Why do you NEED the iPhone 4S the day is Comes OUT?!

I don't need mine the day it comes out, which is why I haven't ordered it yet.

I don't need mine, I deserve it! I had a 3GS, and I passed on the iPhone 4, figuring I'd just wait for the next one, since I had only had my 3GS for about 6 months at the time. My 3GS died on me about two months ago, and I've been using my dad's old 3G, which is slower than molasses. It physically hurts me to use it, but I didn't want to invest in a 4, when I knew something else was coming soon. So, please, just gimme my 4s!! I deserve it!!!!
I would understand if this was the iPhone 5, but a 4S?! Come on people. You dont need to have a spec bump on day one. The only reason you should want it on Day One is to show it off to everyone you know proclaiming, "I got the Newest iPhone on DAY ONE!!!"
But hey, guess what? The 4S looks identical to the 4. I feel bad for those getting a 4S on Friday, becuase next summer they will be deep into a contract when the ALL-NEW iPhone 5 is released. Sucks for you guys. Welcome to the iPhone "S" release cycle. It sucks and you will dread being on the bandwagon in about a year!
not everyone is upgrading from the iPhone 4 to the 4s... some people have older phones like the 3GS.. even 3G... or other old garbage Android phones.
Because when I first saw the iPhone3g, I wanted one but couldn't get it. I then bought an ipod touch, then a macbook, then an iPad 2 and an Android phone thinking I would be content.
But I'm not!! I want to be an owner of an iPhone. I should have bought one years ago.

I sold my iPhone 4 to fund my iPhone 4S (like most people I assume?). So no, I do not currently have an iPhone and I want the motherf*cker back ASAP!!

no, you are not very smart.
If you were you'd understand the resale value of iPhones and how that can save you money in many cases, and even pay for your next iPhone upgrade.

Um...because I find it odd people go crazy for just a spec bump, and people freak out that their iphone won't be delivered right away..it's ridiculous!
I want my iPhone on Friday because my iPhone 4's microphone went out and I am having to forward all of my voice calls to my work phone in the mean time.
Would you say the same thing to someone upgrading from a 2009 MacBook pro to a 2011 MacBook pro? You do realize that even though the outside looks the same it is completely upgraded on the inside, right? Not to mention the white option only became available a few short months ago so for a lot of us the look will be new! clearly you are only interested in impressing your friends and not the power of the tool in your pocket
Furthermore, being in the "s" cycle really doesnt suck. All the problems that surface with the original generation model are fixed by the time the "s" line comes out.
And to the OP, as you can see, alot of us sold our previous phones when the 4S was announced. I have to send mine to ebay by tomorrow. So having it on release day is essential for some of us.

Plus, in the US anyway, if you are eligible for an upgrade you are throwing away money. The sooner I get my phone I am already paying for the better.
I suspect you would complain regardless of the nature of the upgrade. The real question is why do you care at all?
