Im 18, my parents pay for my phone bill, i pay for data+text

but data and text are 11 bucks on t-mobile

and i try to find the best discounts for my family

i just found out the college im attending is giving me 15% off my t-mobile bill

I'm 18 and my parents pay my bill...They don't seem to have a problem with it especially since im unemployed and a student in college.

I'm self-employed.
I have my business pay my bill.
It's still ME paying it, but its a write-off.

paleaaaseeeee, i sell iphones to 5-10 yr olds all day, disposable income is disposable income. parents can do with it what they want.

u cant say half the apps werent made for kids anyways lol

Just goes to show you that having a large disposable income doesn't necessarly mean that one is smart.

Kinda like buying a 16yr old a high powered sports car. Not really a good idea.

I'm 21 and I pay for it all myself. Didn't get a cell phone until I was 18 and have never had someone else pay for it. I figure that if someone wants a phone, then they should be able to foot the bill for it. If it's a family plan, I think the cost should be divided up amongst the members.

Well...

I'm 17 and on a family plan. For my iPhone it's $40/month ($10 for an additional line and $30 for data and 1500 text). My parents gave me an allowance of $10/week, but I gave that up for my iPhone instead.

So I guess both of us kind of pay for it - it's money that they would have given me, but directly put onto the phone bill.

My parents decided when I first got a phone that they would pay the cost of the plan for me since we are on a family plan. I am getting the iphone in 2 weeks, and since it goes beyond the basic phone, they said they would pay for everything except data, so I am actually buying the phone and paying the $30 per month. When I turn 18, they are going to have me pay my entire bill.

I have no problem with this either, I have a job and make money, I offered to pay my entire bill, but they were nice enough to pay part of it.

My mom pays, I currently cannot find a job really anywhere so I don't have much choice and she is nice enough to be willing to pay so of course I let her.

My parents pay for my iPhone bill and my sisters' (who are 21, and 23). In addition to their own. So five iPhones a month.

I'm 15. I dare someone to say "you're spoiled."

I just can't believe how many 18+ people have been still leeching off their parents. Along with under age 18 kids who get iPhones. Who needs a phone, especially an iPhone when they are 15, who are you gonna call, your buddy in the same class as you?

I've been paying my own bills since I was 16, along with my iPhone when I got it. Having your parents pay for your stuff will teach you nothing.

I'm 22 and employed at college, I paid for my iPhone and data plan, parents have the family plan so I am just a $10 add on plus what I pay. They also pay for my car insurance and other things as well.

It seems like there is a mindset in here on peoples whose parents can afford to do stuff like this. I know kids that are "well off" and get things handed to them, but when it comes to work, they have an extremely hard work ethic and have already began to be pretty successful...

What's the definition of "successful" when the younger people are making money and not having to pay their own bills?

That's not real life, and I wouldn't call that successful.

18; In college, and pay for my own bill.

Quit leeching off your parents.

22 and I pay mine.

My parents paid my bill while I was in college, but that was only 10 bucks (I was an additional line on their family plan) and I still paid for any texting and data. After I graduated, I was on my own (and I switched to AT&T and got my own plan with an iPhone)
