How long is it taking people to get use to the screen size? Upgraded from my xs max to a 12, eyes are getting a bit sore finding some text a bit small, a lot of people have told me give it a week for your eyes to adapt to the new screen size. 🤔

How about making the text size bigger or Bold under display setting?

Unless eyesight is an issue. You can adapts to any phone. I play around with phones of all sizes Android and iPhones. I’ve had iPhones plus sizes from iPhone 2014-iPhone 2019. Recently went backwards iPhone pro Max 11 to iPhone se 2020 with 4.7 inch screen. It was fine

I got iPhone pro 12 6.1. Size is fine. What I’m more concern is battery life. That’s the real reason to get bigger phone.

Making The text bigger doesn’t work in safari. I’ll give it a week, hopefully my eyes adjust by then, nice of apple to give me 30 days to return the phone.

Still deciding between the 12 Pro and Pro Max.
Love the smaller package of the 12 Pro and one handed use without feeling strained like I do after holding the 11 Pro Max for a while. But the battery is no where as good.

this thread highlights how relative options can be - much is based on hand/thumb size, preference on weight in hand, eyesight ability, the importance of having the biggest/best, whether the person owns an iPad or not, not least the size of the persons pockets (both financially and physically ha).

The 12 Pro 6.1" is a large phone to me, coming from a 4.7" iPhone 8. I've got used to the bigger size and weight already but it's right on the limit and I wouldn't go any bigger personally and would love a couple of millimetres to be shaved off the thickness in future.

the 12 Pro Max is going to have a stellar camera with the 1.7micron pixels but it literally does not fit in any of my pockets. The bigger phones get the better they get for websites, apps, reading and games, but the worse they get to live with day to day for the basic functions like being a mobile phone and music / podcost / radio player!

went from an xs max to the 12 pro. at first it felt okay but i’m starting to really miss the bigger screen. If my xs max was slightly smaller it’ll be
good but 6.1’ might be too small since it’s similar dimensions to the regular 11 pro last year.

I wish they kept the 6.5’ screen & shrunk the bezels & dimensions like they did with the 6.1

might try out the 12 pro max instead

I do and I'm returning. 12 Pro was good in concept and I justified it because I didn't want to wait two more weeks. But huge regret. Once u go big, can't go back. As much as I use my phone I need the extra real estate.

I knew I'd regret being impatient.
I don't regret it at all. Feels better everywhere - hands, pockets, bike. And I just use various text sizing/bold settings to adjust as needed.

So far, I have been very happy going from the 11 Pro Max to the 12 Pro. The smaller size and redesign has been very welcomed. I have noticed a decrease in battery life, however, I have not had any issues (so far) with the battery life that I am getting. I got a smaller device, with a smaller battery, with more powerful hardware. It is kind of to be expected.

I could not stomach the idea of going with an even larger phone than the 11 Pro Max (even slightly). I welcome the smaller, lighter phone. I really do not feel like it is *THAT* much smaller than the 11 Pro Max is. That's just my personal opinion.

Another 11 Pro Max to 12 Pro switcher :). Agreed. Does not feel that much smaller. Yes, battery is slightly worse, but I'm nearing the end of my work day and I'm not far off from my 11 Pro Max usage.

I can already tell that this is going to be my most used and favorite phone.

Loving seeing these pro-11PM to 12P posts.

even without reading them, as soon as I got to playing with my 12P it became clear I made the right choice.

ruled out mini for battery concerns + being too close to my SE2 which I still have

and ruled out Max because thinking it'll get fatiguing after novelty wears off

Agreed. I also went from 11 Pro Max to the 12 Pro and so far it does not feel that much smaller. It's very comfortable to hold one-handedly. So far it is the Best one out of all the iPhone's I've owned. I still plan on pre-ordering the 12 Pro max tho just to check it out.

I thought I was going to be very happy in the downgrade from the 11PM to the 12 Pro. The camera features on the 12 Pro Max don’t really appeal to me all that much as I’m not a huge camera person. However, since having the 12 Pro on Friday, I can definitively say today that it is going back and I’ll get the 12 Pro Max. I set the phone up as new on Friday and used it all weekend. Battery was not great. Today however was the most definitive test. I usually end my work day with 40-50% battery on my 11PM (and battery health is at 88% right now too). However, today on the 12 Pro I came home with 16% battery remaining, with not nearly the amount of usage I typically have on the 11PM. I also forced 5G off while I was at work today too. The WiFi is terrible at my work, so can’t rely on it so have to use cellular. But yeah, today was the definitive decision to return the 12 Pro and wait for the 12 Pro Max.

The size though...it’s perfect in the hand. And if I was in my office more of the day and could rely on charging, I’d probably keep it. But I’m frequently out of my office and don’t want to have to choose between leaving my phone to charge and risking the battery draining.

One thing that did surprise me was how much thicker the phone feels with the square edges compared to the 11PM, which I have always loved since the 4 and 5. My 11 Pro Max was okay to use with it's rounded edges and a Pitaka shell basically...but it was heavy and not great to pull out when at the market, inputting passcode since FaceID is a no-go, checking messages and shopping lists, etc. I felt like i would have dropped it and sometimes had to use two hands. When the 12 Pro Max is out, it is going to be slightly bigger than my 11 Pro Max and the square edges are gonna make it feel even bigger than that?! No thanks.

Yep thats my concern. The 12 Pro Max is slightly thinner but width and length is larger and having square edges and once you get a bulky case on it, its gonna be very bulky to use.

Size was biggest issue but the atrocious battery life has to be a non-starter for many people.

I'm getting fairly close battery life compared to my 11 Pro Max for my usage. (Within 10%).

What is this atrocious battery life you're talking about?

Sorry, don't let me get in the way, carry on.

I remember when I preordered the iPhone 6 instead of the 6 Plus because everyone I knew said that the 6 Plus is "Too Big" I immediately regretted my choice when I saw how great the iPhone 6 Plus looked in person with the higher PPI screen, better battery, and larger screen I decided to return my iPhone 6 and preorder the iPhone 6 Plus and wait the 3-4 weeks but tried to go to the apple store every morning to wait in line but no luck until the 6 plus arrived at my door. That is why I chose to wait till November 6th for the 12 Pro Max. Just not sure if to go for silver, gold, or pacific blue or heck graphite.
