[The whole notion of celebrity is so bizarre. Why are we even talking about these people? They're just people. Like us.
Liar.

:p Actually, Nina Hartley is incredibly down to earth and so sweet. She is VERY genuine and just, dorky, like a shy nerdy girl. She even talks with the slightest lisp. So adorable.

Oooh, the Moonie Times. :D

Yeah - well, I'd go to the events, I'd still not read it. I'd read her copy when she wrote it, not when it was published :D

Oh, and more recently I saw, nudged and briefly talked to Eric Idle at one of the performances of Spamalot in Chicago when it opened there before going to NYC.

D

Not really famous to most people, but they're very good to me-
Dave Spikey. Had a chat with him once.
Paul Daniels.
Nora Battey lives round here.

OHOH actually Paul Scholes lives here too. Down to earth guy (unlike his team mates :p ) always in the chippy. I didn't even know who he was until my girlfriend at the time kept whispering who it was. over my head!

I don't care about them though. Why should I? I don't celebrate them, and in an age where Jade Goody can be classed as "a celebrity"... I just don't care :)

Hmm, I saw Jackie Chan at one of his movie premieres in New York, 1997.

I've seen Radiohead live a few times, so they count. Good ol' Jonny and Thom.

I also saw some guy from Coronation Street (boring UK soap) buying a sandwich at Boots in Heathrow's Terminal 1, 2 & 3 checkin area. No idea who he is but I recognised him.

Me and my friends have drunk all of Radiohead's gig beer about 14 years ago!!:D
Oh, and then told them to f**k off, when they moaned to us, which they did!

The only people I've met happen to be athletes..and I run into them all time especially due to the fact i live in south beach.

Pat riley- ran into him at sunset place, shook his hand and said thanks for what hes done to the city.

Shaquille oneal: He was driving down ocean drive, and everyone started to recognize him, he parked his car and went into wet willies, where I was and has able to give him high five. he is a biiig dude.

Ricky "marijuana" williams: He lived in the same condo where i girl dated used to live in. real humble guy, probably because he was high.

Isn't he (Dennis Conner) the biggest tool ever?
He seemed awfully full of himself (the few times we met)... but his mother is really nice though (she is a family friend).

Then again, the Krocs (McDonald's, Padres) and the Scripps (Scripps Hospital, Scripps Institute of Oceanography) were family friends also (my family has been around San Diego a long time).

That's A LOT of famous people!!!

Are you famous?????
There have been times that I was well known in some circles. I can recall sitting in the stands at one track meet and listening to the people in front of my talk about hurdlers... and my name came up (which was sort of weird).

And I've gotten past quite a few barriers because when people have asked around about me, good things have come back. I got a coaching position (without any coaching experience) and was let into a few math programs that way. More than anything, I just always seem to be in the right place at the right time, and people seem to go out of their way to help me in just about any endeavor I attempt.

But it is fun to play six degrees of separation... and not need six degrees for many famous people. :D

Bill Clinton, waiving from his limo, Greektown, Detroit in 1999

Seen others at events, but just happened to be standing there when Bubba drove by on the way to a fund raiser or something. Lots of cops and guns, seeing his motorcade was very interesting.

ooh, an Coronation Street people live round here too. It's mad actually... all the Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks people who live around Oldham. spot loads of them. Martin Platt stood behind us in the queue for the cash machine once, my mate loudly proclaimed "I'm more an Emmerdale fan myself" :D

Cherie Blair once. It's a mad story nobody believes apart from us in the boat. but we sailed down the River Tame one day and she was in a field.

Patrick Stewart. Went to his university for a day, before realising they messed up and put me on the wrong course.

Mariah Carey, 5 times or so (excluding concerts).
Trey Lorenz, 2 or 3 times.
Diana DeGarmo.
Da Brat.
Haley Joel Osment goes to my school and apparently is on my floor like every day...have yet to see him. But he's in our facebook albums. Strange.
Linda Blair.
The twins from Harry Potter.
