Oh don't get pissy because my original comment is true. I've never seen a toddler throw a beer bottle at opposing fans here in Chicago.

Nope those idiots just catch foul balls from their own home team thus another year another no playoff baseball and their atheletes who make millions still deal drugs like hood rats :)

I was wondering if I'd ever see a thread about Philly on here. I live but a few minutes from the Int'l airport. I'm getting Verizon too because of the lack of LTE. I do like that AT&T has HSPA+, but it's definitely nowhere near the epic that is LTE.

Also, I lived in the city for 3 years and hated it for the most part. It's a terrible place to be. I don't like southeast PA in general. I'm from NY lol.

I got pretty decent speeds on AT&T HSPA+ this morning (in Havertown) of around 10 Mbps down, not sure what the upload speed was.

I get about 2mbps down 1 up in Philly on my iPhone 4S and my New iPad.

Thinking about returning my iPad and getting a Verizon version.

Though I'm worried that the Verizon version would be slow when off LTE , I'm mostly in lansdale PA and Newark DE. Rarely in center city philly.

Nice to see all these people close to home. Makes people feel real lol. Anyway, I hear that Verizon's 3G network is slower than AT&T's but I don't know by how much.

Those are indeed pretty nice speeds. Nice neighborhood you're up in too btw. Know of Glenolden or at least the Interboro area? That's where I reside.

I'm in the same boat as you are with my new iPad. I am thisclose to going to Verizon and I have hated them in the past. If there are people who are getting up to 10MB speed with HSPA+ and I am actually getting slower speed with my new iPad than I did with my iPad2, I am not happy at all.

Or should I just make a Genius appointment to see if there is a problem with my device?

I'm from Ridley Park. Great Thanksgiving Day football rival of Interboro!! Nice to see someone close to home!!

Holy crap you're even closer! Yeah I went to Interboro and am finishing things up at DCCC. Great rivalry we have indeed. How old are ya?

OH, I'm afraid I'm probably WAY older than you. I'm 40, but nice to see the Ridley-Interboro rivalry still exists.

Should us Philly guys just return the AT&T iPad and go Verizon?

Doesn't seem like AT&T has Philly in its future plans.

I'm worried that that where I am I will only get EVDO vs HSPA+.

Remember, AT&T literally just rolled out their LTE network. Verizon's been going for a while now. They'll get to you but if you want a more solid LTE network go Verizon this time around.

I agree with the Thread Starter. Why didn't AT&T put LTE in the 5th most populated city in the USA, but in other lesser cities? By the way: I live in Philadelphia.

Gruber (who lives in Philadelphia) commented in the last Talk Show that he had "heard rumors" (and he's probably fairly well connected) that AT&T's LTE will be expanding there this summer, and it wasn't near the top of the list because the existing 3G/HSPA+ network was already pretty solid.

Lol yeah you're twice my age. Doesn't make it any less great to see someone so close.

Also, I'm pissed to see that I rarely get more than two bars with Verizon. The towers are in Center City Philly which sucks ass.

That's because toddlers in Chicago go straight to whiskey. I might too if I had to live in the midwest.

Who want to live in Philly anyway??? Its kind of nice that Muncie, IN is getting LTE because I live near there. Stop complaining, as others have already pointed out its not based on population. You'll get it, but in the mean time enjoy HSPA+.

People who live in Philly can drive about an hour and be swimming in the ocean. People who live anywhere in Indiana can drive about an hour and still be swimming in cow poop.

That's one of the biggest stereotypes Indiana has and its NOT TRUE. It's actually a very beautiful state and maybe before making stupid comments like that, you should visit. :D

Drove through once on I-70. Indianapolis looked surprisingly modern, from a distance. Didn't get off of 70 to see much else though, so my data is insufficient. However, pointing out that Indiana is hopelessly landlocked is neither stupid nor stereotyping. Its just geography.

I should point out that this thread was supposed to be about LTE, and it wasn't until some d-bag stereotyped Philly that it went terretorial. I've got no beef with Indiana, and I suspect the OP doesn't either. He probably chose Muncie somewhat randomly from the list of LTE cities just to make his point.

He didn't make any point. What he needs to know is that the LTE rollout isn't by population, but by the factors someone else already mentioned.
