7JB here. Went from 6+ to 7. While i liked the big screen, i would always complain about how i wished i could use it better one-handed. Had the 7 since launch. So far, I'm happy. My wife stuck with the 7+ as she loves the bigger phone.
Similar story for me. I had the 6 and jumped to the 6s Plus, primarily for the OIS camera feature and better battery. The downside is that it's just a tad big for easy one-handed use. In iMessage, hitting the shift key with the 6s Plus in my right hand is too far to do comfortably. I have to shift the phone slightly in my hand. My next iPhone will probably be the 8 next year and I'll be dropping back to the regular model vs. the Plus.

I believe this is the first time the Plus model is outselling the regular one.

Getting the matte black 7 128g when its available sim-free and unlocked from Apple. I got a $500 Apple Store Gift card that is burning a whole in my pocket. No +size for me, too big.

-jet black
-bigger/better screen
-better battery life
-dual camera

But mainly the camera. It's very important to me. I hated the idea of the Plus, but now I'm going all in, naked too

Jet Black 7 Plus here, have had the 6 plus and 6s plus, once you get used to the plus it is hard to go back to the smaller form factor. I never use reachability and can manage to use one handed when needed, but do use two handed most of the time.

The ability to very easily use one handed was a concern at first, but truthfully the chances are if you can't use two hand and must use it with one hand then you are probably using the phone when you shouldn't be. (like when driving)

no thank you, as long as the Plus model with those huge bezels is looking like I am carrying a surfboard, I'll keep my new JetBlack iPhone 7.

By the way, out of all my iPhones owned, 3GS/4/4S/5/5S/6/6S this jetblack one is the most grippiest iPhone. The grip of this iPhone is phenomanal. Using it naked ofcourse (with AppleCare+)

would never wanna carry around the goofy ass plus size.
^
but it's also pretty goofy when you're trying to enjoy a show or something on a smaller screen. don't get me wrong though, I personally wanted the 7 this time around after having the 6s Plus, but I had to have the dual-camera system. and since I still do use my SE (second service) along with my 7 Plus, I wanted both ends of the spectrum. they each have their pros.

Regular 7.
7+ way too big.

How is it to have a 7+ in your jeans pockets? isnt that super annoying?
^
idk about women's jeans, but for men's jeans, my back pockets are usually big enough. but also, I'm pretty tall. I also have non-pant garments that have pockets. and then I also have various bags that I use (camera/backpack/messenger/laptops bags). for all other times, it's pretty much in my hand.

Have the 6S plus now but am going to the regular 7. Just would rather have some of the ease of use back. I'll probably be back to the plus next year as long as they shrink the overall size of the phone.

I want to go ceaseless too, just ordered a screen protector.

You use a screen protector or just trusting you won't drop it?

Thanks to those who got the plus. I walked into Best Buy and walked out in an hour with a new mate black 7. The plus is huge and heavy. It will smash my balls when I run on the treadmill.
Battery is great and I came from the note 7.

The only real benefit is the bigger battery. They're saving the redesign with smaller bezels for next year since it will be an automatic buy.

Regular 7 here and I upgraded from a regular 6. No regrets and love it. 7+ is too big for me.

Glass screen protector is all. Maybe. A bumper, idk. Really wanting to go caseless for awhile and see how it goes. I used to never drop my phones, but when I started using cases, I became careless. I've never dropped my naked toddler....ya know?

Went from a 6 to 6s Plus to the 7. I had no issues with the 6s plus fitting into my pocket but the 7 is much lighter and smaller making one handed use so much easier. I've already adjusted to the smaller screen so it doesn't bother me at all and the battery life is about the same as my 6s plus. Also went from 16GB to 256GB of storage so there's that as well.

The 7 is a great device and I would definitely recommend it.

seems like I'm the only one on the forum that orderd the 7. Idk how he plus got so popular this year.

Isn't it a hassle to use with one hand? I mean it's bigger the note...
I think away from tech forums the regular size will be significantly more popular due to the smaller size. This was the case with the last 2 iPhones and I can't imagine the trend has changed.

I have the regular (albeit 6) and my wife has a 6S+, well there is no contest, I would buy the plus in a heartbeat now or in the future.

Phones have reached a stage where they are generally already too big to be comfortably put in pockets like we did with old Nokias, so at that point it makes sense to get the best screen and battery you can get.

I think I read somewhere that the ratio of 7's to 7+'s is slightly biased toward the Plus. From my non scientific observation, women and especially younger women prefer the Plus for social media. Put me down as a definite NO for the Plus.

Having said that, I decided to switch to the Dark Side and bought a Galaxy Note 7. Same screen size as the plus, but overall, about half way between the 7 and the 7+ in size due to the screen being wall to wall. I had my Note 7 for 2 days when the "fires" started. Jumped in my car and returned to my Att store for a complete refund and ordered a 7 which I received on Sept 16th. IF the next iphone, whether a 7S or 8 has the same side to side screen, I'll join the Plus bandwagon, but that's the only way I'll do it.

Girls like it, but I'm with you 'bro...

Actually reports suggest the plus is outselling the regular size for the first time.

I went from the Galaxy S7 to the iPhone 7. The S7 is just a little bit bigger and i thought i got used to it. But since the Plus is way too big (might have changed my mind with smaller bezels) i went with the smaller iPhone.
The smaller Display at first was noticeable in a bad way, but i was very surprised to realize: it is the perfect fit for my hands. It's only a small difference to the S7, but it makes all the difference in the world.

Got used to the display by now and very happy with my choice. Very comfortable to hold.

Truth be told this feels like an S year all over again. And since I had the regular 6S and I upgrade each year the only option really is the Plus. I really don't see the purpose of going from a 4.7" 6S to 4.7" 7 based on the changes.
It would have been different if Apple used the same 1920x1080p resolution, 3GB of ram and dual camera system of the Plus in the 4.7" model. That would have made me stick to that size. It makes me wonder how Samsung can make the S7 and Note lineup the same spec wise (with the exception of size and s-pen) but Apple can't.

This was me last year with the S6 to the 6S. It will be interesting to see what you do next year.
