Who took off work on 4/24?

I can promise you'll lose that one. Tim Cook explicitly stated in multiple emails that many people will receive a watch on launch date.
 
Not me. I only get two weeks of vacation a year and I can't afford to burn one on a release of an Apple product.

Apple also stated that the new Mac will be launching on April 10 in multiple countries... and it's not

They said shipping April 10th and mine technically did ship April 10th. You are going to have to read the fine print and listen better.

In past pre-releases, they usually don't give a range for the first batch of shipping, do they? Isn't it usually just the launch day, or am I mis-remembering? The fact even the first batch of buyers are being told 4/24-5/8 makes me think they aren't expecting to hit everyone that day.

I agree - this is the first launch that I can recall where we have been given such a wide delivery window.

I've booked the 24th as leave as we are going away for the weekend. I had two deliveries last week. UKMail delivered about Noon and UPS about 9:30am, so hopefully I will get my watch in the morning IF it is due on the 24th.
 
Glad I took off on the 10th. Pulled an almost-all-nighter to preorder. Don't see how taking the 24th off was going to do anything.
 
I'm home on Friday, but still working. One month left until exams, can't let any day go to waste!

Still, I might put aside a couple of hours to play with my Watch if it arrives :p
 
I sure did. We have kids to take to school and back - someone needs to pick up that delivery!
 
I did thinking I could pick up in store. I'm gonna go anyway and see if I'll get lucky with some stocked bands.
 
I canceled an entire business trip this week bc of the stupid watch! I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!
 
So glad I work from home. I'm out of town on a business trip this week but back Thursday night...hopefully just in time to get my watch on Friday morning! (4/24-5/8 camp, here).
 
I took the 10th and the 24th off and looks like I'll be taking May 13th off as well.

My wife's milanese SS arrives on the 24th and my black SS link arrives on May 13th.
 
I'm not getting my hopes up. But if it does arrive you can bet there will be very little work being done for a couple hours at least.
 
If it gets delivered on Friday, I'll work from home

What are we betting and how will we objectively determine what constitutes "almost everybody"? I'll take the under.
 
don't have work that day but unfortunately there is a Ranger game that day because they farted out in Game 2, was hoping for a series sweep of the Pens :p
