Maybe it's just me but I really don't care how my phone gets mail, I just want it to do it.....and it does.....and I'm pretty confident I represent the *vast* majority of people.
Ya I mean who cares about battery life anyway?

My bad.....add some lipstick on that thing
Never said I didn't care about battery life. However, I don't find it inconvenient to throw the phone on a car charger when my battery is low and I'm out and about. I have a 1st Gen iPhone that I bought on day one. I use it every single day and there has *never* been a single time when I couldn't use it because the battery was dead.Ya I mean who cares about battery life anyway?

Dont even try to say that iPhone has real push, it doesnt. Its a huge battery hog the way they have it. It constantly pings the server looking for new email. Thats NOT push, thats a constant request. True push is patented by RIM, and your phone doesnt have to keep asking for mail.
That's totally false. There's Mobile Me and MS Exchange for the iPhone. I have both a BB and iPhone and both services. Push e-mail works fine on both devices.
IMHO, Yahoo mail is no good to begin with. I don't know what Apple was thinking when they partnered with them for push e-mail.
Nope....it's not just you. It's *us* and we are the majority.I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought this.Seriously, my iPhone is a personal device. When I want to check my e-mail, I open the app, it checks, I see if I have mail. I see absolutely no reason to be notified the instant a message hits my inbox. I guess if I used it for business, I might care, but then again, I have a BB for that, and frankly, it doesn't hold a candle to the iPhone in ANY area, and I can't even imagine actually paying for it.

For whatever reason, I'm not so sure I want to take your word on that one but if what you say is true...yeah, it *does* suck.you lose your voicemails.
sucks for you.
Those complaining about the battery life must remember that it's among the best for a 3G GSM smart phone. You can't blame the iPhone for any battery issues, especially if you're playing with it all day.
I'm not downplaying the argument that the iPhone should have push email, I guess I just don't understand the need for it.
I own a disaster restoration firm and sometimes it *is* important that I get emails quickly. If that's the case, I simply use the manual refresh or fetch or whatever you call it. No big deal because the vast majority of the time, it's not important that I get them right away.I'm really confused about all the people complaining about the lack of push email. I realize that I may not be as busy as many business men, but I don't understand the need to read an email the second it arrives. Are there really emails in your life that are that important? I really can't imagine what would be so important...if you get the email 15 minutes after it was sent would you get fired? If getting your email is that important, what happens when you get an email while you are in the shower?

Actually, most of the important stuff is done with a regular phone call. I would *never* simply send someone an email if it was *that* important.f you're a stockbroker and you're sent a message to sell now, but you don't get it for 15 minutes, that could be a fortune lost.
If you're someone who maintains equipment, and a massive server farm goes down, 15 minutes is a lot of unhappy people and even lost money in an enterprise environment.
Exactly! We do a lot of text messaging within my company.test messages are fast too...
"iphone killer'' my foot. How can a phone get hit with so many bad reviews?![]()
Bad reviews? Most reviews have been positive, just not the end-all be all phone.
Just an FYI, the VerizonWireless.com site is being pounded right now. Early #s show a HUGE number of orders the 1st day that it's on sale. Granted, it is the 1st day, but anyone claiming that the Storm won't do well needs to get their head checked.
