I forgot how big and heavy the Pro Max was until I started using the 12 Pro this weekend.
The 12 Pro is much lighter, easier to fit in my pockets, and I don’t lose that much screen real estate. Reminds me oh when I got the iPhone 5. It was so thin and light. Very happy here!

I bitched and complained for a year that the iPhone X was too small and when I finally got the XS Max for a year I couldn't stand the size.

Went to the 11 Pro and thought I made a mistake. Got the 11 Pro Max and took it back within a week only to stick with the 11 Pro.

Very happy with the 12 Pro. Even with my big hands (ask my wife), the 12 Pro is just perfect.

i asked my wife and she agrees

This is exactly how I feel. Didn’t lose much screen space and it reminds me so much of the 5. So light and so thin. I can hold it in one hand for extended periods of time with no problem. Of all the phones I’ve ever used, this one is going to challenge my most favorite ever. I very much look forward to the next several years with this thing. :).

Going from 11 Pro Max down to a 12 Pro hasn’t been that big of a shock as I thought it would be. I like the form factor, I like that the fonts are slightly larger and easy to read, and overall performance has been great. I don’t yet see how it’s a big jump from the 12 Pro Max but it’s too early to say and I’m not complaining.

My one concern is battery life. It does look like it drains pretty quick. Going to need at least a week to evaluate that.

So back to what I said about how 6.5 to 6.1 wasn’t that big of a shock... I am still interested in the 12 Pro Max for the supposed better camera so I wonder if I will notice a difference going the other way from 6.5 to 6.7.

I don’t regret it because the 6.7” device is too big and way too heavy. That’s why I have my iPad Pro close by when I need a bigger screen. This combination works great for me.
I have the XS Max and it's too large & heavy for me too - but then it's my work phone and I don't pay for the phone or service so I use it only when I have it (2 handed).

Today I am switching out my personal 11 to 12 Pro at the Apple store and since I am happy with my 11, I should be happy with the 12 Pro (1 handed use).....

I just got my 12. Came from a X. Never thought I would consider a Max but I’m starting to think it might be worth it. I was hoping 5.8 to 6.1 would feel more substantial. Not sure if 6.7 is going to be obnoxious though.

Does anyone have a XR to compare to the 12 Pro? They are both 6.1. Anyone could share a pic of 2 same websites? I have a iPhone 8+ and when I compare it to my XR there is a big difference in my opinion. Like video in landscape mode etc... I wish the 12 Pro had a 16:9 aspect ratio. Not sure why this 19.5:9 is becoming so popular. It is a bit too narrow in my view.

I don’t but I can describe the difference

They are pretty similar in size from a general standpoint

12 is way easier to wrap your mitt around though whereas the 11 IMO is a bit too wide

My wife still has her 11 Pro Max - so I held that for a few minutes today and compared it directly to my 12 Pro --- yeah, it's not comfortable to use with one hand and after a few minutes, you can feel the weight in your hand (uncomfortable).

It's hard to explain but ... holding this phone is ... it just feels amazing. I could do this for hours. I'm planning on reading several books on this thing.

I'm feeling the same way. From X to 11 and now 12 Pro. First time considering the huge Pro Max.

I agree. After holding both. I can comfortably hold my 12 Pro and do things one-handed. I can still do one-hand on the 11 Pro max but it does get uncomfortable after sometime.

11 Pro Max was too heavy for me, and to keep the same weight (and make it taller too) was a no-go, regardless how good the camera is.

12 Pro feels perfect so far after 36-hours & reminds me of earlier X which was probably my favourite of all.

To each their own, no bad options IMO.

I keep waffling. Every time I go smaller I appreciate the one-handed ease of use, but then I miss the larger screen. There have also been some premium features only available with the Max version, like a bigger battery and better camera. Next upgrade I go big and immediately miss the easy one-handed use. This time Ima go big and just suck it up.

Agreed - I don't think my 11PM ever went much below 70% though ...

As I understand it a new phone needs some time to settle down & optimise storage etc, mine is still downloading photos & music.

Battery life is a major factor. 5G consumes a ton of power. I think people will be upset they did not opt for the better battery life.

Edit to add this link:

A battery life test by Arun Maini of the YouTube channel Mrwhosetheboss found that the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max had significant leads in battery runtimes compared to the newer iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a 2,815 mAh battery, which is not only lower in terms of actual capacity than the previous generation but also powers larger and higher resolution displays leading to lower runtimes.

I have the Pro but I'll be getting the Max, the battery life on the 12P isn't great. Its about the same as the XS Max.

Oh ew, that looks so bad, the size discrepancy looked really bad when I compared them in store.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max slays in battery life in this test

It’s such a beast honestly

Would of been nice if he added a xs max in that line up, why waste his time with a SE.

SE is new, xs max is not

Well the 12 Pro was returned today along with the awful MagSafe charger. I was hopeful that the 6.1 12 Pro would be the sweet spot, but it’s not for me.

I’ll use my 11 PM until I can pre order the new beast on November 6th.

Max phones for life haha

I played with 5 pros today and I struggled to see and it was super uncomfortable to type or play games or do anything with. Was like nope max for me only.

I am on Xs. If I were to upgrade, I would do 12 Pro Max. Nowadays, it's about size and people mostly use phone for reading browsing and less talking.
