I don't hate the iPhone. Just think the UI is getting boring and the screen is too small for me.

Other than that, it's a great phone.

I don't think iPhone is the best phone in the market. That all comes down to preference. I prefer Android because it's much more customizable than Windows phone and iOS. Although, the UI of Windows Phone is extremely nice. Better than Android's and iOS with iOS being last since it's been pretty much the same since the release.

So, I might get a Windows Phone when I get a job since it looks extremely nice.

Well... If I made a dumb question.. Too bad. It's not the first dumb question someone asked here.

You know what's funny... you usually don't see an Apple user doing that to a Windows or Android user... is usually all the way around. It's like they have the need to let us know they hate Apple products. I mean, who cares what you buy.. it's your money and you do with it what you please.

That's why I laugh when my friends came to me with their iPhone hater comments.. it's so dumb!!!

I never realized this until I read this. I don't go to a PC user on a Windows computer and tell them this or that blah blah blah about it. It never even crossed my mind to do this, I just don't care. I do joke with close friends, and they joke back. It's all in fun and that's it.

You may not realize this, but you passively just did the very thing you are speaking so strongly against. You just elevated the iOS user above the Android or "that other OS" user. In reality, snobbishness happens with both groups. I would say, in my personal experience, the Mac users were more snobby than the Windows ones. This has everything to do with the people I spend time with (windows users). They just don't give a F!

The Mac v PC ads don't help the matter either. This ''I'm a PC" nonesense is literally getting people to associate themselves with an operating system. The OS doesn't define you, or at least it shouldn't.

I already did that for more than a month. I came back to iPhone. Didn't like it.. not saying it's a bad phone but I just didn't like it. I don't hate Android because I didn't like it...

Android is not a phone, it's an OS. Experiences differ among android phones. For example, the experience on a Razr and a Rezound are totally different. So addressing your previous statement, you tried out a particular phone and found you liked the iphone better.

Yes, I know we are talking about the OS... I don't have the money to go and test All the phones with Android in them. The phone I had with Android was an HTC Inspire 4G. My friends have other phones with Android like Samsung Galaxy S II, Nexus... I played with all of those and still didn't liked the OS... yes, I said the OS!... I repeat... didn't liked the OS. :D

And yes, I came back to the iPhone and I like it better.

Played with and used are two totally different things. I wouldn't use the Inspire either, it's a lower mid range phone, and quite frankly it sucks. But since you played with, could you specifically tell me what it was that you found in playing with a phone that you didn't like about the OS. I personally don't like windows phone because of the tiles, but as an OS I can speak from a position of authority because I have only played with them, and haven't used them so I'm not privy to the nuances of the platform.

Hello,

Almost all my friends use Android phones and they are always giving me their iphone hater attitude. Why would anybody hate the iPhone... I mean, this is a great product. It has an amazing camera, the OS runs silky smooth, there are hundreds of free apps, the warranty is great, the customer service at Apple is very good... damn!... what else do they want to not hate this thing?...

I just want to share my feeling about all this people that hate the iPhone without any reason at all... I don't know.. I'm just thinking loud here.

What do you think?

People hate A. Out of jealousy and B. Because something is popular. I have yet to hear a legitimate reason from any of my iPhone hating friends why the iPhone is bad. Most of the time its BS that they heard on the internet and think its real.

I use the Galaxy S2. And the stock OS is horrible. But since its Android, its an open world. AOSP(Android OPEN SOURCE Project) Roms are downloadable and frequently updated(monthly, weekly, and even daily). They are created by unique developers which develops roms from just source or sometimes cooks which customize a stock rom for its speed and stability.

But of course its all about the owner's preference. Complete, useful and stable(iOS) or Open Sourced, customizable, and PC-like(Android).

I DONT hate the iphone and Im and android user!

I wouldn't.

Take your pick of one or more -- possibly others not on this list:
  • Immaturity
  • Insecurity
  • Jealousy
  • Inability to see beyond one's own perspective/needs/wants
  • Fanboyism or other reason for sense of self worth being derived from a purchased product

Does it matter? If they can't appreciate their choice without bashing the alternatives then it's their problem.

People who hate a tech product are usually nerds who feel the need to put down the competition.
This is not limited to nerds. People do it all the time and it applies to far more than just tech.

I always compare it to the Dallas Cowboys. Its either you Love them or you HATE em. your either a real fan or your a flamer.
Couldn't care less either way. Meh. But sports teams in general are another good example of irrational brand loyalty.

iPhone lovers hate andriod and andriod lovers hate iPhone.
False dichotomy. You can love something without hating the alternatives. What you're describing are fanboys who see it that way.

That's pretty odd.

I like how people think their "expertise" in computing somehow makes their opinion more valid.
It's pretty typical in my experience. The hardcore geeks seem to have a tendency to see things in black and white and have little appreciation for perspectives other than their own.

Sure they do. No brand has an exclusive on people like that.

You have to get out of your Apple fanboy mentality and see that it's possible to hate the iPhone, as not everybody is hopelessly in love with it as you are.

Also, you have to realize that "Why would anybody hate the iPhone?" is a question that only a hopeless fanboy would ask. It's an immature, thoughtless question that you should be ashamed of asking.
Again, another false dichotomy. Asking why anyone would hate any tech is a valid question as only a fanboy would hate tech that the fanboy does not prefer.

I think a lot of the "hate" (not necessarily all of it) stems from people needing to justify to themselves their purchase decision continuously. I personally don't "hate" one platform or another. I look forward to my little android experiment that I'm currently conducting on my Galaxy S phone so that I can begin to tinker with it again! However for my day-to-day needs, the iPhone seemed to fit a little better this go-round. We'll see what comes about this year as I'm already eligible for a new device.

I think, that you shouldn't care if they love or hate the iPhone. You should care whether or not you like it. If Android is what they like and works best for them, then great. As long as you like the iPhone and it does what you want, that's all that really matters.

People who hate on the iPhone or 'Droid or whatever, are just acting immature and not looking at it objectively. It's that or they're trying to stir the pot and get a rise out of you to cause strife and contention.

Sandbox General, as ever the voice of reason.
I suspect you`ll be drowned out on here...;)

Ageist??!!

If you are fifteen years old. Hopefully most adults realize that it's just a tool and use the one that works best for them. Most of these forums are full of kids who have this "my dad is bigger than your dad" attitude.

Ohhhhh I'm sorry I'm 15, I'm sorry I didnt lie about my age and any way I dont see because I'm under 18 I can't have my own opinion!!! I have owned 3 IOS devices since 2008 and have alot more experence and knoledge about IOS than many people on this website! And I have know idea what this "my dad is bigger than your dad" is all about!!

FWIW, my 2 cents:

I an somewhat older (yes, I have done word processing on a Lisa) so I remember the Mac-is-a-toy comments from PC/UNIX users. I also remember being very proud of my Compaq Portable when I first saw the MacPlus. I was enraged. Why? Because all of the money and training I had sunk into DOS was now surpassed by a system I perceived to be better, both as a user and as a scientist who 'programs'. Still, I made the transition to the Mac, while many other people I knew did not. The people who most committed to DOS or UNIX, and by committed I mean their careers were based on it, were the most negative about the Mac.

I see the same thing now. We all invest in our our mobile phones and OS's. The more people make the same investment as us, the greater the variety of software will be, the cheaper the prices and so on. So – all of us have an interest in the continued health of our mobile OS, and for some I believe this interest expresses itself as hostility toward other platforms.

As for Android, it's not for me. I don't know why, but it just never appealed to me. Perhaps one day it will. In any case, as irksome as I find Android threads being posted in an iPhone forum, I do not hate Android nor 'fandroids'. The same is true for BB and Windows mobile. As they say, 'whatever floats your boat...'

I would bet that most ( not all ) of the people who mock the outher Operating systems haven't actualy tryed the outher OS like people who mock skodas but have never actualy been near one.

You're too young to remember when skodas and ladas were horrible, horrible cars, and most people on here are too American to know what a skoda is!

General human nature. People love to think they are superior based on what chunk of silicon/metal/plastic/glass/strings of 1s and 0s they own. It is pathetic.

However, i do get frustrated with iOS with the lack of an ability to program for it since i love programming. Yeah i know i know, buy a mac. But no, i am not buying a $1000 computer to do what my $400 one can do easily.

One of the reason i am hoping Windows Phone takes off. Easy development on windows is a win for me.

Same with iphone. some people just hate it because they have never used it or used it a long time ago, or hate itunes and dont wanna buy music or apps. Some people even think it cost more on a plan for some reason.

I like it and I sell it quite often more than Android platform. Nothing is wrong with Android, just prefer the IOS.

Agreed.
