Case less iPhone 6 users

I have seen lots of threads about scratches in the iPhone 6 screen oleophobic coating. I'm about to purchase two 6's as upgrades for my wife and I who both have ageing 4S's.

My question is are there any users without cases or screen protection who do not have scratches on their screen? And what colour phone do you have? As it appears that Space Grey is more susceptible to the visible scratches.

Zero scratches on the screen of my space grey 6 which has been used without a screen protector since launch day. I've treated it exactly the same as my iPhone 5 which also didn't have a single mark on the screen after 2 years of use. It lives in the right front pocket of my jeans with the glass facing my leg. Nothing else ever goes in there with it.

I can't bear to use a screen protector - if the glass on an expensive phone wasn't robust enough to withstand normal use I would buy a cheap Moto G instead and not give a crap about the condition it got in. For the price of an iPhone I have very high expectations of quality and service and I have never been disappointed.

I have been using it caseless since 3 weeks. Only put the spigen case for two days but didn't like its color so returned it. It is slippery but two days ago I applied xtremeguard back protector and now it's not slippery. I am loving it but I will be putting the case coz I want to keep it like this. I went to Vegas and gave my phone to someone to take my picture and he was unable to control it and it fall down. Thankfully nothing happened except a small nick. So case is for sure.

Hi, Guys.

Question: Where do you put your caseless iPhone 6 Plus in your car during transport? Cupholder? Lay it in the seat?

I just keep it in my pocket, i make sure that once i get seated in the car , ill push my phone torwards the center of me instead of my phone hanging off on the side a bit in your pocket while your sitting, straight with your thigh. Works for me. I dont put my phone in cupholder area lol .

I have a plastic holder that mounts in an AC vent. easy access to play audio and use maps.

I should get this in my car, your right. Ordering one real soon now

I used to run careless until two nights ago my phone grew wings and an jet engine and decided to use my palm as a designated runway and tried to take flight. Thanks to my great reflexes and fear of throwing 800$ down the drain i 86'd that flight.

It gets ridiculously slippery when cold. Such as using it outside during a Minnesota winter. Also it gets equally slippery when it's running hot and it makes your hands oily from use as well.

The phone is gorgeous but now I have it in a really nice aluminum case that resembles a iPhone 5 build. Which is equally as nice. The soft polycarbonate backing also makes it more grippy and there is no Apple logo cutout which no longer makes me look like I'm dying to let people know I use an iPhone.

Major OCD on this forum. The iPhone 6 holds up fine. It will exhibit wear like anything else over time. Some people unrealistically expect their iPhone to always look pristine.

I don't have OCD about scratches etc. My 4S has always been naked and does have signs of wear and tear which I can live with just fine. What I don't find acceptable though are some of the scratches people are claiming to have gotten from things like cleaning the screen with a microfibre cloth.

I was curious to see if real users are actually seeing scratches on their naked iPhones or if it's a non issue that's been blown out of proportion as it sometimes can in a forum

I find that I'd love to go case less with my 6 Plus but it's much too slippery. I'm typically über careful with my devices but you know... Got the apple leather on now and ordered dBrand rear skins yesterday to free myself from the case!

The phone is way too slippery and screen too susceptible to scratches I think. I'd still recommend using tempered glass or a skin like I did.

people saying the iPhone 6 and 6+ is way too slippery, are you using hand moisturiser or something?

cause mine aint slippery.

I'm running this skin without a case and no scratches so far.

I don't know how people scratch heir phone. I use a neo hybrid case on my Space Grey 6 Plus with no screen protector and my screen is flawless and I'm not careful with it at all. Same for my iPhone 5, no screen protector and flawless. I've thrown both in my pockets with keys. I swear people keep sand paper in their pockets, sheesh.

I've been caseless 99% of the time since I got mine a few months ago. I have a Pugoo sticky pad thing on my head unit with a cheap clear hard case stuck to it. When I get in the car I pop the phone into that case, turn my music on shuffle and leave the screen on so I can see the artwork. Once I replace my Xperia I'll probably have two devices stuck up there.

My iPhone on the left and my wife's iPhone on the right. I've never used a case and she always does. Her phone has already a scratch in the middle of the screen, small one I mind you. Mine, nothing. I guess it all depends on how far you go to take care of it :)

I love the idea of how you have your phone stuck there. Where did you buy? Is it a case and a sticky pad?

I am rocking a clear thin case, doesn't add hardly any bulk and I feel much safer with the phone, I couldn't use it naked be too risky.

i have changed my grip on how i hold my 6 plus, i basically hold it almost like a beer can lol now, holding it around with my palm on the tapered edges for a snug fit, squeezing the sides of the phone a bit

it's not unrealistic when past iphones did even after 2 years! iphone 4 and 4s held up amazingly

The Pugoo pad used to be on their website but I think it's only on eBay now. The case was just whatever cheap clear case I found on Amazon, so yes it's just a case and a sticky pad. Ghetto but awesome.
