I am, mostly to gift my gold ss to my goddaughter. I am looking forward to always-on display but doubt that I’d upgrade for technical differences between the 4 and 5.

I would love the always on display but I think I‘ll stick with the S4 for another year ... unless the Titanium is overwhelmingly gorgeous IRL.

Take a look at the Space black Titanium, it looks outstanding. (But I’m staying partial to the stainless model personally.)

Close up photos it clearly looks nice with the brushed texture but honestly more that a couple feet away there is no way to tell space gray aluminum for space black titanium which seems a bit disturbing... $429 vs $849. All that said I’ll probably wait for S6 and get a SB titanium for a change of pace from my SBSS I always get. I’d have done it this year if I wasn’t so disgusted Apple is offering $110 for my 12 month old $750 Apple Watch.

Yeah, a few other members are upset with the trade-in value for their Series 4 watches, where they’re just keeping it for another year. Obviously to Max the value would be sell in person, but I guess it depends how bad someone wants to upgrade to the Series 5.

I’m keeping my SS S4 and getting a SSSB. The always on feature for when I’m working out is huge. I hate always having to tap or raise my arm to track timing. Plus I’ll have a couple of color option now.

Trading in the S4 and getting the S5. Always "on" and the compass are the reasons. I don't like a watch that looks off and the compass should improve walking directions.

Nope, not enough features to go from my SS S4 unit... not to mention the trade in from apple this year is crap.

Thank you finally someone who sees it. $110 trade in for a Space Black SS model that cost $800 my group thread I’m in told me to stop being a whiner but I’m like um don’t even offer anything for trade if it’s going to be a slap in the face.

Paying $800+ a year for a watch isn’t practical. Believe me I want that space black titanium watch

I’m trying to decide if I should upgrade from my aging series 2 or hold out for next year...argh
I’d go for it. This is a big upgrade from a Series 2. Bigger screen, always-on display, much faster processor, compass.

$110? I checked twice and it said $120 both times. Either way, it's SUPER offensive of Apple. Last year the trade for AW3 was $250. Bad, but not as bad as $120. Absolutely ridiculous.

So short answer? Maybe. My AW4 is giving me issues recording exercise minutes...again (probably software related).
The S4 starts at $275 on Swappa. Remember Apple doesn’t run the trade-in program. It’s done by a 3rd party looking to maximize its own profits.

I am. I literally just was thinking while I was working out earlier how convenient it would be if the display was on so I could check my heart rate and time progress without flipping my wrist. No brainer for me.
I got the aluminum series 4 so I could update more often without regret. I ordered gold aluminum series 5 40mm with gold stainless steel Milanese Loop band. Glad price went down on that band. Just $49 extra with the watch. I’ve wanted Always On since my series 0. So excited to get that feature at last!

Yep $110 (USA) for my 44mm SBSS S4. I saw someone else post the same amount for their 44mm GSS S4. Then to add INSULT to injury it seems Apple is only offering $10 less for an aluminum S4! I really need to take a “chance” on aluminum for my S6 next year as I actually think the space gray aluminum looks great and I wouldn’t be bothered at all vs. my space black stainless BUT I am worried the Ion-X Glass will be all scratched up and bother me vs. my perfect sapphire on my S0, S3 and S4. It would make it so much easier to justify upgrading each year though...
I’ve had aluminum models series 0, series 1 and series 4. Never had a scratch on any of the glass. Just ordered gold aluminum series 5. So tempted by gold stainless steel but I want to upgrade when I feel like it and not spend so much on each series Model.

Good luck with that. The market is flooded with these already. When the potential buyers find out Apple is offering only $110, they try to low ball you.

My SS AW3 MIGHT be sold today at $200. Neither eBay nor Craigslist offered any more than $250.
Maybe I should be thankful that we only have 3 Apple Stores in Sweden, and almost everyone instead buys from certified Apple resellers. I don't think anyone over here is even aware that you can sell it directly to Apple.

I will be. But not because it is a big upgrade from my AW4

I have had the SS0, SS2, SSSB3 and last year fed up with resale value bought an Aluminium SG AW4, knowing that I would upgrade this year.

I have missed the Stainless so much. Whilst I loved the Space Black Stainless, i really missed the Silver Stainless. It went so well with my Milanese strap. It also helps that I have just had a big birthday and have over £800 in apple vouchers lol.

The biggest issue I have is do I go Silver Stainless again, or Gold. I love the look of the Gold with the Milanese gold strap, but will I then yearn for the Silver again!

Anyone on here have a Gold Stainless? How durable is it - What I liked about the Silver is I could just polish out any scratches.

I agree, it looks really cool … but I have way too many leather straps with silver connectors to consider anything but a silver Watch body. The allure of the Titanium (to me) is that it is a completely new material for the Watch and also lighter than steel. On the other hand I don't know if it would be "shiny" enough to differentiate from the very dull aluminium Watches. Long story short, I need to see all the new Watches IRL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why would you wait? Amazing upgrade! Jumped from S2 to S4 last year and it was simply night and day

Thanks, your comment among others here have helped solidify my decision. I was on the fence about upgrading from my S2, but I'm going to do it mainly for the performance and I do want the always on screen.

I have had SS before and went Aluminum with my AW4. So far no scratches but I am super careful. Instead of going with the 5 I will likely be finding a SS AW4 instead for a deal.

100% staying put with my s4 40mm sport space grey

Always on sounds cool sorta, but like disruptive to how I'm used to apple watch, and more importantly don't wanna shell out this year.

Im not a feverish Apple Watch upgrader

S0 on sale, S1 through craigslist for cheap, and S4 splurged is my history

I usually upgrade every year. I pass mine down to my mother, so she'll get the Series 4 and I'll sell the Series 3 I gave her the year before.

I have a SS4 and went with aluminum this time. I have been a faithful watch wearer everyday since the 0, and I like upgrading every year. Going to just go with the aluminum to save a bit. Aesthetics aside, they both work the same.

There is no need to pay for sales tax when ordering from Swappa, right?
