I'm returning my X tomorrow. I'm just too engrained in the Plus sized phones. I use my 7+ as an iPad replacement quite a bit. I've noticed I'm reaching for my iPad a lot more now since I switched to the X.
I’ve had many iPhones since 2009. The X is the first that I felt was a step back or compromise for me. Too bad too, i was excited for it.
While I sympathize with your plight, is your reiteration every other post necessary? This thread is for people returning the X, not people who have no returning abilities in their countryIt is not necessary to buy every new phone that Apple releases. I feel some are buying the iphone X just because of the hype.
Lucky that you guys can return your phones within 14 days. Just imagine if you didn't have the liberty.
So I bought the X space grey 256GB model and returned it a few days later. It really is a fantastic piece of hardware. I thought Face ID implementation is excellent and almost seamless. I can totally see how this will replace Touch ID moving forward. The X's screen was fantastic but despite the fact that it is bigger on the diagonal than an 7/8 Plus model it still is smaller in total surface area and it is noticeable. It also seems that this will be the smaller screen size moving forward i.e next year there will be a larger screen model in the X lineup. I loved the phone, but this is first time I felt the price they are asking for the phone is not justified. Sure if you live in the US and have access to the upgrade program or the purchase program and you can space out the payments at 0% then it doesn't feel like much of a price difference. However, here in Canada we have to pay full price up front or sign a carrier contract with inflated monthly cellular costs in order to spread out the cost of the phone. So while I think the X is a fantastic phone, I have decided to skip this year and hope that the price of the tech will come down next year. Enjoy your X everyone. Fantastic device!
i hate itSo I really really wanted to like it because of the claim that it fits a Plus screen in a vanilla size. I guess technically that's correct, but...

The nail in the coffin however is this:
“At any level of brightness, modulation with a frequency of approximately 60 or 240 Hz is present.”

Also, Face ID sucks.
How bout you guys‽‽‽
You paid for it, knowing the price up front, then returned it because it was too expensive??
Thanks for showing the comparison op. The width on the X is terrible compared to the Plus. The Pus actually fits the final paragraph in its entirety whereas the X doesn't. And let's not talk about the notch.
I tried to explain on here that the X is actually less of a screen size than the Plus in real term use, but people got sucked in by the spec size.
Now people might actually get it.
The cost was only one aspect. The screen size was another. And after having tried it out for a weekend I couldn't justify the cost in my mind. The 256GB model costs C$1730 including taxes in Canada. I'm a big Apple fan and always give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to my willingness to spend it on their products. But this time I found it difficult. It happens.
I get it. Got my X a week ago. I'm still reeling from spending almost $1500 (including AppleCare). I love the form factor of the X, but hate the screen. Mine is going back tomorrow for exchange or return. I will go to the 8 plus if I can't get a decent screen.
That's what I'm doing. Going for the 8 Plus until there is a iPhone X Plus model at an acceptable cost (hopefully).
If I bought one I’d return it for safety reasons (which is why I bought the iPhone 8).
Don’t want to attract too much attention especially on sketchy sidewalks at night.
Funny. My X looks like any other phone in its case. If someone is looking to mug you, they aren’t going to stop just because you have an 8 instead of an X, indeed they probably aren’t even going to bother looking at what you have/had until after they have robbed you and went to another location.
What if they see the iPhone X THEN decide to mug you...
Someone who is looking to make some quick cash is not going to care if your phone was $700 or $1000. Whether it is a 8 or an X, they will likely sell for the same price (or trade for some drugs) a block or two down the way; they aren’t taking time to list on eBay where it will soon be useless anyway as it will be a brick no one can use once you report it to Apple. I have had a vehicle broken into for nothing more than a small flat of bottled water.
How would you know? Someone could see the iPhone X then decide to snatch it.
