I am still guessing updates will happen Sunday evening PT

I agree. I think we'll see "Preparing for Shipment" at the end of this week or the start of next week, with "Shipped" showing up Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. But who knows. I'll just be happy if I get it the 24th.

Mine is still scheduled for May and I don't want it to change, I'll be out of town during the week of the 24th and I don't want it on my doorstep while we're away.

dont worry, apple are pretty vigilant about signed deliveries. must be signed by the person on the receipt.

Let's quote you right now to save time. You can't take your stupid hunch and report it as some information that you're able to guarantee.

It's not a hunch, it's based on 6 or more previous preorders.
Go back to class

Uh my wife has signed for me many times. It has to be signed for by a person over 18, that's the only restriction.

And for the record, we have different last names .. so no, that isn't why they allow it. FedEx / UPS just needs an adult to sign.

my iphone 6 didnt have to be signed for, i was at school teaching when i was alerted via text it had been delivered, i had my friends wife run by the house and pick it up and bring it to me at School.....i was the cool teacher who had his iphone personally delivered lol (the mind of students) so to say, it doesnt' have to be signed for

when i called FedEx, the person said apple was very strict about signing... had to be signed by me and only me, not my neighbor or family member. but i guess it's ultimately up to the driver's discretion.

Been through this multiple times in the past for iPhone and iPad launches and if it is anything like those (they have all been the same) - those who are in the first batch of shipments will see a status change on their orders to "Preparing to Ship" by Sunday evening / Early Monday Morning.

There will be a day or so delay on order status (for a tracking number) via the apple order page but if you go to the FedEx or UPS website and track by reference number (using your zip code, phone number, etc...) you should be able to grab your info (tracking number including delivery date) by this Tuesday evening/early Wednesday morning at latest. If tracking by reference returns no results it means your watch has not shipped yet.

This assumes these watches are all coming from China, all this could change if they come in from the USA as China passes through Alaska and then usually Memphis before going to the local hubs.

Its probably against the rules. But I have had stuff delivered to my neighbor a lot and signed for stuff for them too. We both know the driver fairly well and he saw us outside sitting together all the time with the kids playing. So I have left a note on the door a lot asking for something to be dropped off over there if I knew it need to be signed for and he always did it. I also got a iphone for my other neighbor I think it was like the 4s so it was a while ago. But they were leaving town for a week and it didn't come in time.

I just spoke with Apple chat support, and the specialist said that Apple Watch orders (aka shipping times) will be updated any day now (and likely tomorrow). Just in case you all weren't already checking your orders status multiple times a day :)

I just realized that every sentence ends with an exclamation! It reads like someone trying to reframe the problem of low supply into a problem of everyone being excited! They have no answers but you'll feel like a buzzkill asking specific questions!

Yes they require a signature from an adult in that household. Apple is strict about requiring a signature. They don't want it left on the steps. It's about curbing theft.

If they are suspicious that it is a neighbor or random person they can ask for ID. The ID just has to match the address, NOT THE NAME.

However, I believe they are more strict about the name when you have it held at the carrier facility.

At least Siri tells the truth!

Don't trust any of these reps you speak to. Most of them do not work for Apple and are hired by 3rd party contracting companies. I used to work for one of them. You are most likely speaking to someone working out of their own home in Bangalore, India named Harvinder.

Fixed for accuracy

I ask Siri when is my apple watch going to be delivered. She told me to go to fabulous apple.com website ....grrrr

no, it's the driver taking matters into his own hands is what i meant. just imagine if apple OK'd deliveries to be left on doorsteps with apple written on the outside and nosy people nearby.

You don't sound like you have every gotten anything delivered from apple. Shipments don't say Apple on the outside of the box. Example: my iMac was shipped to me inside of another box. Now with that said the outside box was the same shape as the inside box so to ME it was clearly an iMac. My iPhone came in a padded envelope not the original iPhone box.

iPhone 6 if history is of any guideline

I checked old posts. iPhone 6 pre-order started on Sept. 12 with first delivery data Sept. 19. Verizon sent first shipment notice on Sept. 13 for Fedex but the shipments were not delivered by Sept. 19

iPhone 6 did not have inventory problems like Apple Watch, or as we understand from various sources, so it may be bit late. But it could be any time starting this Saturday for those who will get it on April 24.

What an interesting chat style this Specialist has! I don't think I've ever seen anyone write quite like that! There's something unique about it! Can't quite put my finger on it!...
