and utilize my Apple Watch a lot and don't use my phone for media much as I work from home and have other devices for this. Happy with my 12 pro and how it's so much easier to handle one handed.

While I like my 12 Pro, I do have to agree that the rounded edges feel slightly more ergonomic. The flat edges are just...... new. That’s it.

I’m glad I never tried a phone that big. My 8 Plus is probably a similar size physically but has a slightly smaller screen than the 6.1” iPhone 12. I’m enjoying the fact the slight size difference has meant carrying the device is more convenient. I got used to the 8+ in use but christ it was a pain to carry in my pockets. I’d always have to take it out when sitting down, especially in the car. The iPhone 12 is shorter and narrower and much nicer to carry I’ve found.

because we can upgrade every year! Lol Battery life usually gets better every year and you get one that’s at 100% health! For a heavy user that is key. Plus a difference is still a difference no matter how small, right?!
I’m not a heavy user so that is not a consideration I make if I’m honest. I’m in front of a computer most of the day so my phone is only used sporadically and in the evenings. I wouldn’t be losing hundreds of pounds just for a little difference each year but that’s just me. My 3 year old phone is about half a second slower than my iPhone 12, so if that’s classed as a worthy difference then I don’t get that in this instance.

I love the new 6.1" size! Initially wanted to go for 12 pro max as I am currently using note 10 plus but boy do I find it tiring to use a "longish" phone. Nothing beats a comfortable day to day use.

The 8 plus was the best phone of the old pluses and the 11 pro is the best of the 5.8" versions, hard to give them up lol.

Not returning my iPhone 12 but absolutely blown away by how my old 8 Plus nearly matches it on speed despite being 3 years old. That A11 chip was a beast it seems.

The OLED screen is nice, but can’t see why so many made out it was night and day better. It’s a bit crisper and the blacks are deeper but hey. FaceID is as quick sometimes as TouchID too which is what I thought. Nice phone the 12, I just can’t see why people upgrade every year when the difference is so small across 3 years let alone 12 months.
You already had 1080p on your 8 plus so the difference will be less stark. People making the night and day comparison are probably comparing it to the almost 720p displays in the 8/xr etc.

Indeed lol. I think if you ask me in 5 years which iPhone I liked the most that I’ve owned, I’d probably say the 8+. I bought it over the XR back in 2018 and never regretted it. It’s been the most enjoyable and reliable phone I’ve owned. A new era now though and I hope I grow to enjoy the 12 over the next 2 years.

I’ve just initiated the return of my blue iPhone 12. I was never convinced by the blue, even once it was in my hands. Used it over the weekend and that didn’t change, and I am not a fan of the squared design when using it either. The only noticeable benefit for me was the improved camera over my iPhone X, but it’s just not enough for me to part with the money. I was looking forward to upgrading this year, but I’ll stick with the X for now, and hopefully find a good deal on an 11 Pro soon.

someone posted this link on how to adjust the color filters on the phones. I haven’t tried this yes, the it makes it sound like you can get rid of any yellowish tinting.

https://www.elixirsoftwaregroup.com/post/2019/09/22/how-to-fix-iphone-yellow-tint

i just tried playing with it and it works. You can reduce the yellow in the screen. Give it a shot.

So i was disappointed with my iPhone 12 pro display compared to my iphone X until i played with this. Then i turned the setting off and it seems to have fixed something and my normal pro display now looks great.

Despite this, im still quite underwhelmed with the performance difference so far. I will likely trade in for a normal 12 and use that for a while. If it feels very similar to the pro ill keep that as the price difference isnt so substantial.

I have now initiated the return of the 12 Pro and i have to praise Apple for how easy this process is!
Just a couple of clicks and then TNT called me to schedule a pickup for tomorrow morning. This is very convenient, especially since i don't have an Apple Store nearby.

Never had to return anything to apple before, so this is a first for me, but i'm positively surprised. Especially since my country has terrible return policies by law.

This gives me the confidence to give the Mini a try too and i hope i'm going to be happy with that one.

So i guess i get to go through the whole Pre-order and waiting for delivery ordeal (which is secretly a lot of fun) again ;)

When you initiated the return, did you give you ANOTHER 14 days to return it from today's date?
