There is an option on the order details to change delivery. I personally would be too afraid to change anything at this point. My luck is it would get cancelled.

Thanks. Is there any reason why apple would do that or has it happen before? Can't take a day off at this point and certainly can't be home on Friday before 5pm. And both delivery companies Apple use in UK have their depos a far away from my place.

I actually do have the day off. I'm in grad school and have class in the morning and my daughter has her imagination fair at school that night, so I had already planned on taking the day off. Now, I just hope my watch with the 4/24 - 5/8 actually arrives on Friday!

No I don't think so. Just me being paranoid. I'm sure it would be fine if you changed the delivery address. It's possible that it's not an option from apple since you're in the UK. But I don't see why not since it hasn't prepared for shipment yet.

My in laws are in town starting Wednesday through Saturday, so husband and I weren't working anyway. :)

I've mostly worked remote for years now and been able to be home for launch day preorders. I like that.

Thanks. I have just checked and the option is there to change it. But I may wait till tomorrow before I change it.

Just as I did with the iPhone 6. I went to work. Someone ran by my home and brought it to me. I don't take off just to sweat the delivery of a gadget. But it was awesome to have a friend run by the house and bring it to me

I have to give 48 hours notice if I need a day off. Hopefully by Tuesday night, we'll have tracking numbers and I can request the afternoon off. UPS has been random. Sometimes they deliver as early as 1PM ET sometimes as late as 4PM ET.

I didn't take off work on the 24th, even though it's also my birthday. Some are calling me crazy, but part of me kind of hopes that my watch doesn't arrive before I leave for work, but arrives while I'm working. The anticipation of wondering if my watch is at home waiting for me would be both exciting and excruciating, but it might help me get through the day lol!

Fortunately for me I was already off on the 10th as I had taken some leave for Easter and didn't have any problems preordering in the first few minutes for the earliest delivery window. Unfortunately I didn't get back to work until the 13th by which time it was too late to take the 24th off due to the nature of my job. I'm not really bothered though as if by chance it is delivered on that day I will have the weekend to play around with it and set it up.

I sort of have the day off. I'm traveling for work the day before, and then driving back home on the morning of the 24th. I don't have to do any actual work that day, but I do have to drive for 5 hours to get back home (and to my watch).

I'm taking a company vehicle that needs to be returned along with some supplies, so I'm hoping it works out well to have it delivered to work. if all goes well it will be waiting for me when I get in around noon or so.

I'm a full-time author with no boss. My WIP will be finished by the 24th, and I'll celebrate by playing with my new Apple Watch ... hopefully!

I got mine delivered to the office. Taking a day off work pretty much guarantees the UPS guy won't show up till about 7:59pm. Business delivery comes in much earlier in my zip code.

Plus I am fairly skeptical of a Friday delivery until I see the tracking number and see it actually enter North America.

This is the exact same boat as me. Home delivery 7p sometimes. They are never at the office later than 10:30am. I'll save my time off for a later date. I might even schedule it on my Apple Watch Friday....

I did. We use an automated leave system which means I can cancel it at any time, even on the 24th, with a couple clicks should my watch not arrive as expected on that day.

Before I used to just sign the shipment release form that Apple provides and leave it on my front door. The package would waiting for me to get home. All that changed with my 5s shipment. I got home to a note from the driver that read "I must have your signature on the pad."

I got upset because, in my opinion, if I sign the release form provided by the sender (Apple in this case who is paying for the service), I am releasing both Apple and UPS from any liability should my package get stolen. I was so upset that I did something I had never done before. I figured out the UPS email address format, I looked up the CEO's name and sent him a short polite email. A couple hours later someone from UPS emailed me back and the driver was back at my door shortly after that with my package.

I don't want to have to go through that again, so yes, I took the day off.

I hate it that Apple schedules deliveries on Fridays because if something goes wrong, you have to wait until Monday for another delivery attempt.

Geez. You know for next time, you still have the option of picking up the package that same day, even after you missed the delivery.

I have taken the Friday and the Monday off just in case. Hope that my order (placed 2 mins past 8 GMT) will be one of the first out of the doors.

I've seen some mention of folks that took 4/24 off in other threads. I did too, so I thought it might be fun to have a thread of our own to post to on Friday as to whether it was a good or bad decision. Lol

Going into the launch I scheduled 4/10 off because for one I figured I would be too excited to sleep until launch time, and because I was hopeful that I could schedule a try on appointment that same day, which I did. After my order of course.

Then I scheduled the 24th off so I could suffer in silence while pacing the floor for the delivery truck. Lol Yes, we all know now we have a "shipping window" that I didn't expect going into this launch, but oh well a day off is a day off. Plus I'm sure these forums will be all abuzz that day. That's also what prompted me to go ahead and sign up, I've probably been lurking here for 15 years or more. :D

I took the 24th off, before the pre-orders started and therefore before I was given a "June" delivery. I had originally thought it would be like other launches where I would have it delivered on the day...

Did think about cancelling the day off, but instead I'll be going to see Avengers: Age of Ultron!
