MacRumors forums are, unfortunately, filled with Apple Haters and downers. Apple could cure the top 5 diseases in the world and they'd still talk about how boring, late and overpriced the cure was to the world...

In reality, whose right, the multi-billion dollar company or the sad guy in his bedroom declined by society, taking it out on a successful company with a cult like following? .. I know who my money is on.

It sounds to me like you’re labelling everybody who has criticisms of Apple with intentional insults in your post. I use Apples products and enjoy the overall experience, but I will criticise price hikes and sometimes the lack of feature introduction where I feel it is warranted. I’m not some sad guy who has been declined by society and live in my bedroom.

This is a discussion forum where consumers like ourselves come to discuss our experiences both positive and negative. Some of us have been Apple customers for years and not everything is fluffy and lovely all of the time. It’s sad you’ve been here such a short time and already have this opinion of other members to be honest.

iPhone 11 "Pro" Disappointments:
  • Same design with same sized notch
  • Refresh rate has not improved
  • No USB C on the iPhone end
  • No 5G (even from Intel)
  • No Qualcomm modem (LTE)
  • No reverse charging
  • No improved repairability
  • Added a camera tumor
  • Added even more weight
  • "Pro" pricing is still obnoxious

You could edit your post and say still pathetic 64gb storage on pro model. :)

And if Apple increased the base storage you would be posting complaining about the higher price. Sorry but nothing is free. Increased price of materials means the retail price will go up.

Some people actually don't need more than 64GB so for them it's good Apple isn't forcing them to pay for an unnecessary upgrade.

It’s a ****ing Pro iPhone for ****s sake. Get with the program and quit making excuses for Apple.

Getting a bit emotional over a phone? Perhaps "It's just a phone" would be the more appropriate statement here

Emotional over your comment would be accurate. Look come on it’s a Pro phone that uses tons of space to store photos and videos and is billed as having awesome battery life. So people would want to shoot a lot and that means having decent amounts of storage so the shoot isn’t ruined especially if the shoot takes places away from an internet signal so stuff can be uploaded to iCloud.

It’s a joke. Maybe I should have said it like that first time. For that I am at fault.

This is why Apple gives people the option to upgrade storage. Some people will need more storage so I would agree if Apple didn't have it available that would be terrible. I personally have 256GB but mostly because I'm too lazy to delete old games. My comment was people who don't need more storage shouldn't have to pay for it. I know people who never go over 32 GB on their iPhone X so getting 128 or 256 would be a waste of money for them.

There is always a heap of hate and vitriol here. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if outside people who are obsessive over details that fail to make the iPhone perfect for them in every way, or who are legitimately disappointed with some detail which falls materially short for them, and the trolls who have nothing better to do than post in a forum for products they aren't actually interested in, there are actual accounts spreading paid-for FUD for competitive interests.

iPhone X is billed as a Pro iPhone

Apple brought it upon themselves. Come on stop sticking up for them it only encourages them. They know they are being petty.

I don't think Google is paying people to troll the Apple rumors forums. If anything it's bored people.

Again what does this have to do with forcing people to pay for an upgrade they don't need? I'm not getting your point if you have one

No reason to think Google is and I don't think they've ever been caught doing this sort of thing. But Samsung, for example, has been caught doing this before. It is actually extremely common on the internet for brands to pay people to promote their products or, in other cases, to disparage others.

The forced upgrade is to the 256gb model. Isn’t that obvious?

I don’t get your thinking at all. You surely know apples game here. It’s a joke. It’s a frikin pro iPhone

I’m a real person who uses apple products. I can prove it via PM if you really need to be reassured. Not that anything from my argument is biased in anyway. It’s just a advertised as Pro iPhone with 64gb of storage is a joke when apple knows how much storage media takes in these devices using the Pro settings.

I'd first point out that I gave a number of different scenarios. I certainly did not characterize all who complain as such. Please read twice.

64 GBs serves an extremely large percentage of the Apple iPhone user demographic extremely well as a large percentage don't use so much storage and many who would are adequately served with iCloud services. A much more functional scenario than the earlier 16 GB limit which was causing serious upgrade problems in unison with the size of iOS and a batch of photos and the like. For the remainder who know they have storage concerns they can upgrade to 256 GBs.

Sure, some would like to save some money with a 128 GB model, but decisions like this also play a role in setting the base model's price.

It’s amazing how apple users will justify apple ripping them off

I don't doubt you're a real person. I think the problem is you feel that YOU need something (more storage) so everyone else should be forced to get it too. Not everyone who it will need this. I guess one could take an elitist attitude and say they should just get the regular iPhone but that's not how it works. Apple is giving people a CHOICE to buy lower storage and I don't see how more choices are bad.

Lol, I thought it was part of your job desctiption as forum moderator to actively peruse the forums (incl. the iPhone section)? :D
They do this but people are allowed to express and dislike things. The forums would be boring and pointless without discussion even if some is silly. The mods just keep out threats, cussing (maybe), and spammers

64 gigs base is a joke, there's no way around it.

128 should be the base, at the current price of 64.

And it’s amazing how some people don’t just recognize that others are ok with the way the Apple has it configured, and that just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for others... You don’t like it, say so once or twice and move on, it’s an Apple forum for goodness sake, of course most of us are going to say it works for us, what do you expect? No need to keep saying you can believe people defending Apple, yes we know it’s partly a marketing ploy, and yes we are fine with it because it gives people options without raising the base price.

Sure it’s a “Pro” phone, but last time I checked most users don’t need that much storage, heck even I use my iPhone X for professional purposes, lots of photos, and a crap ton of music, I just passed the 64GB threshold (I have a 256). I do the occasional photo cull and backup to a PC, and if I took off my downloaded Apple Music (I download it to save data while on the road), I only am using 28GB. So realistically for most people, you can easily get away with 64GB.

And arguing just because it’s a “Pro” phone is almost funny, because I could say the same thing about the name being a marketing ploy as much as your point of the storage entry point being a marketing ploy.

I Agree. It seemed to really drag on too.

This was the first Apple keynote I decided to watch since the huge letdown of the terrible “hello again” event. While I thought the camera related stuff was interesting, the camera nor anything else excited me like past events.

This keynote bored me and I kept watching, waiting for something exciting, and hoping Apple had something up their sleeve that was going to blow us all away.

Of course, that didn’t happen.

It just end up being little more than a spec-bump and name-change.

I wonder if Apple really needs to do events anymore for iPhones unless it has some major changes, such as form factor.
How is form factor a major change? Seems cosmetic to me and nowadays what much more can be done with external design? Ok, I'll grant maybe shrinking or getting rid of bezels so you can have more screen in a smaller device but people seem fixated on the look and shape of the phone, just MHO.

This happens with Apple, Samsung, and Google phones every announcement in forums. Then once the pre-orders get delivered, the atmosphere changes to how great of an improvement the phone is.
