I do and I'm returning. 12 Pro was good in concept and I justified it because I didn't want to wait two more weeks. But huge regret. Once u go big, can't go back. As much as I use my phone I need the extra real estate.

I knew I'd regret being impatient.
I bought an 12 pro max case to compare. It’s definitely a big boy but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

I actually shipped back my 12 Pro yesterday. I’ve had every Max/Plus phone since the iPhone 6 Plus and I just don’t think I’ll get used to the size, so I sent in back instead of eventually regretting it when I don’t have a choice to return it. I ordered from Verizon, so I expect a nightmare trying to get the return process and upgrade correction completed before 12 Pro Max pre-ordering.

Update:

I am one of those people that said I couldn’t get a phone bigger than my 11 Pro Max and I’d get the smaller version if they ever came out with a 6.1 inch top of the line OLED. I’m glad I made this decision. I posted on one of the pages about the difference in screen temp; after waiting a few days I’ve determined that the 11 PM was calibrated too cool. The 12 Pro is much easier to maneuver one-handed.

Battery life was a concern, but on the public beta and my normal usage I feel like I got to 20% when my phone would normally be at about 35%(ish) on the Pro Max.

I really wanted to love the 12 Pro but the battery live is no better than my 2 year old XS Max. I just cant handle that. I'll have to try the Pro Max

What’s with people saying the 12 pro battery life is only as good as a XS max? Do people think the XS max doesn’t have that great of battery life?

I have currently have a launch day XS max and think my battery life is great. I’ve been going back and forth on getting a 12 pro or a 12 pro max. Have been leaning toward the 12PM since I’ve heard complaints about the 12 pro battery but if the 12 pro would give me the same battery life compared to my xs max, I’d be pretty content.

My Xs Max did not have the best battery life for the year+ I used it - for whatever reason. I remember going to the 11 Pro Max and it was a night and day difference. The 11 Pro Max has the best battery life of any iPhone I've ever used. That and ... because the Xs Max is now ... old enough to have on average 10% battery degradation - that's why I believe we're seeing a lot of Xs Max owners see the 12 Pro have similar battery life.

Can those who have or had the 12 Pro explain what they mean by the battery life difference?

Are you dead before the end of the day? If so, is this on 5G or LTE?

Just trying to understand what is meant by the battery life not being good as the XS Max/11 Pro Max.

I work in an office. I have access to strong WiFi at home and work.

For my 11 Pro Max - I ended the day usually between 82-87%. This involves a few hours of calls, some YouTube, some texting, WhatsApp, etc.

My 12 Pro (day 2 test) ended the day with similar usage at 74%.

I usually consider end of day to be around 6-7pm. I usually am on my MBP or iPad for rest of night then go to bed.

Guess maybe it depends on the use. When I got the XS max it was pretty good, not great obviously since the XR was better. But glad to see the 12 pro max beats the XR on battery life. I was pretty satisfied in the few weeks I owned the XR.

Now with battery degradation and being over 2 years old the battery life has been complete garbage! lol Its declined in the last 4 months. I fast charge 2x a day now haha

I can second this.

I'd say about a 15-20% difference overall at the end of the day. I unplugged the 12 Pro yesterday at 7:45 am and used the crap outta my phone all day; finally charged at 6:30PM at 20% battery. If I had to guess, my 11 Pro Max would've been at about 37%.

Well the battery on the 12 pro is like 2600mah (approximate, and not sure about mah of mha). Anyway, its smaller than the 11 pro's battery. What I want to see is the 12 pro max vs 11 pro max. If its the same or slightly less (1 hr less) I'll be ecstatic.

Ok, thanks for the responses. Not dead, but still noticeable.

Definitely noticeable. But I wouldn't trade that for the size, the usability, and probability of this phone. The screen doesn't "seem" that much smaller either. I can hold this phone for hours with one hand comfortably. The weight just feels perfect (obviously this is my personal preference). :p

Also something I didn't realize would be a big difference - the charge time is faster with the smaller phone too (I'm eyeballing a 20 min difference - sites seem to indicate a ~15 min difference between the 11 pro and 11 pro max).

Good stuff BMG! Yeah, I'm liking the size and feel of my husband's 12 Pro. It feels right weirdly enough, but I'm holding out to order the Pro Max. I think it's the change of the overall design that has me liking it so much. It feels right in the hand.

My wife is going for the 12 Pro Max! :).

Agreed. Loving this new design!

It's a definite tradeoff for me after having the larger model phones for years.

Pros: Portability, fits in my pocket, in my cupholder in the car, easier to use one handed and easier to use at the gym.

Cons: I do find my hand cramps up a little while holding it since it's not necessarily a natural grip size for me and the larger screen will be missed from time to time.

Since I am now full time work from home, how I use my phone has changed quite a bit. Overall, I think I will be happy with the smaller frame but it does not come without its tradeoffs.

Oh man, don’t they charge like a $40-50 restocking fee as well ? Most carriers do these days I believe.

I ended the day with 35% on my 11 Pro Max. I end the day with 25% with the 12 Pro. I am always around chargers too. For my lifestyle, I’m never in a situation where I don’t have the ability to charge in the event I‘m pushing 18-20 hours of heavy usage (which I never do).

I felt similar when I bought my first Telsa (range/battery anxiety) and then I used it and realized I am almost never in that situation. It’s similar to the iPhone 12 Pro. I’m tired of carrying a brick in my pocket, but the 5.8” 11 Pro was just a little too small. The 12 Pro is just about perfect for my needs.

Very well said. Exactly how I feel. I'm always around chargers ... and I always have access to my iPad. The way this virus is going, things aren't going to change for awhile, but even when I was going to the office - I had access to chargers all the time.

I just compared my 12 Pro to my wife's 11 Pro Max --- the screen differences are a lot smaller than one thinks. The weight difference is noticeable. Talking on this phone for awhile - holding it up - one really can tell the difference. Much prefer the 12 Pro.

Well I regret downsizing from a XS Max to an 11 Pro last year. That's why I'm getting the 12 Pro Max this year. While I like the smaller form factor and being able to handle it with just one hand, I hate typing on the small keyboard  and I also hate squinting at small videos.

Had every plus model since the 7 Plus. Will get the 12 Pro instead of the Max due to fatigue of the larger size. The 6.1 screen is perfect. Battery life and screen sacrifices are worth it.

Completely disagree. I had the plus back when the 6 series came back, and I would never have a plus or max ever again. I am 6ft, but must not have very big hands because the max is way to big. It looks ridiculous in my hands and doesn’t fit in pockets. I will take the slightly smaller iPhone 12 pro over the max any day. Max is unwieldy as hell.
