I’ve been using my 11 pro max all day, and not needing to even look at the battery percentage.

if the 12 max lasts the same amount of time, I legit can’t wait to get my hands on one.

12 is heading back with UPS tomorrow!

Not sure if this will help you assess it better but have you tried page zoom to increase the text size in safari?
Tired that text does look better, but prefer leaving the page at 100% zoom, websites look better that way.

I’ll see how I go today, my eyes are adapting to the new screen slowly, battery life seems decent so far, almost 1 hour of usage, only lost 3 percent, by now my xs max would of lost 10% battery life in 1 hour. 🤔

Does ATT refund the activation charge if you return the phone? My billing cycle is up in 2 days, and I'd really rather not pay 2 upgrade fees.

I returned my 12 Pro today. It really didn’t feel like a big upgrade from my X and I didn’t care for the squared edges. I’m much happier with my X again.

Really, I thought the speed alone would be enough of a upgrade, everything is super responsive and I’m upgrading from a xs max, the screen is also 10x better way more contrast, only thing I’m finding hard to get use to is the smaller screen, think I might still return it.

This might not be the best thread for this but I like to avoid making another thread if I can help it. I fear this post will get me some scrutiny but here it is:

Has anyone ever heard of (Or done themselves) a return TWICE with a Phone you got on the iUP?

In my case, I originally ordered and got a Blue Pro 12 in 512 GB that was delivered on launch day. I was actually getting a color I was excited about for once. I still long for a Product Red Pro, but the pacific blue was really appealing.

The first disappointment was actually regarding the case I got, specifically the clear MagSafe case. I was excited to use a clear case because as I mentioned, I was excited about the color this year. But I was not a fan of the clear case at all. It was just way too slippery. So I returned it and went back to a tried and true product red silicone case.

The second issue with the phone was the capacity. I went from 256 to 512 because I was genuinely concerned about how big these Dolby Vision video files would be. I thought I was being smart by playing it safe and get extra storage. (My phone is our families main camera and we have 2 young children.) Little did I know they would require the use of the HEVC codec so instead of the videos taking 400 megs as I had ben use to on my 256 11 Pro, they would in fact only be taking HALF THAT! So I got a phone in a storage capacity I am never ever going to need.

I have been really bothered by the fact that I got the larger capacity phone. I kept debating if it was worth the cost difference to go through an exchange. I mulled over it for a few days as I knew it would be a hassle but yesterday I went to my local Apple Store and did returned my Blue 512 GB pro and exchanged it for a 256 Silver. As expected, it was a bit of an ordeal being as I was on the iUP and all. I had not even sent off my old phone yet so I just brought it in and once my return was finalized, I basically just started again with applying to the iUP and all that.

My issue now, is that I really do not want silver. But it's all they had and it just...bothers me. I know it's stupid and it ultimately does not matter that much but I can't get over it. To the point where it's been almost 24 hours since I got the phone and I haven't even opened it yet. I've been checking stock around me to see if any store near me gets more stock but of course they haven't.

Is it even possible to do another return with the iUP? I guess it would be fine. I'd just have to close out a new loan...again!

It occurred to me as I have typed this up that I could of/should of just returned the blue and just kept my old phone a little longer. Then ordered the one I wanted online or something.

Sigh. Sorry this is so long!

YES YES YES!! hate to say it because I absolutely love the 12! But after the weekend at the moment I’m restoring my iPhone 11 Pro Max... and returning 12 tomorrow. I absolutely love the design off the 12, but I’ve decided I’m going to trade in my pro (instead of selling) and get the iPhone 12 pro max. I actually thought I would prefer them smaller form factor... but It’s starting to bug me already! When I pulled my 11 pro max out, I was so happy again.

it’s so hard when you love a phone design though, I also really prefer the Matt backs, I’ve been using the 12 naked and it keeps sliding out my hand! I’ve also realised I’m not a one handed phone user anyway, so the size isn’t as big an issue as I first thought. Can’t believe I was gonna get the mini!

Same, I still have the 12 pro , I am gonna return next week just in time for pre orders, I love the size of it but I am missing the battery life unfortunately, tho I am excited for the 12 pro max. I got graphite. Tho ima go with blue for the pro max!

I received my 12 today. When I touched it, I immediately became annoyed at the size, even though it’s only slightly bigger than my X. I mainly chose it over the mini for battery life, but now I have the opportunity to get a smaller phone, I don’t see the need to put up with something I can’t completely hold comfortably.

I am nervous about battery life on the mini, though. My X is on 89% health after a year & I’d love the improvement battery life of the 12. I’m kinda annoyed at myself

Man! The battery life on the 12 is shocking but on the perspective that I’m basing it on the 11 max battery haha! See... I’m thinking about graphite 12 pro max!

Me too. Tomorrow it goes back. I will stick with my X one year more. I’ve made an appointment to change its battery and give it a second chance.
I will try to restore its oleophobic coating with a product from Amazon. I’ll tell you if it works.
But I have to tell you that I love the design and color of my ex 12pro

I as well came from 11 pro max it’s just so hard to not have the same battery life I mean it’s not as bad but I just prefer the longer and not having to worry about it.

Honestly I really couldn’t feel much of a difference under normal use.

I played with it and then turned it off, but it’s almost like it corrected something as now this display is suddenly looking much better than the display on the 11. I was also scrolling through photos and everything looks so much better on the 12. I’m starting to think my first impression was wrong. I think I’m going to have to try using it for a few days before I really decide. I did say that if I upgrade again this year I have to keep this one for a couple years!
Couldn't do it. While it ends up looking fine in the evening, during the day when there's lots of bright natural light the screen just looks beige, even with true tone turned off. I tried just using it without comparing it to anything and I still thought the whites look beige and basically hated using it because of that. I'm not forking out over $1200 for a device I don't enjoy. I've initiated a return. Too bad as things certainly looked sharper and if they had got the calibration right I probably would have kept it!

Why not just exchange it?

I just got my 12 Pro, and dang, the phone feels so boxy, sharp edges are truly an inferior design choice, I don't understand why reviewers don't push back a bit more against this design. Sure it looks sexy, sure it looks classic like the iPhone 4, but it's not ergonomic, the sharp edges on such a big phone is just a clear downside to me and I really hope this design doesn't stay with us for too long, I'd really love Apple to go back to round/ergonomic design.

Because of this boxy design I'm actually tempted at testing the 12 mini, it seems the boxiness might be less of an issue on a smaller form-factor (as it was with iPhone 4).

If I didn't get $440 instant trade for my Xr, I'd be severely disappointed in shelling out $799 for the 12. After spending several hours with the 12, not really impressed.

My thoughts exactly...... I want to like it and I do but the battery life on the max phones are not even close and thats a huge issue for me. I am returning my 12 pro and going to wait for the max. I hate doing the return process though.

I just feel like my X has one more year in it. I got the pro and it did feel like a step up, but nothing really wowed me. It sort of felt like the same phone in many ways. If the iphone next year gets the new sensor from the Max model, promotion, touch ID etc then i think it will feel like a huge upgrade. Given the three year design cycle atm and the fact i only upgrade every 2-4 years, i think id really regret upgrading now rather than waiting a bit longer.
